Mastery Journal Program Reflection
Pg. 1
   Mastery Journal Program Reflection
By Antoine A. Davis
2/24/17
Final Project: Business Plan
Prof. William Thompson
      Pg. 2
The time has finally come for me to end one mastery journey and begin a new
chapter for another one. This mastery journal was documented from the start of
my graduate school’s time and experience. Now, I am writing in my mastery
journal about the very end of end of it with a recap of the last 12 months and all
of the classes.
The beginning of month one was Mastery - Personal Development and
Leadership. In this class I learned how to dig deep within myself to master all
of my crafts and goals. I had to create a “turning point” video that reflects on
current event in my life at that present and what my goals was by coming back
to earn my Master’s degree.
I also created my very first Tumblr page to share and discuss a few of the topics
that we worked on, reflect on what we learned, and to promote healthy dialog
with others. One of those topics was about my personal hero. Another topic I
did research on was my inspiration paper, which was based on Frederick
Douglas. Lastly, we work on our Mastery Journal as this would be the common
trend at the end of all our classes throughout the next 12 months.
  Pg. 3
In month two, the name of this class was Project and Team Management.
This class showed us how to manage groups of different personalities to
complete task and projects together. At my current job I hold a management
position. The reading and lessons taught me team building activities that I
worked on with some of my classmates.
Next, I worked on an industry research paper that was geared towards my
future career field. With this research paper I needed to discuss four topics. My
career field is Branding and Marketing, and I found a few different topics. At the
end of this class we worked on our Mastery Journal. We discuss our original
thoughts about the class and if the class met our expectations by the end of it.
The third month’s class was Executive Leadership. In this class, I created a
professional Bio for only the second time. I must say with the guidance of this
class, my second professional Bio was much better than the first one. One of
the papers that I had to write about in this class was about personal experience
with a non-effective decision I had to make at work.
Another research paper I had to write about was about someone that I felt was
an effective leader. The person I chose was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. because
of everything he did to make changes for people of color. This same story was
then converted in to a Pecha Kucha presentation. By the end of this class, I felt
that I could handle an executive leadership role for a company.
Pg. 4
The next class was by far my most favorite class of them all. The name of this
class was Business Storytelling & Brand Development. The reason the fourth
month’s class was my favorite was because it is the field I was to work in as far
as my career goes. Learning how to tell the story of my own business, while
also differentiating my brand to build a foundation for my company was
amazing.
Learning how the use of colors can attract certain customers to your brand was
very eye opening. One of the projects I was able to do was a rebranding of a
product, company, or both. This was a two-part project that started with the
creative brand strategy of the logos and the name of changing up the
company’s name. The second part was to create a new Brand Identity Prism
that helps in the rebranding of this company.
Then there was my fifth class, Entertainment Business Finance were we got
down to the Nitti-gritty of total revenue for different companies. We also studied
and learned how to read and understand annual reports. These reports
spanned from a 3-year period and the idea was to learn if there was an increase
or a decrease in profits and spike in spending as well.
A project that I had to create was called “starting your business.” With this
project, I had to explain what exactly is my company’s purpose is, what we
would be doing for our clients, and what we needed to start this business. In a
later assignment we took this same information and
 Pg. 5
to figure out the how to break even in our investment. I learned that I still
struggled a bit in learning how to figure out the business financing and I could
use a lot more work on it.
The sixth month’s class was Negotiation and Deal-Making. In this class we
studied a variety of negotiation of contracts. We also studied how to make
deals when it came to the future of our clients. We also researched the types of
communication styles that each class member may fall under.
The more I research other companies’ dilemmas the more I understood how
critical the negotiation process can be. We watched a video called “Negotiation
a Raise with Game Theory.” What it was teaching us is that you can use a game
like chess and its strategy to negotiation a raise for yourself. All in all, there was
some really good information in this class.
The seventh class of my mastery journal was Product and Artist
Management. I did some research on some managers and had to figure out
their style and traits of management. I also had to give my assessment on if
these managers did well with their artist or did they fail at their jobs.
As for the products we had to research, I had to find a few different products
and analyze if it was managed properly. I also took a look into the review of
management firms that are
 Pg. 6
considered the “major players.” I took a look at the clients they had, the type of
work they did for them, and what other type of services they offered as well.
As for the eight class on this list, it is Advanced Entertainment Law. We
learned all of the things that can be considered a trademark. Things like a
name, a logo, a slogan, a mascot, and characters just to name a few. This class
also taught me about the different intellectual properties related to my future
business.
I learned about the different types of contracts like non-compete agreements,
nondisclosure agreements, work for hire contracts, etc. I also did research on
industry liabilities and discuss the three liabilities in my industry. Afterwards, I
had to come to a conclusion to fix this issue.
Entertainment Media Publishing and Dist. taught the class how to write and
seek some type of media publishing. In this class we also build up the type of
publishing that we were going for. I chose the book publishing deal, even
though this was not the field I wanted to go in. The book publishing deal turned
out to be really fun.
We worked on the different case study based off materials from our readings. I
worked on figuring out what are the different types of case studies for self-
publishing print-on-demand sites. I had to analyze which of the few I looked
into would be the best company to go with in the end.
Pg. 7
Digital Marketing taught me how under stand search engine optimization
(SEO), how to use keyword phrase, and how to implement this for your landing
page or what some might say, your website. Once this was learned I had to
apply this information to my own landing page. I ended up seeing some vast
improvement.
There are also different types of key word phrases. The long three tail phrases
work the best for your landing page. In the digital marketing world, you have to
constantly monitor your landing page and your key word phrases to have better
results. Even adding links to you landing page and/social media accounts can
bring campaign.
Business Plan Development is the class that helps sets up the last and final
class. But BPD also help us all understand what it takes to be a CEO for your
own company. To be able to make your company standout above the rest.
While also understanding your strength, and Weakness of your new start-up
company.
We also worked on a financial goal for our companies. We had to lay out a plan
that would end up with three years’ worth of financial revenue. To go along with
that financial plan, BPD taught us how to write out an effective business plan. I
also can’t for get about the 1-minute elevator pitch, very good knowledge to
have.
 Pg. 8
Final Project: Business Plan is the grand finale of my mastery journal. I had to
record my voice with slide in a Keynote presentation of my 1-minute elevator
pitch. I also learned how to survive the “shark tank” when dealing with a
potential investor.
We learned about obtaining financing for our business through a few different
sites SBA also known as Small Business Administration. We also learned about
the leadership styles that should be used for a new start up company. We
learned and chose which would work best for a new company in the
entertainment industry.
My Mastery Journal may be complete for Full Sail University but it is not
complete for the goal of my own business. This was an amazing journey for me
and a step that I am glad that I made. There is nothing more fulfilling

