So my shoe broke at uni.

Today I put some of them all over the city. I thought its a good way to get attention on it.

So my laptop decided to die over the weekend. After spending around 6h trying to fix it I decide to take it into the Apple store which has a two hour wait. While waiting I open the laptop, only to realise that it is in fact working. I manage to update the OS which I think was the problem and still have 1 hour to wait. Should I a) wait the duration and get them to check and make sure it is actually fixed or b) assume everything is fine, go home and watch tv in bed?

I think I might be too obsessed with tea.

Either my bladder has synced to that of my housemate or he has IBS. Don't care which it is but please get out of the bathroom.

So I found my boyfriend's long socks and shin pads on the bed a few minutes after he left for soccer training. In attempt to be nice I took them down only to discover that he doesn't need them. I am going to be the most embarrassing parent that has ever existed.

I can't figure out why this picture looks so much more like Tatiana Maslany as Alison Hendrix than any of the other clones. It doesn't even have the fringe.

Arrgh. Am feeling absolutely consumed by hatred for stupidity that doesn't affect me, or anyone but the stupid person, at all. I think its time for ten deep breaths and a nice cup of tea. I really need to not let this affect me so much.

Kinda just thought Tatiana Maslany was awesome for her capacity to portray so many distinct and complicated characters. Then she goes and demonstrates a completely different strain of awesomeness. Didn’t realise I could possibly like her more.

So I haven't had a lot success with my indoor gardening experiments. The succulent leaf propogation attempt has essentially resulted in shriveled leaves and most of my parsley seeds are dormant. However, my leek has gone crazy and a few little parsley sprouts have come up. Fingers crossed, I might not have killed everything.

Have to admit I was pretty guilty of being wrapped up in the leadership spill. I was so wrapped up in triumphal joy at the irony of the situation that I did not even know this protest was going on, let alone its purpose. I was pretty aware that indigenous affairs were still a bottom priority but the extent of this is disgusting. How can we apologise for stealing a generation of children and then continue to do so. Every day Australian politics seems to find a new low.

This also greatly cheapens Karl Stefanovic's recent appeal to the left as an advocate for diverse and respectful representation in the media. Seems a bit two faced to be making comments about the lack of indigenous representation in a conversation about indigenous issues and then failing to actually discuss these issues with indigenous activists when the opportunity presents itself. I get that they were there to cover the libspill but its not like he has never gone off script before. I guess it was just another cynical and successful attempt at boosting ratings. I know that many people probably already picked up on that, but to be honest, I was hoping for something more. It would have been a beautiful thing to see the Australian media make a meaningful transition towards a more balanced representation.  Oh well.

Well that was lucky

Just lost an argument I was pretending to have with someone in my head. Not sure if that makes me a terrible arguer or a very good arguer but either way I am fairly thankful I didn't open my big mouth.

I have essentially decided that, at least for now, this will basically be my own record of my indoor gardening exploits. This is mostly so I can keep track of how everything is going and growing and also to try to maintain my attention on my plants so that this time they don't die. So today, I planted some parsley seeds which are expected to take about 16 weeks to mature. I also transplanted a leek base that I have had sitting in water for about 4 days now. There aren't really any progress pics but at one point the top of the leek was flat. So I guess you can infer its growth from that.

Succulent Propogation - Day 3 Decided to add some soil to my leaves. Everything is looking nicely calloused but no little roots visible yet. Also rewatered the original soil as it has been pretty hot. Still hopeful this will work, though the failure for any little roots to sprout is starting to worry. I guess patience is the key.

Single leaf succulent propogation - day 1. Testing out succulent propogation using the one leaf method I reblogged yesterday. The impatient part of me couldn't wait for all of the leaves to callous so I put some straight on the soil. Excited to see how it all goes.
