Is this our destiny? part 2.

After a while, the rescuers with the dispatcher and the children began to carry out what they agreed on: the children stayed with the rescuers and began to study books, and Jin decided where they would undergo this kind of “training” with the weapons that they received and at the same time monitored the weather apparatus. Rescuers, meanwhile, were busy with their morning duty.

“I’m glad to hear it.” Jin said this with relief. The rescuers looked at the children and saw them with closed books.

“Were you able to find out anything?” Helly asked the children, they both nodded, but without enthusiasm.

“It looks like the news is not good.” Amber said this, the children nodded again, confirming the words of the rescuer.

“Well, we were able to find out a little about what these creatures were that Mr. Hiro told us about...” - Conrad began and looked at Kim.

“These creatures, as we were told, call themselves “cultists.” And in the book that was provided to me, there is a story from one of these creatures who came over to our side. And he helped the guardian, who was a hundred years ago. the creature wrote that in addition to hunger, these creatures experience an incomprehensible hatred of us all. But there are exceptions, the book is a witness to this." The taller boy told what he found out. This was not very good news for everyone. They decided to find out the rest of the information in order to build a more or less complete picture.

“What about you, Conrad?” Poli asked the boy with glasses.

“Well, in my book it is written that this battle between people and these creatures began long before us. They also mainly appear in the forests of our town. It also says that there are still people with a similar fate like us, but they are outside our town, that's for sure. And here the point is confirmed that these creatures appear EVERY night." Conrad replied, emphasizing certain information.

“Wait... did you say every night?” Jin repeated this, to which the boy nodded.

“This is bad. If any of the residents find out about this, then panic will set in very quickly and we will have problems.” Jin said this to herself, the rest of the rescuers agreed with her.

“Then it would be better to test the weapons that were provided to us. But preferably in a place where they won’t see us.” Amber suggested this.

“Yes, but also so that the children won’t be seen.” Roy added to Amber, and this also had its own truth.

"But can't we do testing here?" Poli asked this.

“Yeah, isn’t this the best option?” Helly agreed with Poli’s question.

“This is not a suitable option, we do not have such a room to conduct testing, and also the residents know where we live and if they see us with weapons, they will have questions. Therefore, it is better to conduct it in another place” Jin answered question.

“Isn’t it possible to check in the lower part of the garage?” Helly clarified this. The children were surprised by this information; they knew about the garage, but not about the lower part of the garage itself.

“There are no dummies on which weapons could be tested and who knows whether children need to use the powers that they received or not.” Jin noticed this. Everyone began to think about what to do. A figure appeared in front of him, approximately his height, but resembling a man. New text appeared on the screen:

'Extend your hand forward onto the figure.' Poli did as instructed in the text. The characteristics of the gun appeared on the screen, after the characteristics the text appeared: 'Weapon power is currently 50%. It is not fatal to people, vehicles or animals. But for “cultists” this is deadly power. Now focus your thoughts on activating the weapon.' Poli was surprised but began to focus his thoughts, he and the others began to hear interesting sounds, but the screen showed that the weapon was not ready to fire yet, so he continued to focus on activating it. After a couple of seconds, everyone heard a sound similar to pip-pap being mixed together. Everyone was surprised by this, including Poli. But when the rescuer's thoughts switched from activation, a blue laser surprisingly suddenly flew out with such force that the recoil of the laser pushed Poli back a short distance. The laser hit the hologram, causing it to disappear and new ones to be created. The rescuer kept his balance even though Roy and Amber were ready to catch him. Everyone noticed that the text on Poli's screen had changed. The text was as follows:

'When the weapon is loaded, you will hear a beep and then turn your thoughts to the shot or other senses, but not to loading the weapon. As you just did in this example.'

'Training completed. Click on the circle image on your device.' When Poli saw this message he started checking the device. There was indeed another circle and the rescuer pressed it, the screen with the text disappeared, the device changed shape into a cube and the straps came unhooked from the police car's arm. The cube flew into the air and Poli caught it.