Final Project EMBS
Final Blog Post for EMBS
For my final blog post in my graduate studies, my discussion will be focused on financing opportunities for a start-up business. I did some research on on this topic by seeing what Opportunity Finance Network had to offer. OFN helps with a variety of investment opportunities. OFN works with development banks, credit unions, loan funds, and venture capital funds.
OFN also offers a slew of programs like business plan for growth training, CDFI community investment fund, next fund for innovation, and executive training for CDFI board members just to name a few. OFN also give back to the community and helps create opportunities for them as well. You can either become a member or an ally of OFN and play a part in with they are doing for the communities and small businesses that they work with.
I also looked into the the background of Association for Enterprise Opportunity. AEO create opportunity for underserved entrepreneurs. Specializing in similar investment projects and programs as OFN, AEO provides data and research for potential microbusinesses. AEO has three types of membership levels a standard, a core, and a premium level membership. The memberships range from zero to $600 dollars.
AEO’s Project CUE: Connecting underserved entrepreneurs is for CDI fund innovations challenge project 1.0. The reason for this program is because per AEO “8,000 credit applications from small businesses are declined.”
Both OFN and AEO work with the urban communities, whether it’s for investing in small businesses, affordable housing, development banks, loan funds, etc. they are helping people of color earn a change at a better living and better opportunities to open and own their own business. Please don’t mistake that they only help people of color, because they help do help all businesses as well.
Being a future business owner myself, this information has definitely given me confidence that I too can eventually own a business.

