To celebrate the Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day on August 21st, and following this post, here’s what you can do to show your favorite fanfiction writers how grateful you are for their work!
Whether you are just a reader or a writer as well, on August 21st:
Go on AO3, FF.net, Wattpad or any other fanfiction website, even Tumblr, and leave comments on your favorite fics. It doesn’t matter if you’ve already reviewed them, just do it again. It doesn’t even have to be a long comment, just show your appreciation. Tell the writers how much you love their fics. Let them know what they mean to you.
Since you’re there, give kudos, favorite their fics, vote, like them.
Send your favorite writers an encouraging message. Tell them how much you love their work. Tell them which of their fics is your favorite and why. Tell them why they’re important to you.
Make a post recommending some of your favorite fics to your followers so that they have a chance to read them as well and share them with others. Spread the word.
Make this a very special day for your favorite writers, but remember to nurture them often. They spend countless hours working on plots, developing characters and creating worlds that wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for them. And they do it for free, of their own accord and frequently during their free time. It takes hard work and commitment and love for what they’re doing. And they do it for them just as much as they do it for you, so appreciate it.
They give you infinite ways in which your favorite characters find love, go on adventures and get to experience different lives, new challenges. They give you unimaginable versions of your favorite stories that you’ll just never get to see in the official storyline. They give you the opportunity to fall in love with your favorite characters all over again. Be grateful for that and don’t be afraid to express it.
Show your favorite writers how much you appreciate them and you might just make their day. And a writer who knows that their work is loved is a happy writer. Never forget that. Always share your love :)

Princess Sayaka - 10
Took my long enough. I’m sorry. I just had a little push, slap or whatever. But I’m glad to say that this story is still progressing and I still have a few chapters already written after this one. ;)
Sayaka and Rain looked at each other as Jun left her bedroom.
“Haliya… she was the consort who was driven out by my grandfather, right?” Sayaka confirmed. Rain nodded nervously. “What is she doing here?”
“I don’t know, Your Highness. But before you can meet her, you need to change into something.”
Sayaka faced the mirror as Rain helped her wear a robe with minimalistic design and dull colors, definitely reflecting her current mood. “Rain, she must know something about Sae’s whereabouts!”
“What made you say so, Princess?”
“You said, she did something bad before. What if she did this because of me? I’m going to get that woman!” she said, angrily stomping her feet. Sayaka was not normally like this. But stuff about Sae could drive her insane. She even threatened to behead the whole palace if Sae was not found.
“Calm down, Princess Sayaka…”
“Let’s go,” the princess snapped, walking out of the door, Rain following her. The two arrived in the receiving area. Sayaka’s eyes saw red when she saw the woman facing away from her.
“Where did you bring Sae?” she asked angrily, pulling the woman’s arm.
The woman turned around, surprised with the violent reaction she got from the princess. Nevertheless, she respectfully bowed. Rain whispered something to her, the translation, probably.
“I did not take your friend,” Haliya replied in a firm tone. “I am here to help you, Princess Mayari…”
“It’s Sayaka,” Rain reminded.
“Princess Sayaka,” the lady corrected herself with a slight apologetic bow.
“Everyone’s searching for Sae. I will not stop until I know that she is safe,” Sayaka said.
“That’s what the rebels want to happen. For you to delay the wedding and the coronation. I’ve been watching carefully.”
“Why? Because you want to steal the power from my grandfather?”
Haliya shakes her head with a sad smile. “I never wanted to take the throne. Life as a consort is already hell. You have to fight to survive. But I don’t want to see this dynasty failing. After all, I do love the king. I will do anything for him to be happy.”
Sayaka felt a pang of guilt. But then she did not know if this woman was saying the truth.
“Anyway, Princess Sayaka, there’s one way to make sure that you’ll get your friend and avoid chaos in this kingdom. But as of now, the king is bedridden and he could not rule. This can only be done by a ruler.”
“Only the ruler?”
“Yes,” Haliya said, placing her hand on Sayaka’s shoulder. “You have to wear the Moon Crown if you want to do that.”
“What difference does that make?” Sayaka asked. “And why should I trust your advice?”
The lady looked at her thoughtfully. “I could ask you to make me a regent, but I did not do that. That’s because I don’t want to take any part in this circus of politics.”