“It was faster than I thought.” Poli said this to himself.

“It turns out that these devices work from thoughts?” Conrad asked this with bewilderment.

“Probably just my device with Roy, Amber and Helly, but I’m not sure.” the police car answered the question.

“Can I try?” Helly asked, to which everyone nodded. Poli went to the others, and Helly flew forward. Landing on the ground, he put the device on his right hand. As with Poli, the device lit up and released straps that secured themselves on the junior rescuer's arm. A ball from the device appeared and created a laser, divided into two with a grid, which began to scan Helly, after scanning the laser disappeared and a screen appeared. The screen showed his profile and his characteristics, and seconds later the characteristics began to appear, which were self-adjusting. The cube changed its shape to a weapon and the settings were completed, the following appeared on the screen:

'Settings completed successfully. Want to start training? Start now. Start later.' Helly clicked 'Start Now'. New text appeared: 'Wait a minute.' After the text, the ball headed towards the forest and created a hologram that was in the air. Helly flew into the air, not high, but he moved away from the ground. A message appeared on the screen: 'Reach your hand forward onto the piece.' Helly did as written. A new message appeared on the screen: 'Weapon power is currently 50%. It is not fatal to people, vehicles or animals. But for “cultists” this is deadly power. Now focus your thoughts on activating the weapon.' The junior rescuer began to concentrate and as with Paulie, the weapon began to charge. Seconds later, the weapon made a sound and the text changed:

'Now switch your thoughts from charging to shooting.' Helly was able to switch his thoughts quickly and a green sphere flew out of the cannon and hit the hologram. Everyone was surprised by this, Helly checked to see if his weapon had indicators or something similar, but found nothing. New text appeared on the screen:

'Your weapon has no indicators because it was intended that you would be able to fire multiple times in a row. That's why you don't have a long charge, but in the form of spheres.' Helly was surprised by this message, as if the system saw and understood what he was looking for. Suddenly new holograms appeared and began to fly up and down. The text on the screen has changed:

Helly began shooting at both holograms. He was able to calculate the right moment and hit each of them. The text on the screen changed again:

'Training completed. Click on the circle image on your device.' Helly looked at the device and was able to find the circle. By clicking on it, the screen disappeared and the device began to change its shape. Having turned into a cube, the device unhooked the straps from Helly’s hand and the younger one caught the device.

“That was something.” Kim said quietly to himself. Only Conrad heard him, but he agreed.

“It turns out that a certain part of the training is different for us.” Amber assumed this, since she and the others noticed that part of the training was different.

“And at the same time, most likely, the appearance is loaded with charges.” Poli complemented her.

“Okay, now it’s my turn.” Jin said this, which surprised everyone, but accepted the answer. Helly flew to the side, giving the girl space. Her gun had a weird rectangular compartment at the bottom, something the kids' guns didn't have. She pressed the button to turn on the gun. Her gun also had a scanning system hidden in it and she began scanning the girl. After a while, the system showed a screen with her profile and characteristics. Then the characteristics of weapons appeared again, which were customizable. After this, the characteristics disappeared and the text appeared on the screen:

“What? These guns are easy to use!” Jin said this, perplexed by the text.

“Maybe because of the differences in technology the sistyem offer you training?” the junior rescuer suggested this.

“They are easy to learn! What else can you learn here?” Jin said this in even greater bewilderment.

“Even if so, you should agree, otherwise you won’t be able to use it.” Roy noticed this, Jin not reluctantly, but in her thoughts agreed with the rescuer.

