“We don’t know where to put the young! We don’t know where to put the adults! The women were exposed! Young men are gone! Elders are gone! This is cruel, oh world!”

I need you all to hear the pain in this woman’s voice and the suffering she has seen. My experience in the medical field was voluntary and cut short by my disability, but the sight of the dead, dying and gravely injured is something you never forget. I cannot imagine what she has seen.

Many people say “I am protecting my mental health by not engaging in this media,” and okay, yes, do not spend every hour watching videos from this crisis, it will break you. But do not ignore it altogether to ‘protect your mental health’ while people DIE. While children DIE.

I’m not trying to speak over anyone on this topic so if there’s anything wrong with what I’m saying, tell me and I’ll remove it. I just want to help spread media like this showing the reality of the situation where I can.

brief analysis of this fanart bcuz i am obsessed:

- in the 2nd panel, NHS looks like Alexandre Cabanel’s The Fallen Angel, Lucifer’s eyes briming with tears and rage, expressing nothing but grief and unbridled resentment. this parallel drives me insane!! i love the implications of this comparison

- i think it is also compelling to see that in the 1st panel, NHS’s face is uncovered, he is true, he is vulnerable; but in the 2nd his face is hidden, representing how he hides his true face, his true intentions, continuously keeping the mask on

- i don’t find the words to express the meaning behind the fact that JGY only holds NHS when he is comforting him, to me it adds perversity; manipulation by trying to affect sympathy, it just hurts more to see him embrace NHS after what he’s done

- in the 1st panel, the bird is flying freely in the background, but in the 2nd panel it is trapped in a cage. this could symbolize NHS being trapped in his grief and in his necessity to get revenge. it could also be that, now that he has murdered NMJ, JGY is also trapped in this entire spiel, and has no where to run now that NHS is out to get him

- obviously the color palettes change from cool blues and greens to darker reds and purples, once more depicting the lighthearted, free happiness experienced before, contrasted with the bloodied, sinister atmosphere after NMJ’s murder

i love this fanart sm, and i hope i was able to somewhat put into words why it is amazing

someone i loved once gave me a box full of darkness

my biology professor has such a chaotic energy about him, last week i went to his office hours and somehow we ended up on the topic of gay marriage:

he said that when he lived in texas they changed the law to define marriage as “between a man and a woman in a house of religious worship with the intention to have children” so he filed his taxes as single and when they called him up like “you filed married last year” he was like “you changed the law, i was married by a judge in a courthouse and i have no intention of having kids” and they told him “you know who that law was for” and i guess he hung up on them and did not, in fact, pay taxes as a married man that year

I’ll never understand why anthropomorphic animal cartoons like Robin Hood and Zootopia will go to the trouble of creating character designs that are meant to be understood as “attractive” or even “sexy” to the human audience but explicitly avoid showing interspecies romances between anthropomorphic animals. Why is THAT weird but, like, trying to make rabbits recognizably sexy-coded to humans isn’t?