“If I wear that crown, will that even help me find my best friend?” Sayaka looked at her. “She’s already mad at me that I’m going to marry Jun!”
“In a way, yes,” the lady replied smartly. “I have heard that Magi Jun is trying to look for her and they had suspicions that the girl is kidnapped by the rebels, am I right?”
Sayaka nodded.
“By an ancient pact of the kingdom and the Northern tribes, the Royal Army could never cross the border that separates the tribes. If you become the real queen of this kingdom, you can brandish the Imperial Sword, just like the king. That gives freedom to your Royal Army to go to the Northern tribes and find the girl. And if they find her there, you can order their execution, whichever way you want.”
Sayaka looked away, dizzy with all the stupid rules this kingdom has. “Is that my only chance?”
“If Magi Jun returns here without the girl,” Haliya said, “that means he was not able to find her within the borders of your kingdom. If the Northern rebels kidnapped her, that really means war because they broke the pact and entered the palace to kidnap a royal guest.”
“Why are you doing all of these? I mean, why are you helping me?”
“Princess, I want to boast that I am quite an expert in the ancient laws. I want to help you with all I can. I also told you that I don’t want this kingdom to fall into ruins.”
Sayaka eyed the woman with suspicion. But then, Haliya’s knowledge about the ancient laws was actually useful. She just did not know if brandishing the Imperial Sword – a declaration of war – is the best way to actually find Sae.
“I’ll study about this, Lady Haliya. But thank you,” she said in gratitude. “Rain, please take her to a guest room or something. She could not leave in this kind of weather,” she said weakly before going back to her bedroom. She paced around the room, thinking. A lot of people are already pressuring her to become the queen: his grandfather as his dying wish, the Magis because of the rebels. But it was her desire to save Sae that made her think about seriously being a queen. She did not want to marry Jun but in order to save her best friend, even though she knew that Sae would never forgive her, she would have to.
“Rain?” she called out. Her assistant rushed inside her room.
“Yes, Your Highness?”
“I know that they started the preparations for our wedding. When is the earliest date that it could be done?”
“Noha told me that they’re planning to do it next month. It’s an auspicious date,” Rain replied.
“A month is too long,” Sayaka replied. “Rain, if Jun comes back here without Sae, tell Noha that the wedding and the coronation should be done as soon as possible. I cannot wait for a month.”
Rain nodded, a bit sad about the decision of the princess.
***
Sae woke up, feeling cold. She found herself lying down in a cold cell that was only illuminated by the windows found at the door. She had no idea where she was. She tried to recall what happened before she found herself in this place.
“Jun!” she gasped, remembering her discovery. “I need to warn Sayaka.” She stood up and started rattling the bars. “Where am I? Oi! Release me!” she shouted. She looked at the exterior of her cell and found a group of men playing cards and laughing at each other.
One of them noticed that the prisoner was awake. He nudged the other one, who looked at Sae and left the room.
“Hey!” the girl kept on shouting. “Let me out! Let me out!” Sae wailed, rattling the bars. The man from earlier returned with a woman behind him. “Who are you?” she asked.
“Lady Sae,” she said in Japanese. “Thank you. Because of you, Princess Sayaka will finally take the crown. Our plans will be in place now.”
“What the hell?” Sae said. “You used me so that Sayaka will get the crown?”
“You should have seen how crazy the princess was when you disappeared,” the woman said with a smirk. “She even threatened to behead Noha if they could not find you.”
Sae did not know if she would feel good that Sayaka was actually that concerned about her or if she would feel bad that her best friend would be capable of murder just for her. “What… what did she do?”
“She’s rushing the wedding and the coronation and this time, she will not hold back,” the woman said as she walked around the area. “She will also announce war to the rebels. Everything’s according to plan.”
“You! Are you working with that traitor, Jun?” Sae tried to insert her arm through the bars to reach the woman, who backed away. “Hey!”
“Don’t worry. We will send your head back to the princess as a coronation gift.”
Sae sunk down in her cell. “Stupid… stupid…” she murmured. She knew that Sayaka being Sayaka, she would do her best to save her friend. But hearing those words, she felt frustrated that Sayaka would be driven to do things she did not want because of her.