Mastery Journal: Business Plan Development
My original goal when I first entered this course was to learn everything needed to successfully create a business plan for my future company. I feel that I have done exactly that and more. The teaching of the business plan was more in-depth than I had originally imaged it would be. From the very beginning we were taught how to put together a one-minute elevator pitch and introduction to help prepare us for the unexpected moments with a potential investor.
The next thing that we focused on was the business plan itself. We had to break the business plan down by a lot of categories. I used to think that a business plan would only consist of the name of the company, a description of the what the company does, and a financial plan of how your business plans to used the investor’s money but it was most definitely more to it than that.
When creating a business plan, you are doing more than the previous mentioned. You have to have a detailed breakdown of your company from the founder, President, Vice President, CEO, COO, etc. You also have to know who your target market is, create a way to differentiate your company from your competition, a marketing plan, a sales strategy, a detail list of the company’s operations, the management and organization, and the sales budget.
Rounded out the rest of the business plan, what also needs to be included in it is a budget for your staff, per position of the staff members and also how much per position, the start up cost that you plan to borrow, and the size and type of office that you’re planning to rent out. This is just to name a few of the many pieces of information that will be needed to make a great impression when trying to secure a business loan from a bank, investor, etc.
By learning these thing and getting a better understand of why they are all important, this class has met my goals because I can use all of this in the near future. I plan to use everything that I learned to successfully secure a deal with an investor for my business. There is still a lot more to learn in the final portion of the business plan development final class and I can’t wait to learn even more.
Thanks for reading.

Mastery Journal – Instagram for Business
As my Mastery journey continues towards almost the end of graduate school, it is time for me to start reflecting on my business plan. As I begin prep for this, my current class Digital Marketing is most definitely helping in this area.
In this assignment we are asked to talk about our goals of this course and to also choose from a list of videos to watch and give insight to what we have learned. I am going start with my goals that I hope to gain from this class but first for those who haven’t read my past journal post I want to tell you about the goals for my career.
My goals for the future is to one day be the owner of a branding and marketing company. I want to specialize in everything from brand positioning, marketing, SEO, SQL, web design, and social media. I couldn’t wait to get to my current class of Digital Marketing because I knew that I would learn the essentials required to work in the digital marketing world.
Moving forward to the video I decided to watch from the list that was provided on Lynda.com, I chose to watch Instagram for Business. In this video it shares some of the business opportunities that are available by using Instagram and exactly how you can take advantage of these business opportunities. I personally never really thought of Instagram as more than a place to upload your photos to share with friends and link your account to Facebook and Twitter to share on there as well. One of the key points that I didn’t really what they were used for until now like hashtags when you are promoting your brand and or your services that your business specializes in.
I plan to use the things I learned in this video for my own Instagram account to help bring more awareness to my personal brand and my website as well.

Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution Mastery Journal
My current class is Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution and it has really exceeded my expectations. Originally my goal was just to understand exactly how publishing and distribution worked for all aspects of entertainment. From books, movies, and music I wanted to learn and cover every inch of the publishing and distribution side. In the future I want to be able to help my clients when they are in need of a publishing and distributing company or agent.
The mission became accomplished when I was asked to create a product of my own to have published and distributed. The first step was to pick from the list of products to have published. The next step was to find a publishing and distributing company or agent to shop my work. The next step was to learn how to write a query letter and submit it to the publishing and distributing company or agent in hopes for an approval for them. The additional goal was not to find a talent or booking agent, it was to find a literary, songwriting, or a film sales agent that specializes in shopping my creative content.
Moving forward to once accepted by a publishing and distributing company or agent, I needed to provide them with a formal book proposal. My book was actually a graphic (comic) novel that I had the titled and sub-title, target audience, an about the author section, a list of other competitive titles an introduction, Blurbs (which company that accepted my book idea), my marketing and promotion plan, a detailed table of content, and a paragraph from the first three chapters of my book.
Even though I personally will not have any products to present for myself it was a great experience to be put in the shoes of my potential clients. This was just scratching the surface of the things I learned. From sole proprietors to investment and administrative publishers along with so much more the knowledge I obtained from this classes have been amazing.