'Point the gun at the silhouette and pull the trigger.' Jin did as she was told. But when she fired, instead of a loud shot there was the sound of a laser flying out. The laser was orange and hit the hologram. After that, a new one appeared, new text appeared on the screen:

'Your device has a rectangular compartment at the bottom. There is a red button on the right side of the compartment: press it.' Jin turned the gun over and found this button, she pressed it. Suddenly the device changed shape, it changed into the weapon that Poli and Helly had, which surprised everyone. Jin took the devices in both hands, afraid to drop it. New text appeared on the screen:

'Place the weapon on one of your hands.' Jin decided to put it on her right hand for practice. The device released a strap that secured itself to the girl's lower arm. New text appeared on the screen:

There she saw a triangular button of an interesting green color. By pressing it, the device took the shape of a gun. A new instruction appeared on the screen:

'Now press the button on the top of the gun.' By pressing the button the gun turned off. The girl and the others were surprised by all this.

The firefighter focused on the activation and after a few seconds everyone heard a beep, the text changed again:

'Now switch your thoughts from charging to shooting.' Roy did this and a red laser flew towards the figure. The laser hit the target. A new hologram appeared, which was much larger than the previous one. New text has appeared:

'Your weapon's power can be changed. Change the pointer position to 70%.' Roy looked at the device and saw this pointer. It changed the pointer position to 70%:

'Now try to fire the shot, but when you hear the beep, fire the charge 2-3 seconds after you hear the sound.' Roy was surprised by this, but decided to do what was written in the said text. He extended his hand again and began to wait for the charging to finish. The beep sounded again, but Roy waited. After 3 seconds he fired, the laser became brighter and larger. “It’s all gone. There was a slight headache, but now it’s all gone.” Roy answered the question.

“But why did your head start to hurt?” Helly asked the elder.

'You have a pointer. Now it is set to "one", switch to "long".' Amber saw this sign and changed its position. The text has changed again:

'Now shoot the figure again.' Amber turned her attention back to loading her weapon. After a few seconds, the weapon charged and Amber focused on the shot, the hollagram also began to prepare. They both fired at the same time. Everyone noticed that Amber’s laser is longer than last time and it doesn’t stop. The text on Amber's weapon screen has changed:

'In this mode the laser will not stop until it receives a command from you. As soon as the laser hits the figure, focus on thinking about stopping the shot.' Amber accepted this instruction and waited. The rescuer's laser began to move closer to the figure and soon hit the target. Amber immediately made the laser stop, it stopped moving. The text has changed to something else:

'Settings completed successfully. Want to start training? Start now. Start later.' Kim clicked the 'Start Now' button. New text appeared: 'Wait a minute.' A hollagram appeared in front of Kim, taller than him, slightly taller than Jin. The text appeared on the screen:

'Point the gun at the silhouette and pull the trigger.' The boy pointed the gun at the hollagram and after a couple of seconds fired a shot. The laser was purple, fortunately Kim hit it the first time. A few seconds later a new hologram appeared. The text has changed again:

'Now create small particles of fire and water. First move the fire to the top of the gun, then the water. The ground and wind are not suitable for such shots.' Kim stepped in after the text. At the same time, realizing the problem, not only will he have to create a potentially dangerous force, but also in the presence of rescuers. Especially under Roy, and Kim will get it worse from him.

“Can’t this part of the program be postponed or something like that?” Kim asked this quietly to himself so as not to be heard. Suddenly the system gave an answer:

All the elders and Conrad looked at Kim with bewilderment. The boy felt these glances on himself and when the text changed, he was glad:

'Training completed. Press the button on the top of the gun.' Kim did this, the screen disappeared and the gun turned off. Kim had already begun to mentally prepare for death.

“Kim...” here it is, that voice of his death, or rather the voice of Roy. He turned with a nervous smile to the others, the rescuers and Jin looked with seriousness, and Conrad was perplexed.

'Your laser is now infused with the power of lightning. Try to shoot with the force of lightning.' Conrad pointed the gun at the figure again and pulled the trigger again. The laser came out and this time there were elements of lightning with it. Fortunately, the boy did not miss and hit the figure. The Hollagram was covered with small lightning bolts and then disappeared. He hoped in his heart that the rescuers would not kill him too badly. The text has changed:

'Training completed. Press the button on the top of the gun.' Conrad quickly pressed the button, preparing for a lecture from the rescuers. He heard steps in his direction and the sounds during the steps revealed who it was: one of the cars. Conrad turned slowly and with a cautious smile to the others. When he turned around, he squeaked quietly in fear and surprise. In front of him he saw Poli, who was looking seriously at the child. The boy became nervous, realizing that questions would start coming to him.