Sae cried silently inside the cell as she looked at the dark sky outside. Sayaka would be a queen but she would be in danger because Jun would try to kill her. Meanwhile, she would be beheaded. What a great ending for the forever partners.
She looked at the door when she heard the sound metal banging. A man entered and hit Sae, making her fall on the floor. The man tied her up. “Let me go!” she shouted, trying to break free. However, she was too tired and too hungry to give a lot of effort. She fell on the floor and the man successfully placed a black bag on her head. She was forcibly pulled up and made to walk.
“This is it. This is the end…” she thought sadly as she walked. It was as if a movie about her life was playing in her head. She could remember the first time she met Sayaka in the audition, the weird girl that she was. She recalled the stages that they shared, the funny costumes they used everytime they celebrate their birthdays along with Yuko. She remembered crying at Sayaka’s graduation until she felt like she was dehydrated.
She remembered her last fight with her best friend. “I’m going to die without reconciling with Sayaka… I’m going to die without… without…” she remembered how she playfully kissed her partner while her heart beat frantically deep inside. She choked back a cry in realization.
“I’m going to die without telling her that I love her…” she admitted sadly to herself.

Princess Sayaka - 9
Kiita! ;)
“What?”
“I found her phone and the shawl I gave her near a broken pot in the garden hall!” Rain said, teary-eyed. “I looked for her but she was nowhere to be found!”
Sayaka shook her head. “I don’t understand…” she started. “Where is she?” Without waiting for a response, she stormed out of her quarters and made her way to the main hall just outside her own palace. She saw Noha, who immediately bowed.
“Your Highness, you’re dripping wet!”
“Noha, Sae is missing! We need to find her!” the princess said, not caring that she was soaking wet and already feeling very cold.
“But Princess, there are…”
“I am the princess here! Look for her or I’ll take your heads!” she shrieked in anger. This issue concerned Sae and there wasn’t anything more important than that.
Noha got up from her bowing stance, surprised. She shot a look at Rain, who was still holding the wet shawl and Sae’s phone. “Leo!” the old woman shouted, motioning the bodyguard that was with Sayaka and Sae the day before. “Close the gates! Don’t let anyone in or out! Summon the Royal Guards. Find Lady Sae.” The man bowed wordlessly before leaving.
“Sae… Sae where are you?” Sayaka said, her hands shaking. It was already bad that they were not talking with each other but it was worse that her best friend was missing. It could be her fault since she was the princess! “Sae…” her voice started to become hoarse because of the cold and the tears that she was trying to stop. “Sae, where are you?”
Rain followed her as she went through the hallways that seemed like a maze. “Princess Sayaka! Let’s return to you room. You might get sick!” she said with worry. Somehow, she also felt guilty about letting Sae go to Sayaka’s room alone. Her pleas went to deaf ears as Sayaka continued running, opening any doors that she could find. Her heavy silken robes that became heavier due to water left a trail.
It was when the princess staggered sideways, nauseous, when she actually heeded her assistant’s advice, letting the girl lead her back to her own palace.
Sayaka could not sleep. Her bed was warm and comfortable but she could not imagine what state Sae would be in, especially in this kind of weather. She hugged her knees and buried her face on them as she wept. She recalled all the wonderful memories she had with her best friend. Now, she would be gone and it was her fault.
“… Magi Jun, the princess is resting!” she heard Rain’s muffled voice from the other side of the door.
Sayaka quickly wiped the tears off her face as the large doors opened. “I’m sorry, Your Highness,” Rain apologized with a bow.
“Princess,” Jun said, bowing as well. “I’ve heard about Lady Sae.”
She just nodded at him without a word. She was too ill to speak.
“I’m going to organize a group that will search her outside the palace grounds since the Royal Guards did not find any clue about her whereabouts.”
“I’m… I’m going with you.”
“Princess!”
“I suggest you stay here and wait, Your Highness. My father told me that there’s a big possibility that Sae was kidnapped by the rebels.”
“Kidnapped?” Sayaka repeated. “This is all my fault…”
“We’ll make sure that we’ll find Sae and catch her kidnappers for your punishment,” Jun said with conviction, putting his right arm over his chest. “I promise you that, Your Highness.”
“Thank you, Jun,” she replied gratefully. It was comforting to know that someone would really go out and look for Sae.
“Another thing, Princess,” he added.
“Hmm?”