Advanced Entertainment Law Mastery Journal.
My journey in Advanced Entertainment Law has been very compelling. I learned that I didn’t truly understand the magnitude of how important intellectual property, copyright law, trademarks, clearances, and rights owners come into play for any business that I would own or company that I would work at.
When given the task of learning how to understanding a contract for an artist. My job was to help and provide the artist knowledge of all the pros and cons within the contract that was presented to them by a manager. I also needed to distinguish if I felt there was value to this contract and if the artist should or should not sign the deal.
I was excited to have to research a few different law cases. The object of this was to find different scenarios that involved liability lawsuits. I came across copyright infringement and liability cases. The cases ranged from small companies to entertainment giants. From music, film, T.V., photography, and comics these case had a broad range, which takes me back to my earlier statement that “I didn’t truly understand the magnitude of how important intellectual property, copyright law, trademarks, clearances, and rights owners” but the more I learned the more wisdom I picked up.
The next exercise I was given the opportunity to learn was how to accurately fill out a business registration form. During this time frame, I learned more about the type of structure I should have my future business under. I choose corporate over structures like limited liability and a few others. The reason I chose corporate is because there was more protection for a corporate business than any of the other options and because I could hold the title of CEO of my company. As a result of learning how to fill out a business registration form, I also learned how to registration my trademark as well.
Furthermore, I have a lot more command of key areas that are truly beneficial for my future business. I do realize that this class does not make me a lawyer in any sense of the word. Nor should I pretend to have all the answers when it comes to the different important intellectual property, copyright law, trademarks, clearances, and rights owners when it comes to my own business. This is something that I can add to my level of mastery as I continue throughout my mastery journal. There is a  light at the end of my graduate school tunnel so I will keep you posted as usual but until next time and thanks for reading.

Mastery Journal for Product & Artist Management
My Product and Artist Management class has been a wonderful experience for me. This class has taught me so much about digital product selling and managing an artist. Allow me to explain the things I learned a little bit further in my classes. I went into this class with an expectation of learning more about artist management in a whole and how to sell their products in the digital world and also in the corporate world. I am leaving this class learning more than what my original objectives were in the beginning.
I did some research on an artist manager from a group of really popular managers. In that research, I was able to understand the manager I selected path to managing music artist and how they were able to grow their career even further. There was also a lot more I learned like how to analyze data from different aspects of business. How to really understand my target markets that I need to be presenting my products to and just how to pinpoint them. I worked on the bigger projects by myself due to being an online student that works 10 to 12 hours a day so it was hard to match up my time with my fellow classmates’ time to collaborate on a great project together. I really would have done a collaboration with a classmate have the schedules matched up much better.
I found out how to truly utilized social commerce and direct distribution to benefit my consumers and along with myself. The two of the biggest things I feel that I learned was the how to start up my own business with the products and how I need to get the word out about my product and secondly was how to be authentic with my customers while selling my product. This class was exactly what I needed as I keep pushing forward in my own mastery journey to earning my Master’s degree and becoming a successful brand strategist. Prof. Winn was an awesome instructor as well.
Thanks for reading.

Mastery Journal: Negotiation & Deal Making
This month’s class of Negotiation & Deal-Making has been absolutely wonderful. In the three weeks that I have been in this class, I have learned how relationship building, gauging a person’s interest, game theory, and the mathematical process is all in association with deal making and negotiation. Some of the main ideas and strategies we talk about were BATNA and WATNA, how to predict the outcome of a negotiation, figuring out what type of communication style inventory that I fit under, and, also how to communicate with people of different communication styles.
I learned to analyze others while in a negotiation while learning how to control my emotions when the deal is not going as planned and also not reacting to the other parties’ emotion while in negotiating with them if they are starting to become frustrated with the entire process. It is now understood by me that not only am I trying to get the best deal for myself or the person that I am representing but the person I am negotiating with is trying to do the same for themselves or the company that they are speaking on behalf of.
I was asked if I knew how others see me as a person in the business setting. I felt my answer still remains the same for the most part but I also learned some new traits about myself that I can use along with all the things mentioned earlier. I had to figure out what were my strengths and my weaknesses while figure out how to improve both areas not just one of them.
Self-confidence is an area that I feel that I am not lacking in. I don’t go overboard with it but I have had so many bumps in the road to my journey and I have been able to over come them all. From all of my other classes, this one is one that I will still need to work on all areas of negotiation and the deal making process but certainly one I am willing to work harder at as I continue my mastery journey to my Master’s degree.