“Remember how Kim told us all that fire and water with a laser were part of his training program?” Conrad asked Poli, to which he nodded. The boy continued: “I had it too, but with lightning.” Poli was surprised by what the child said. The others were also surprised by this answer.

“But how did you learn to control your powers so quickly?” Helly asked this, both children became nervous.

“We...are actually working on it.” Kim answered the question carefully. All the elders turned to him with questioning glances. The taller boy noticed this and knew what to do: "I mean, Conrad and I know how to make powers appear and how to make them disappear. As it is, we only know the basic skills and are still working on it." He complemented himself. The rescuers and the dispatcher looked at each other, then they looked at Conrad, who nodded, confirming Kim's words. The rescuers and the dispatcher were surprised by this. They didn't know what to say. They realized something...

“Wait a minute, how did you both know how to use guns?” Amber asked the children.

“Well...we sometimes shot with a slingshot and thought that the shooting technique was a little similar.” Conrad answered, which surprised the elders. Kim nodded at Conrad's words.

“How do you have enough time for all this?” Poli asked this, to which the children shrugged their shoulders.

“It will be better if we return to the station, there we will decide what to do next.” Jin said this, to which everyone nodded. And everyone is careful, so that they don’t see the children and return to the station. The children began to study the books in more detail while the rescuers decided what to do next.

The time was already 2 o’clock in the afternoon and the children saw the following information in Conrad’s book: “The time of the attack of the “cultists” depends on the time of year. The attack begins: in autumn at 6 o’clock in the evening, in the winter at 5 o’clock in the evening, in the spring at 7 o’clock in the evening, in the summer at 8 o'clock in the evening." The children looked at each other, realizing what they had to tell the rescuers. However, although they were shown the main room, where the rescuers and the dispatcher usually are, they were slightly afraid to go to them, not knowing whether they would distract the elders. They decided to study the remaining information for now: "If the guardians for some reason do not go on patrol (if they are able to go), then the symbols will begin to cause pain until they go on patrol. Or even worse: the powers will begin to control their bodies and take them to the patrol site without allowing them to rest. In the same way, the attack will continue until the 'cultists' leave on their own. And so it will be every night."

“I hope this doesn’t happen to us, well, I’m talking about the part where our powers will control us.” Kim said this, with which Conrad agreed. They didn't hear anyone approaching them.

“Kids?” both boys looked up and saw Roy, who drove up to them. He continued: “Were you able to find out anything?”

“Well, we were able to find out about the patrol time and now it will be at 8 pm.” Kim answered the question.

"At 8 pm? Then we should be ready for patrol." Roy said his thoughts out loud.

“Were you able to come up with something?” Conrad asked the fire truck.

“Not yet. We will all need to understand what these creatures look like and how long the patrol will last. And honestly, we hope that nothing will distract us from this.” The firefighter answered the question. The children didn’t understand at first, but then it dawned on them what Roy meant. "Unless there are any emergencies." They mentally agreed with Roy.

“We hope too.” Kim said this in order to at least somehow support the rescuer, with which Conrad agreed. Roy was glad that the children understood him and the others. But that was part of the reason he stopped by the break room.

“Kids, we have a small request to ask of you.” Roy began, the children began to listen to him. He continued: “In an hour, School B will have to come here and bring the children for a safety lesson. Can you sit quietly so as not to be heard?” After the fire truck’s words, the children nodded.

“Thank you very much.” Roy thanked the children. They smiled faintly at the fire truck's words.

“What topic is the lesson on, if it’s not a secret?” Conrad asked this.

“The lesson will be on what to do during a thunderstorm and how to avoid injury.” Roy answered the child’s question. The children looked at each other in surprise.