“Lady Haliya has arrived. She wants to talk to you.”

Princess Sayaka - 8
Hello everyone! Glad that there are still people following this. :)
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Sae knew. She knew that she would lose Sayaka. Who was she compared to all the people that Sayaka needed to protect? “What? How… how soon?” She knew that Sayaka would be married to Jun but she did not imagine that it would be this soon.
“A month from now, I guess,” Sayaka replied. Sae’s silence made her feel awful.
“You said you’re going to know more about Jun before you will marry him!” Sae said, trying to reason out.
“If I won’t step on that throne, the people of this country will be in danger,” Sayaka explained, sitting at the edge of the bed.  Sae sat beside her.
“Can’t you… can’t you just quit this?” she asked. The younger one felt that taking the throne would not make Sayaka happy. However, she also selfishly thought that if the princess finally takes the throne, she would have no way to stay close to Sayaka. She knew the answer, though. Her partner will never turn her back on this responsibility and this made her upset, mad even. “You know what?” she started, breaking away from Sayaka’s grasp and standing up, “I’m going to leave all you crazies here!”
Sayaka looked at her with eyes wide. She remembered their past conversations, on how Sae was open about her leaving Japan and actually becoming a queen. She stupidly believed that Sae was alright with it. But she now realized that Sae was just trying to make her feel better and she never agreed with any of these. She shook her head. “I don’t want to involve you more in this problem, Sae.”
She stood up and faced Sae. “Trust me, Sae. I know what I’m doing. You’re probably sick of me and I understand if you don’t want to.” She touched her friend’s hand again and looked at her with pleading eyes. “Please.”
Sae just clicked her tongue at the princess and looked away. She faced the veranda and started talking. “Fine!” she snapped. “I’m leaving with the earliest flight back to Japan!”
The princess was hurt with the reaction. She wanted to touch Sae’s back and make her feel better but she thought that her actions would probably hurt Sae more. “I’ll… I’ll tell Rain to fix your flight back to Tokyo,” she said in a monotonous voice. Sayaka heaved a sigh before leaving the room.
“I actually even hoped that you won’t marry and we’ll be friends forever,” the younger one cried after the door closed. “Stupid Sae,” she told herself, while tearing at her hair.
Sayaka was silently leaning on the closed door, listening to Sae. Her best friend’s words were like bullets that struck her chest. It was painful seeing Sae like this.
***
Their short vacation together really turned into a disaster. Sae did not join Sayaka in her car even though she insisted. Sayaka felt loneliness and fear of being alone inside the car. She looked at the changing skies. From the sunny weather in the secluded beach, she was slowly greeted by the gloomy gray clouds.
“Rain?”
“Yes, Your Highness?”
“Have you… have you arranged Sae’s flight back to Tokyo?” she asked, trying her best to not breakdown.
“You are seriously sending her back to Japan?” Rain asked, surprised with her boss’ order.
“She doesn’t want to stay here anymore and I respect her decision,” Sayaka said flatly.
“Yes, Your Highness, I will book her a flight as soon as possible… if that’s what you wish,” she added, observing Sayaka’s body response. The princess nodded slowly, making the assistant sigh. Rain looked at the window outside. “It seems like a storm is coming, Your Highness,” she said in a voice that was too small for Sayaka to hear. Even though Sae’s disregard for royal protocol was a big headache for her, she liked how their guest made the princess feel better and she somehow knew that things could go wrong without that girl. Jun explicitly told her before that Sayaka’s friend was no ordinary.
Rain shrugged as she scribbled the task on her notebook.
***
Sae placed the last shirt inside her luggage. She sat on her bed and looked around her, wondering how Sayaka would be once she is crowned. She would not even want to see the coronation. That crown on her best friend’s head would be like a pair of scissors that would cut their friendship.
“Lady Sae?” Rain’s voice was heard from the other side of the door.
“Rain? Come in,” she called out. The girl entered and closed the door behind her. Sae noticed that she was wearing a heavy shawl.
“Weather’s not really good,” Rain laughed a little, putting the shawl on a chair. “How are your preparations?”
“Hmm… heavy,” Sae said, not really sure if she was talking about the luggage or something else.