Portfolio professional interview
My portfolio assignment was supposed to be an interview with a Full Sail University Alumni and Hall of Famer inductee this year. That person name is Phil Pallen and due to technical difficulties matching my schedule with Phil’s busy schedule as a Brand Strategist so I decided to write a small portion of Phil’s career and negotiation skills.
Phil’s position allows him to help entertainment industry professionals and businesses build their brands. Although Phil’s doesn’t list his clients by name I can tell you that a few of them worked on The X Factor, The Doctors, and Project Runway just to name a few.
With his popularity he has been able to create a podcast series on iTunes, becoming a celebrity brand expert on Access Hollywood, a motivational speaker, and an author of his first book “Shut Up and Tweet.” http://www.philpallen.co/about/
I recently had the chance a few weeks ago to speak with Phil as he allowed me to pick his brain. Phil is one of the most down to earth people I have ever met that has a celebrity status. Phil could have easily negotiated a fee with me to even speak with me and give me some tips and background on his career field which I just so happen to be interested in but he didn’t which I am very appreciative about.
My conversation with Phil pretty much solidified my desire to want to become a brand strategist in the entertainment industry. This same conversation is also what sparked the idea to interview Phil for my portfolio assignment for my class. Phil negotiates his deals with TV personalities, experts, and businesses but what I couldn’t really find in my research was how he does it examples: on his own, with a lawyer, etc. Here is the questions I was going to ask Phil in my interview just for references purposes.
1: What type of negotiating have you done for yourself in the entertainment industry for helping your clients with their brand? Examples contracts or fees for your services
2: If you can even answer this one with the client confidentiality contracts: Who or what was your first big client or big break in the entertainment industry as a brand strategist?
3: What type of tips for success would you offer someone else that is trying to succeed in the entertainment industry as a brand strategist?
Thank you for reading,

Mastery Journal 5
Mastery Journal: Entertainment Business Finance
As I reflect on my time in my most recent class Entertainment Business Finance. This class has taught me plenty of invaluable lessons about personal and professional finance. I was able to learn about how to familiarize myself with major companies’ financial statements, and their annual reports, while also learning about the time value of money along with understanding how to break-even and investments.
For my final assignment, I worked on a pro forma financials. This assignment helps you understand how to create a Pro-Forma income statement with a presentation for a new company. I was prepped for this assignment from the very first assignment in week one when we learned how to understand different companies’ financial statements and their annual report.
At my first thought was this class would teach me how to be able to take care of my own businesses financial statements whether it was charging my clients my fees for my services, paying the bills in the space I rent, or balance out my annual reports but this class actually exceeded my expectations. I didn’t realize that a lot of what I was going to be learning would also teach me how to me how to apply it to my own personal finances. I have already begun the process of adjusting my all of my financials from the bills I pay to my savings as well.
The most important take away from this finance course for me is the personal finance in the book Successful Business Plan – secrets and strategies. In this chapter, it teaches everything from risk, financial planning goals, investment strategies, and more. I have never bought any stocks or bonds in my lifetime but from what I have read and learned I would be confident in that type of investment once I was to find a good financial advisor to assist me.