“Shouldn’t they explain such things at school?” Kim asked this because he and his friend did not understand this point.

“They should, but we will explain material that may not be given there. And not all parents can explain about the thunderstorm, so to some extent we will explain it.” The fire truck explained what was happening. It was a bit of a surprise for them. But they decided not to bother Roy with more questions and nodded, accepting the answer from the elder.

“If you need anything, let us know.” Roy said this, to which the children nodded. And Roy left the break room.

“At 8 pm?” Poli asked Roy, to which he nodded. Roy told the others the information he heard from the children. This was a surprise to all of them.

“Isn’t this too early? If we take it by the standards of the night.” Helly asked this, perplexed by the information that he and the others received.

“This is all really surprising.” Amber said this, with which the others agreed.

“Then we’ll be on our guard, after all, we don’t know what those creatures are capable of.” Jin said this, to which everyone nodded. An hour later, as Roy said, School B arrived and brought the children. Both boys did not make a sound, so as not to give themselves away, after all, they were asked not to make noise. The safety session conducted by the rescuers ended at 4 pm. School B went to take the children home. The rescuers and the dispatcher decided to inform both boys that the lesson was over. When they entered the break room, they saw that both children were reading a book that belonged to Kim. Hearing the sound of the door opening, the children turned towards the door.

“Did something happen?” Conrad carefully asked the rescuers and the dispatcher.

“No, we just wanted to say that we have finished our lesson and will get ready for patrol.” Poli explained the situation.

“Oh, okay. We’ll get ready then too.” Conrad responded to the explanation. The rescuers and the dispatcher headed to the main room. When the children were left alone, one of them decided to speak:

“Why does it seem to me that you and Poli don’t get along very well?” Kim asked his friend, who was surprised by the question.

“Well, you get more trouble from him, although he was not the first to know about your nightly walks.” Kim said this as if it were obvious. Conrad chuckled slightly nervously, surprising Kim.

“Yes, he was not the first to know about night walks, but he caught me more often. This was before i met you.” Conrad explained the reason for his laughter.

“And how often did he catch you?” Kim asked this.

“Let’s just say that it would be a surprise for me to see the others than him.” Conrad answered with a shrug.

“Although it’s ironic that my current eye color is similar to the color of his body,” the boy with glasses said to defuse the situation.

“It will be even more ironic if you start wearing blue clothes.” Kim said this, to which Conrad lightly hit his friend in a friendly manner on the left arm, while laughing. Kim smiled too. Both boys began to look forward to the evening.

It was 7 pm and rescuers received a call. Everyone was surprised, but Jin put on her headphones and pressed the button.

“Rescue team. This is Jin.” after the dispatcher’s words, Cleany appeared on the screen, which was a surprise to everyone.

“Jin, this is urgent! Cap and Posty are now hanging on the edge of a cliff on Seventh Street.” Cleany explained what was happening.

“I understand, the team will arrive now.” Jin said this, the rescuers understood what to do and began to leave for the operation. Jin hoped that this operation would not take too long. The children heard the sirens and were surprised by this. They decided to go out and find out what was happening, they saw rescuers leaving the station with the sirens turned on. They both looked at each other in bewilderment. The children decided to check with Jin about what was going on. They carefully entered the main room.

“Um...Jin?” Conrad called the dispatcher, to which she turned to the children.

“What happened?” Kim asked her.

“We got a emergency and the guys went to help the residents.” the girl explained what was happening.

“Will they have time to return?” The children asked at the same time.

“I hope that they will make it in time and there will be no incidents before the patrol.” Jin said this. Well, she was wrong. After that operation, a new call came in and Jin was asked to stop by one of the houses. The children hoped that the others would make it in time before the patrol began. It was already 8 pm, and the rescuers and dispatcher had not returned yet.

“Maybe we should wait a little longer?” Conrad said this, Kim wanted to agree, but suddenly his symbol began to glow and he covered his left eye. Conrad wanted to ask what happened, but his symbol also began to glow and Conrad covered his right cheek, they both groaned in pain.