“I just came here to give you your tickets for your flight tomorrow. I made it in the afternoon since the princess would probably want to have breakfast with you before you… leave,” she said the last word cautiously as she noticed the change of Sae’s expression. She watched as the Japanese girl gingerly grabbed the envelope as if it was poisoned.
“Thanks, Rain,” Sae replied. “But I don’t want to bother Sayaka anymore. If I see her tomorrow morning, I’d probably change my mind about leaving.”
“But why?”
“Eh?”
“Why do you want to leave?” Rain asked her question. “Princess Sayaka… You’re probably the only one in this kingdom who can make the princess smile like that.”
“But Jun…”
“Even Magi Jun cannot,” Rain informed her. “Everyone knows that they’re arranged to be married. I don’t know the princess well but I can see that she is just trying to be nice to Jun. That’s it.”
“Why are you saying these things, Rain?” Sae asked, confused.
The assistant smiled and pulled the ticket envelope from Sae’s hands. “What I want to say is that, you should go talk to the princess. I really don’t know why the two of you were suddenly sour against each other when you were just having fun yesterday.” She observed the subtle twitch of Sae’s lips. “Is this about the coronation? The wedding?” Sae blinked.
“Rain, if you just know what I want Sayaka to do. It’s… selfish. She will not choose me over this kingdom,” Sae pouted.
“I want to see her rule the kingdom,” Rain honestly said. “She’s really driven and strong. But right now, she’s an empty shell. It would actually be selfish of me to ask you to please… talk to her. I think you’re the only one who can do it.” The assistant closed her eyes in exhaustion. “She hasn’t left her room. She did not touch her food. No one could get in. Not even Noha.”
It was the first time Sae discovered Sayaka’s state. She realized that her friend was not taking the situation lightly as well. “I… I will go talk to her,” Sae said.
Rain smiled at her. “Thank you, Lady Sae. This means a world to this kingdom!” She made her way out of the room. “I’ll leave the shawl here. It’s quite cold outside.”
After Rain left, Sae paced back and forth inside her bedroom. She was trying to think about what she would tell Sayaka. Will the princess even let her in her quarters?
“Sayaka… what the hell?” she muttered to herself. She mustered all her courage and took the shawl that Rain gave her.
It was already raining. The wind was also strong that the small palm trees inside the palace were swaying violently. She passed through the large garden, the shawl over her head as she hopped on the decorative stones to avoid the mud. She was about to reach the dry area connecting to the next halls when she heard someone talk in an angry voice. Sae went behind a wooden divider that separated the halls and the gardens and kept quiet.
“… don’t you get it? This is the chance for us to finally get the throne that we deserve!”
Sae peered through the handsome wooden window, hoping that she was concealed by the carving decorations. She saw the man holding out a bottle to a taller man. She watched as he cautiously took the bottle and looked around to make sure that no one saw them.
Sae gasped, “Jun!”
“What do you want me to do with this?” he asked.
“No one will know that poison will kill her. This works slowly and it will be dismissed as a natural death.”
“I’m going to poison Princess Sayaka?”
Sae’s eyes were wide. She felt her hands shaking in fear. “They’re going to kill Sayaka?”
“Jun, this is the only way! That little girl cannot handle this throne. This country will be ruined if she wears the Moon Crown!”
“Sayaka needs to know about this,” Sae thought, taking one step backward. However, she suddenly bumped into a pot, causing the pot to fall down and create a crashing noise.
“Who’s there?” Jun hissed. Sae clamped her mouth to stop the sound of breathing. She crouched behind some plants as Jun approached her area, trying to see if there was someone eavesdropping. Sae heaved a sigh of relief when the Magi passed her area but before she could even stand up from her position, she was knocked unconscious.
***
Sayaka looked at the mirror. She noticed how different she really looked. Her eyes were red because she was crying and she looked pale. The only thing she could think of was how Sae reacted. How Sae probably felt. How hurt her best friend was. “I need to really fix stuff with Sae,” she thought to herself. She could not get married with Sae feeling bitter with everything. She looked at the engagement ring Jun gave her. “To tell the truth, Sae, I also thought I won’t marry and we’ll stay together always…”
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard Rain shouting. “Princess! Princes!”
“Rain, what’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost!” she exclaimed. She saw Rain holding Sae’s cellphone, making her feel nervous. “What happened?”