Mastery Journal 4.3
My most recent class is called Business Storytelling & Brand Development . This class has been by far my favorite since I decided to classes for my Master’s degree. The reason this class has been my favorite is because of its importances to my mastery journey. Let me refresh you all from my past mastery journals first.
In my past journals, I wrote about my desire to one day open my own branding and marketing firm. My Business Storytelling & Brand Development class taught me a lot more about the business side of branding along with the professional of branding. This class also taught me how to build my own personal brand as well. I learned how to rebrand a company by creating a brand identity prism and also storytelling for a business to build interest for current and new followers of that particular business.
This was absolutely the perfect class for me as I continue my mastery journey to becoming a Brand Manager for the entertainment industry. I can apply the knowledge that I learned from this class to my professional and personal life. I will be starting an internship with SBC3ntertainment as a Brand Manager. I am excited to start as this will give me the opportunity to not only work in the entertainment industry but also build my credibility up for helping a company brand themselves in the social media world.
I will continue to keep you posted about my internship and also keep writing more post about my journey through graduate school. I’m getting closer to my dreams and I’m glad to be sharing my stories with you. Until next time and thanks for reading.
Respectfully,
Antoine A. Davis

Leadership
I’ve had the past two weeks leading up to this week to really think about my leadership style. Currently, I am a manager so I am already in the position of a leader, but I never really reflected on the type of leader I am. I know the role that I have and what needs to be done to help my team all become better employees for themselves first and then the company second. The reason being for that particular order is if they don’t believe in themselves and enjoy what they are learning then how can they accomplish anything for the company?
That being said the leadership style I have chosen is the Maxwell style of leadership. When I say the Maxwell style I am speaking about John C. Maxwell’s book “Developing the Leader Within You.” In his book Maxwell teaches you how to analyze yourself as a leader and understand where you’re coming up short. This book helped me understand my strengths and weakness first so that I can help my staff become better at what’s necessary for them to perform well at their positions. As I stated earlier I never reflected on the type of leader I am, but after reading the Maxwell book and listening to a few podcast I understand that I should have taken a step back to look at myself in the mirror when it came to my own role. I also know that my strengths match some of what was touched on in this book, so that is the other reason I picked it as an appropriate style for myself.
I feel that what I have learned so far that I can use not only for my current and future professional setting but also for my personal life as well. Problem Solving was one of the chapters I had to read in the Maxwell book. In that chapter, it breaks down how my problem-solving skills will always be needed and shows a graph of where people turn to when they are in need of help. Now as I start to transition from my current job into my mastery career field will I have to use styles from the Greene book? Maybe, but for now, I am perfectly fine with how my approach is now and using a ton of these skills to become a better overall leader for my future team in the entertainment industry and also myself.

Mastery Journal
My Project and Team Management class taught me an abundant of skills to use in my personal and professional life. These same skills also change some of my perspectives from my original Mastery Journal I wrote a month ago.
The team building activity was used to teach us how to work together as a team while figuring ways to troubleshoot issues without placing blame on one another, and also building a better working relationship. As a current manager, I can walk into work tomorrow and use these teachings with my employees and instill some great tools for all of them. The team building activity can also be used in your personal lives as well in my opinion. The goal again is to figure out how to find a root of the problem without point blame on someone.
The character studies helped me to understand the different personalities when dealing with employees, customers, and people you know in your own lives as well. Everyone has to be treated differently when dealing with their temperament at the time of the situation.
My original Mastery Journal listed the things that I wanted to work on personally and professionally in order to achieve my goal of becoming a Marketing Manager. After taking the Project and Team Management class not much has changed from my original journal except the fact that I added a few other things added to the list to work on. The main goal is still in place which is to find a job where I can enhance my skills in my dream career field. As a leader in a different career field now I can start applying what I learned this month while still searching for a job as Marketing Manager in the entertainment field before graduation.
I will keep plugging away at everything I learn for the remaining 10 months I have left at Full Sail University while updating my changes in my Mastery and Personal Journal.