“Looks like the time has come for the patrol.” Kim said this. The children understood what to do, they took their weapons and headed into the forest. They decided to find out for themselves what they and the rescuers and the dispatcher would have to deal with. Both boys turned on their pistols and the scanning system authorized them. The children arrived in the forest as quickly as they could and began exploring. As they walked through the forest, a strange feeling did not leave them. After walking through the forest for 10 minutes, they began to feel something strange that made them tense.

"Um, Conrad?"

"Yeah?"

“Don’t you feel something...unusual?” Kim asked his friend carefully.

“I think I feel it. It’s like I feel someone’s presence?” Conrad answered the question and tried to explain what he felt.

“Me too. And as if this someone… is approaching us?” Kim said this, with which Conrad agreed. This someone was on the left side of the children, at least that’s how the children determined where this someone was coming from. They stopped and looked to the left, but saw no one. After looking at each other, they decided to continue on their way. But just as they wanted to move on, a strange growl was suddenly heard. They stopped in horror. The children looked to the left again, but before they had time to see anyone, they were hit and flew to the right. Their flight was stopped by the tree they crashed into, and both boys groaned in pain and tried to get up. Kim noticed that they would try to attack them again. He grabbed Conrad's left hand with his right hand and pulled him away from the tree to the left. He managed to pull them away; this someone did not have time to attack the children, but left a huge cut on the tree, as if the cut had been left by a wild animal.

The two children saw what looked like a man in a strange white robe, his head covered with a hood. On the right sleeve was the symbol of a man with his eyes crossed out. When this someone turned to the children, on the left sleeve there was a symbol of a crossed out car, and the skin was not naturally white. The children noticed this and they again heard the growling that they had heard before the attack. This someone prepared for a blow, the children barely had time to react to it. They moved away in different directions, but this something did not plan to give up, it wanted to strike again. Kim accidentally pulled the trigger and the laser flew into the silhouette. The children saw how the limbs and body of this someone began to turn into dust. And the robe fell on the grass. Both children stood in shock and horror.

“This is...” Conrad began, but was unable to say the rest.

"......This isn't human?" Kim asked the general question out loud. Then they heard growls again, not just one, but several. They came from the direction where something had attacked the children. They looked in the direction of the growls and saw that several more of these “people” were approaching them.

“Wait...maybe...these are the “cultists” we were warned about?” Kim said this with horror and awareness. Conrad also came to this realization. But before he could answer, the creatures began to attack the children. The children quickly moved away in different directions, but Conrad could not keep his balance and fell on the grass. The creature tried to attack the child, but the boy quickly pointed his gun and shot the creature. But on the left side of the child there was another creature, Conrad tried to get up, but he could only crawl a short distance, and the blow almost hit him. The child shot the creature again. Kim walked towards the tree, trying to dodge the blow of these creatures. There was also an attack from the boy’s right side, Kim ducked down as quickly as he could, the creature hit the tree. Kim was able to point the gun at the creature that attacked from the right side and fired, then he pointed the weapon at another creature and hit it. He stood up and saw how Conrad was being attacked, the boy with glasses tried to dodge, but one of the creatures attacked him in the stomach and he flew into a tree, away from Kim.

Kim wanted to go and help his friend, but he felt an aura on his right side. He looked to the right and saw how they were trying to attack him again. The boy reacted and dodged the blow, but he felt a blow to his back and flew towards the tree. He was attacked by another creature.