“Lady Sae…”

Princess Sayaka - 7
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I know this is like... 3 years overdue? But anyway...
And I do apologize. I really don’t know why the font became times new roman. I’ve tried changing the CSS but it’s still like this. Anyone who knows what I can do? I just prefer arial fonts. But if you’re good with it, then I think it’s okay.
Please enjoy!
“This is great! The sea looks sooooo nice!” Sae shouted happily as she ran towards the shore. “Sayaka! Come here, quick!”
“Wait for me!” Sayaka shouted back. She turned around. “Rain, who is this guy?”
“Ah, Your Highness, he is Leo and he was sent by the palace to be your bodyguard.”
“Bodyguard? Seriously?” She eyed the girl, making Rain gulp.
“Don’t worry, Princess, he will just stay here.” She raised her hands in surrender. “He won’t bother you and Lady Sae.”
“Good,” Sayaka replied. “I have a lot of debts to Sae, I need to make up to her.” She smiled at her assistant. “Rain, you can also go enjoy yourself.”
“But I’m supposed to…”
“I’m a big girl already, Rain. I can manage this. Just go and have fun, okay?”
Sayaka’s assistant bowed deeply. “Thank you!” she replied before running after Sae to enjoy the sea.
The princess heaved a sigh and made her way towards the hut that did not really look like a hut because of its grandiosity. Rain had told her earlier that the beach was owned by her family and it was only used for recreational purposes. But since everyone was busy, no one was able to use the beach.
She looked around the rest house. Obviously, her request to go out made people actually clean the house so it looked brand new. It was simpler compared to her bedroom in the palace but still contained the regality of the royal family. A large emblem of gold was hung on the wall. She then noticed a portrait of a woman, very much like a queen, hanging on the other side.
“Who is that?” she asked aloud. She did not see this woman’s portrait anywhere in the palace.
Rain was, fortunately, behind her, fixing their lunch. The shorter woman went beside Sayaka and looked at the painting. “That’s Lady Haliya.”
“Is she… my ancestor?” Sayaka wondered, touching the painting. She noted the elegance that the woman radiates: her posture, her clothing, everything looked so queenly.
“She is one of the consorts of the king, Your Highness,” the assistant said.
“Why didn’t I see her portraits in the palace then?”
Rain averted her gaze. “Princess, they said… she was thrown out of the palace and stripped off her rank.”
She suddenly turned towards Rain. “Why?”
Rain looked like she was in deep trouble. “Your Highness,” she started, kneeling down, “I’m sorry, I can’t talk about this anymore.”
“Stand up, Rain,” Sayaka said. Rain’s actions made her more curious than ever.
“Princess Sayaka, I…” Rain took a deep breath. She muttered something in her own language, as if praying, before looking at the princess’ eyes. “They said she was thrown out of the palace because they said it was her fault that the king’s first child with Queen Diyan got lost. Lady Haliya could not bear children. Probably, she was afraid that Queen Diyan’s children will make her lose her power.”
Sayaka’s eyes narrowed. “I see… So basically, the lost child is like… my uncle?”
Rain nodded as she continued her task. “My mother said that he’s probably alive. Lady Haliya was just jealous but she’s not really an evil person so she could not have killed the child.”
The princess sighed in relief. She did not want to hear anything about royal murders. But she remembered one of her conversations with Jun while he was prepping her up to be the next ruler.
“You know what? I actually don’t like the idea of becoming a ruler of a country,” Sayaka said, looking at the thick books uneasily. “I mean, if I were trained ever since I was young, I could be up for it…”
“I know you can do it,” the man replied with a kind smile. “But I do understand where your feelings are coming from.”
_“Do I have any choice?” _
The man laughed, shaking his head. “Unfortunately, unless you can present another person in the same bloodline, you’ll be able to forgo this task. But right now, it’s just you…”
“I wonder…” she said to herself, looking at the portrait once again. She actually had an idea lit up in her head. “What if I find this person?” She looked at Sae and smiled as her partner waved at her from afar. She immediately thought of her life in Japan, with the family she grew up with it, with her friends, with Sae.
“Sayakaaa!” Sae shouted. “Come here!”
“You’re gonna get sunburnt!”
“I put on sunscreen!”
