V 1 triceratops and v2 triceratops, version 1 has a regular sized head, the dead was so small the jaw joint couldn't work. V2 is cuter, with a bigger head and the jaw kinda works. Which one do you like?
I like both, but I think V2 is a seller I think 🤔
Unfortunately I have 2 more weeks at uni, so I should focus on that. This has been a great learning experience ☺️ I really enjoyed playing with this ones features.
Cera the Triceratops is my latest print-in-place dinosaur 3d model.
I learnt a lot by making the Ankylosaurus and the Carnosaurs.
Updates coming once she's been printed.
He needs a name! I made a little bit more progress on the carnosaurs model, I'm currently printing his top half to ensure that my snap-fit ball joints work, especially his little arms. :3
today I started on my next fun design, this time I'm going to focus on snap-fit ball joints and see if I can't make this guy poseable, and figure out a way to get this guy to stand up!
She's all painted and now it's time for her photoshoot.
Abby the Anky is now available on my online Cults3D Store, thank you so much for supporting me through this project ^_^
What should I do next? I'm thinking of maybe a Stegosaurus 🤔
My final Ankylosaurus print-in-place model is complete, I think. She can stand and sit, she has good range of movement in her tail, legs, and body.
This whole project has got my brain buzzing on what the next Dinosaur to make. This could be a Stegosaurus or a triceratops. If you have a neat recommendation list it! I could make it next!
If you would like to see a video on how I make the next one too 😉 let me know if you are interested.
I am loving your 3d models! Do you post or sell them anywhere? I tried looking at the link on your tumblr page but it didn't seem to work.
Hello Ragons, That's a really good question. You have promoted me to quickly update my Blog links ^_^'
I sell my 3D models on my Cults3d store which you can find here: https://cults3d.com/en/users/Tegsta/3d-models
thank you so much in showing interest in my art and contacting me ^_^
This is the third prototype of my Ankylosaurus print-in-place model! I am thrilled with how it's turning out! And she now has leggies! Let me know what you think 🤔 is there any way to improve this design?
I ran out of filament on this print so she now has a cool window into her back showing the ball joints inside her belly, it's really cool and totally intended.
Tyrannosaurus posable jaw test is in the works. This simple project has truly been a brain-stimulating exercise for me. Even in the early days of when I was working with Super Sculpey clay, I really wanted to make sculptures with movable jaws. Unfortunately, the clay material wasn't the best for prototyping; clay can never be as accurate or as intricate as modeling in Blender. I'm glad I pushed myself out of my safe zone and learned 3D modeling. I feel like my potential is unending, and only my imagination is the restriction now.
Sophie the Spinosaurus has finally been completed! If you're interested in making and painting your own Spinosaurus, I've shared my STL files on my Cults3d store.
This project was a massive undertaking, and with each project I feel that my artistic skills and abilities level up.
For this project, I learned how to slice the model for optimal 3D printing results. Additionally, I ventured beyond my usual boundaries with the paint job, which was much more experimental than what I'm accustomed to. I started with a palette of beautiful blues and reds across her body, then daringly painted over my work with black. Trusting in my process was crucial; I then used a lighter dry brush to lighten the entire paint job, effectively revealing the black pattern underneath. The results thrilled me, and I hope you find them just as exciting.
First prototype on my posable print-in-place Ankylosaurus is done. I can see where the movement is restricted, and to fix this I just need to widen the gap where the ball joint rest against the middle body part.
This is an extremely satisfying project so far, I am learning so much.
I'm excited to share a sneak peek into my next project: a poseable, print-in-place Ankylosaurus. Venturing into the creation of joints is a new challenge for me, and I anticipate the need for numerous prototype prints to achieve this. I'm eager to hear your feedback and thoughts. The goal is to make the model highly poseable, incorporating ball joints for the shoulders and legs, along with hinges in the tail to enable lateral swinging.
Here's a quick update on the spinosaurus, shes 2/3 of the way complete, then I can start painting. If you know of a cool colour scheme you want to see for this girl, leave me a comment!