Conrad, meanwhile, was able to get up and fight off the creatures. Although it was not without difficulty, he still had wounds from the blow. He saw how his friend was thrown away, the child with glasses wanted to go to him, but he was not allowed to do so. One of the “cultists” attacked from the left side of the child and the “cultist” hit him. The child rolled and stopped, turning over on his stomach. He looked up from the ground and noticed how they were trying to attack him, the creature began to quickly move towards the child. The boy realized that he would not have time to get up and he focused on something else. At the last second before the attack, the boy closed his eyes. Not feeling any pain from the blow, he opened his left eye and saw the following: a crystal was emerging from the ground and pierced the head of the creature. What was left of this creature was the robe. Conrad stood up and made the crystal disappear. The stone cracked and evaporated into a sheen, and the mantle fell to the ground. He heard the sound of a laser and realized that Kim had fired the shot. Conrad wanted to start looking for his friend, but he saw Kim approaching him, he was limping a little while walking. At the same time, he carried several robes with him.

“How are you, Kim?” Conrad asked with excitement for his friend.

“Alive, already good.” the taller boy answered. As he approached his friend, he noticed several robes lying on the grass. Conrad also noticed this picture. It looked like the creatures weren't planning to attack...for now.

“It looks like we have found out who we are dealing with.” Kim said this with all seriousness. Conrad wasn't happy about it either.

“But the rescuers may think that these are people and these creatures will hurt them. Or worse.” Conrad said this, with which Kim agreed in his heart.

“It’s a pity that we can’t tell them about this-” the tall boy didn’t finish the sentence when it clicked in his head.

“Conrad, help me collect the robes.” Kim asked, to which the boy with glasses nodded. He and his friend began to collect robes. They collected all the robes that were in the part of the forest where they were. However, he put one on the ground. Conrad roughly understood what Kim wanted to do. A boy with long hair found a branch covered in mud and decided to use it as a writing object. After 2-3 minutes he left a message and left the robe lying on the ground.

“Why did we collect the rest?” the boy with glasses asked his friend.

“Let’s just say we put things in order and remove the trash.” Kim answered the question.

“Yeah, but where should we put them?” There are a lot of them here and-" Conrad didn't finish when an idea came to him. He started looking for something and found it. He found a large branch that was suitable for the base of a torch. Kim looked at it with surprise and question.

“Kim, wrap a few robes around the branch. And at the same time, tie your sleeves, please. Or we can just tear them off, you know, like bandages.” Conrad asked Kim to do this, to which the boy nodded. The taller boy did as Conrad asked him to do. What he decided to do with the sleeves was to tear them off and decide to use cleaner ones in case the wounds started to bleed. He wrapped two robes around one branch.

“It's done.” Kim said this. Conrad was glad of this.

“Can you light the fabric?” Conrad asked this, but Kim had a face of misunderstanding

“Are you kidding me?! I almost got hit by the rescuers for this!” Kim said this quite loudly, thinking that he would get a second time from his elders.

“No, you didn't get it. It will be like a flashlight for us. Even if your fire is darker than usual.” Conrad clarified this, Kim understood what his friend wanted to do. He then smiled.

“I see. Then hold the branch and at the same time take the sleeves, which are clean.” Kim asked his friend, and he himself stood behind the mantle, on which there was a message. Conrad did as his friend asked. He hung his sleeves on his right hand and took a branch in his left. Kim took the mantle with the message and began to think about how to make it visible to rescuers. He saw a branch on a tree and another tree quite nearby. He came up with something: he stepped back a little, then began to accelerate towards the tree that was next to the one he needed. The boy jumped onto that tree and then pushed himself towards the one he needed, he pierced the hood and the mantle remained on the branch. He landed and ran towards Conrad, the boy with glasses saw this and began to wait for his friend. Kim approached his friend quite quickly and the children began to carry out the plan. But before that, Kim took a couple of robes with him, and he set the rest on fire. Having the right moment, he put out the fire, after which he lit the fabric on the branch.

“I hope the rescuers won’t be delayed too long.” Kim said this with the hope that this would be the case. Conrad nodded and he and his friend continued on their way. They started walking the same way they were going. The fire didn't provide much light, but it helped a little. They lived in horror, realizing that they would have to go through pain and suffering. The children didn't know what to think.

“Kim, how many of these creatures do you think there will be?” Conrad asked Kim, to which he shrugged.