“You’re a spoiled child,” the newly installed princess said in mock disappointment. She removed the bandana that hid her bikini-clad body and followed Sae to the waters. She beamed at her younger friend who started to splash water towards her.
“Stop it!” she shouted, shivering at the cold.
“Oh, I can’t believe the princess is afraid of water!” Sae mocked.
“Come here, you…!”
She got ahold of the younger one, putting her arms around her waist. “You are so gonna get it, Sae!” she said, her eyes flashing menacingly.
Sae giggled. “That’s the Sayaka I know,” she said before pushing her friend to the water and running away with slight difficulty. They played around, unmindful of the sun. The two just decided to get out of the water when Rain, followed by Leo, called them for lunch.
“First one to get to the hut is the winner!” Sae teased before pelting towards the shore.
Sayaka raised an eyebrow before running after Sae. She felt the sting on her skin because of the sun exposure but she did not mind. She reached the hut and found Sae teasing her because obviously, her younger partner won in the race.
“Are you becoming that old, obaa-chan?” Sae teased as Sayaka patted her skin with a towel.
She laughed. “No, silly! I did not even agree to have a race with you. Stop with that pout, come on,” she added, ushering Sae towards the table with the hearty meal. “Rain, Leo, come over here and join us!”
Rain smiled shyly before walking towards the table while Leo just silently looked at the three, walking behind Sayaka like the bodyguard that he was. The assistant waited for the pair to sit down before she sat down herself.
“I’m hungry! Let’s eat!” Sae said, grabbing the nearest food beside her.
“Lady Sae! We cannot eat, not until the princess gets food first!” Rain said, shaking her head wildly. She looked at Sayaka, who was as surprised as Sae.
“No need for formalities,” she said after realizing the situation. “It’s just us, Rain,” she shrugged. But she grabbed a piece of bread so that the hungry Sae and the anxious Rain can finally eat.
Sayaka looked at her untouched plate, her thoughts drifting away. She remembered the new information that she had discovered. She imagined her life back in Japan as a normal actress. She liked the perks of being a princess but she also hated the stiffness and the rules: the kind of life that is against her “can do” attitude.
“Oi, Sayaka! You’re not eating!” Sae said, noticing how the princess was just absentmindedly playing with the tomato on her plate.
Sae’s chirpy voice brought her back and she gave a small grin to reassure her friend.
After lunch, the pair decided to stay at the veranda overlooking the crystal clear waters. Sayaka looked at her friend, who was lazily stirring her drink with a straw.
“Sae, are you enjoying yourself?”
“Of course… it’s not always that you get VIP treatment like this…”Sayaka nodded at her. “But you know, I kinda miss home…” she added. “I like the VIP treatment but I do like to go out with everyone.”
“Sae…”
“I guess there are pros and cons of my best friend being a princess…”
“Sae, I do understand that you want to go home. I forgot. That was selfish of me,” Sayaka said. “I’m sorry.”
“No! I am here with you because I want to support you!” her friend said, holding her hands and giving her an assuring smile. “Plus, I’m free for now, unlike Yuko… Though she’ll probably fly here if she can escape or something.”
“I would like to have Yuko and everyone here on my wedding,” Sayaka said with a chuckle.
Sae was suddenly taken aback. “Oh, right. Your wedding and the coronation.” She pursed her lips. “Sayaka?”
“Hmm?”
“What do you think about Jun?”
The princess tried to hide the surprise in her eyes. “He’s a good guy. I think we both agree on that.”
“I just wish that you can know him better before you get married…” There was anxiety in Sae’s voice.
Sayaka smiled. “Of course. I will do that. I will give you a full report on what kind of person Jun is before I get your approval,” the joked.
“Sayaka, I’m serious…”
Before Sayaka could open her mouth to reply, Rain came towards her, a robe at hand. The assistant bowed before her, as if her order to be informal was thrown out of the window.
“What’s wrong?”
“Magi Jun, Magi Renman, and Magi Shon are here. They request for your presence,” she said breathlessly. “It’s an emergency according to them.”
Rain helped Sayaka wear the robe to cover her bikini and motioned her to go to the receiving area. Sae was about to follow but she stopped the woman, saying, “Lady Sae, I advise you to stay here.”
Sae looked offended but Sayaka just gave a small nod at her. “It’s okay,” she said before walking away.