Industry Research Blog
Industry Research Blog:
Four Topics on: Branding and Marketing.
By Antoine A. Davis
Topic One:
When it comes to Branding and Marketing a lot of people and companies do not realize there are important differences between the two areas. Today I am going to beak down just how different the two areas and why they need to have a separate focus to see improvement in both areas.
In the article I found one http://www.marketingdonut.co.uk/marketing/marketing-strategy/branding/branding-and-marketing-what-s-the-difference- marketing expert Mark McCulloch talks about the things he learned about the two topics from his mentor Robert Bean.
In the branding section McCulloch quotes Robert Bean definition of branding by calling it a “promise delivered.” The short answer of this definition is that you are promising to deliver results to whatever it is that your business does and/or sells to your consumers. Failure to do so can and will hurt your reputation or as I like to say you brand.
Now let’s focus on what marketing is. My definition for marketing the promotion and selling of a product or service. As you can see this differs from branding because it now focusing on how to advertise the product or service to the consumer. In a article I found on http://www.tronviggroup.com/the-difference-between-marketing-and-branding/ they simply state branding as being strategic and marketing as being tactical. This is important when working in the marketing and branding field because how you approach the two could make or break you career in this field.
Topic Two:
Next I am going to talk about one strategy used with branding and one used in marketing. In these two steps for each category I picked out what I believe are the most important for the both of them.
Branding strategy: Focus on what differentiates your brand. In the article I found on https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/226603 this step is actually third on the list, but the reason I picked it as the most important one is because it can be used for a product, a service, or someone trying to build themselves as a brand. In the entertainment industry; whether it is an actor, an artist, a band etc. they all need someone to help sell themselves as different than anything or anyone else in their respected field. This to me should be the top priority no matter who or what brand you are trying to help build.
Marketing strategy: Partner with allies. This idea comes from the article on http://www.inc.com/murray-newlands/15-marketing-strategies-that-inspire-strategic-thinkers.html in which they suggest that teaming up and creating a marketing partnership is a
great idea that can benefit you in many different forms. The partnership can help you collaborate on ideas, financially it could cost you less to market your ideas when its shared by another party, you can see more success faster, and can be introduce you to different audiences.
Topic Three:
This topic I am going to focus on leadership, because let’s face it you’re truly not working alone when it comes to working on a branding and marketing campaign. With that being said I am going to touch base on two things I feel are very important for leaders to do in the branding and marketing field.
One: Follow through on commitments: As I mentioned earlier when it came to branding is that you are delivering on a promise. So when you make a commitment to that statement you must follow through on it. I found an article on Inc. http://www.inc.com/peter-economy/5-things-that-good-leaders-always-do.html which stresses the importance of following through on your commitments.
Two: Effective marketing leaders mentor; they don’t micro-manage. As a leader it is your job to help train and build up your team that you will be working with. If they don’t have the confidence and the necessary tools they need to be effective in the office ad field, then it your job to make sure that they do. In the article on I researched on http://www.marketingprofs.com/articles/2014/24690/seven-traits-of-an-effective-marketing-leader it further backs my opinion about being an mentor to your team.
Topic Four:
The last topic I am going to talk about is passion. Using myself as an example how I became passionate about want to work in the branding and marketing field is because of past failures in my music career. To give you the short version of the story I have been a music professional since age 16 and every time I thought I was close to mainstream success that opportunity somehow never ended up surfacing. So I decided to go the independent route musically only to have similar results if not worst due to not knowing how to build my brand, along with marketing, and promoting my music as a producer. I decide to go back to school to earn my music production degree, but once I came to Full Sail University I found that the more I had classes that taught us how to promote ourselves, create music for other markets (not ones you are already familiar with) and how to build a brand I knew right then and there that I wanted to help other in the entertainment industry with these areas. I found my calling and it was not really music anymore; it became a passion for branding and marketing.
In this article http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/newsandeventspggrp/imperialcollege/businessschool/newssummary/news_22-6-2011-14-56-24 it has a gentleman by the name of Vernon Bradley who didn’t even go straight in to marketing right are college. In fact, he has in Economics degree not a Marketing degree, but currently works in marketing for Nestle and speaks about his passion for this field. Also I found an article about branding my passion. https://tanglecreative.com/branding-your-passion/ This article is more or less helpful and informational for any field not just the branding and marketing field that I want to be in. I will be using her ideas to help get myself our there more as a potential brand developer and marketer.
Thanks you for stopping by and reading my blog.
Sincerely,
Antoine Davis

Inspiration
The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. – H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
This quote is very simple, but at the same time very powerful. The reason being is because of how we as humans for get this step with our busy lives. I personally tend to forget to do my best at all times because of so much that is going on in my life. This quote is a good example of how I need to do my best right now and not tomorrow in order to master my goals.