The younger one stomped her feet and sat down. “Yeah, right,” she said. “Princess stuff. Coronation. Wedding. Next thing I know, I’ll be out of your life,” Sae said, looking at the reflected sunlight on the waters with tears in her eyes.
All the Magis bowed down when Sayaka entered the room. She made her way towards the large couch and sat down. Everyone else followed suit.
“What’s wrong? You all look… worried,” she asked. It felt awkward that she was actually assuming the position of a ruler in this set up.
“Princess Sayaka,” the old thin man that she only saw in the party before, Shon, stood up and bowed. “We have received a message from the rebels. But the thing is…”
“… The message is specifically for you,” Jun continued, handing her the iPad with the video message. He let Sayaka watch the masked man speak in their native language; it was obvious to Sayaka that this man was really angry.
“What did he say?” the princess asked, returning the gadget.
“They want the new princess to go back to the country where she belonged and hand the Moon Crown to their leader Chelani or else, the country will be in anarchy in your inexperienced hands.”
“Huh? Who are they to say that?” Sayaka replied in disgust. “Crowns, power, authority… you can’t just hand them to anyone like that! I may not be politically educated but I’m not stupid!”
Renman stood up and approached the fuming Sayaka. “Princess, rumors have reached the rebels that the king is ill and unable to rule the country. They have been waiting for his death because they thought that no one will take his throne. They were, of course, shocked, that you showed up. But now, they will try to use your lack of political experience to destroy you.”
“I can’t let them! They will bring this country to anarchy?” Sayaka remembered the nice people she saw along her way. She just could not bear the thought of these people suffering. “I won’t let them!”
“The king’s blessing to make you the next ruler is already in place.” Renman nodded at the princess. “We’ve already laid down the rules. You can only assume the throne when you’re married with Jun, my only son.”
“I just wish that you can know him better before you get married…”
Sayaka took a deep breath and looked at Jun, who hung his head down in a slight bow. She really did not like the fact that in order to protect the country, she has to marry someone. But she had already decided. She gave a small nod at him. “Start the preparations soon as you can,” she said before leaving the room with the Magis bowing down.
Sayaka rushed towards her bedroom, her head cloudy with thoughts. “Can I really do it? Can I really be a good queen to these people?”
“Sayaka, what happened?” Sae asked as the princess got inside the bedroom. Sayaka quickly locked the door behind her and leaned there for a while, breathing deeply.
“I didn’t really want to do this, Sae, but I have to get married to Jun sooner than expected.”

Hello!
I know that Sayaka already graduated and Sae will follow soon and probably we’ll get a new Japanese headline of them getting married in Las Vegas or something.
Anyway, I just want to say that I’m going to continue “Princess Sayaka”. I finally have the idea, the energy, the time, and the inspiration to continue. I won’t be updating regularly but it’s already a concrete idea so... hoping for your support, guys! ;)

OH MY! I was actually visiting this blog earlier (because, as we all know, twin is alive and kicking). Let’s see what I can do. I myself got intrigued with what could have happened in “Princess Sayaka” (because I totally forgot the direction of that story). :D But never ever doubt my love for Sayaka and Sae even though I’m not that active anymore… I do hope to meet the two of them this time….. SOOOOOON…

I know that I'm in hiatus but this message is too much to ignore or just keep to myself. It really made my heart swell in happiness. This also made me think that I really gave Saeyaka justice in this fan fic. After all, I believe that they are really forever and beyond! Though I think a lot of my assumptions in this fic has already been debunked. XD
I think the one who gave the review is also in tumblr? Marauders G.W.? Thank you very much!!!

卒業
Yes, finally, this year I’m going to graduate!
And so I have decided to focus on my studies for this last semester of my last year because of course, this is my last chance (and I’ve been studying for quite some time already). Plus, I am having my internship which takes up a lot of my time and energy.
So, I’m going to be in hiatus. I’m not sure when or whether I’ll be back. Maybe I’ll write when I feel like it. XDD
Besides, I’ve actually been thinking for a while now… lol…
But anyway, thanks for the more than 1 year support. m(_ _)m

P.S. I’ll still do my best to finish “Princess Sayaka” but don’t pressure me or else the remaining chapters will be shit.
Also, please don’t send random e-mails. I am not a beta-reader and I won’t accept requests.