“I hope not too much.” Kim replied, and he and Conrad really hoped so......

The "cultists" attacked the children without an ounce of pity. The children tried to fight them off, but they had difficulty. Having fought off the last creature, Conrad barely stood up from his wounds, the left lens was broken into pieces, the clothes were torn and there were wounds on the child’s body that were bleeding. Kim also tried to get up, which the boy with glasses noticed. He walked up to Kim and grabbed him by the left shoulder.

“Can you stand?” Conrad asked his friend, he nodded, but groaned in pain. Conrad wanted to ask Kim about his condition, but did not have time.

“We need to get rid of the robes. I’ll be quick.” Kim said this and he went to collect the robes, the boy with glasses also tried to help collect the clothes. They gathered the robes into one pile and lit them. After all the robes were burned, the tall boy put out the fire. He understood that they would be in trouble if the rescuers found out what they did with the clothes. But the evidence had to be disposed of.

“They’ve been gone for a long time. What happened to them?” Conrad noticed this. Indeed, the children have been patrolling for 2 hours, and still there were no rescuers and a dispatcher.

“Maybe everything is worse there than we think? And that’s why they linger.” Kim noticed this, the boy with glasses shrugged. But he realized something:

"Kim, listen. At some point we start to feel something strange, right?" Conrad began, to which his friend nodded. The boy continued: “And every time we start to feel something, these creatures appear. Don’t you find this a coincidence?”

“You mean we can feel them?” Kim clarified this, Conrad nodded at this.

“Then it makes sense, it’s not just a feeling. It’s the aura of these creatures.” the tall boy said his thoughts out loud. But he tripped over his own foot and almost fell if Conrad had not managed to catch him. Both children decided to continue on their way until the patrol time was over......

“Did they call you, too, Jin?” Amber asked, to which the dispatcher nodded.

“For some reason, many residents had breakdowns at night. What about you?” the girl asked the guys.

“First Cap and Posty, then there was an accident at the port and after that the builders asked for help with one thing. Which turned out to take much longer than we thought.” Helly answered the question. The senior rescuers looked tired, as did the junior rescuer and the dispatcher.

“No, no offense to anyone, but why couldn’t they have said this earlier, when it was still light?” Poli said his thoughts out loud. With which many agreed.

“I hope we are not too late.” Roy said this, Jin decided to quickly check the time on her watch. There she saw 11 o'clock. They were very late, but she hoped that the children did not leave on their own. Everyone returned and decided to go pick up the children.

"Kim, Conrad. We ba-" The rescuers and the dispatcher did not finish the sentence when they saw that there were no children. They didn’t understand at first and stood there in bewilderment, but after a couple of seconds they began to act.

“Helly, can you find the coordinates of the children?” Amber asked, to which the junior rescuer nodded. He began to carry out the task quickly and he found them.

“I’m sending you the coordinates now.” Helly said this and everyone accepted them.

“Hurry to them!” Poli said this, to which everyone nodded.

“I’m coming with you, wait a minute!” Jin said this and ran for her weapon. She returned quickly and sat on the scooter. All five headed to the coordinates. After some time, the rescuers and the dispatcher reached their destination, the forest. The rescuers transformed and Jean got off the scooter. Everyone activated their weapons and began to run towards the coordinates. Everyone headed out as quickly as they could. On the way they saw a robe hanging. Poli took the robe and, along with the others, saw a message inside the robe:

Those who wear this robe are not human. Be careful."

“It looks like it came from children.” Helly suggested this.

“Perhaps. They must be nearby.” Poli said this and everyone continued along the coordinates. They ran a little more to the coordinates, but they did not see anyone, which surprised everyone.

“It’s strange, the coordinators say that they are here.” Helly said in confusion. Everyone started looking for the children. Jin approached one of the trees and saw something blinking in the grass. She leaned over and saw what was flashing: a small device that looked like a tracker. Jin realized what kind of device it was. She took it in her hands.

“Maybe you were mistaken Helly?” Roy asked the younger one, who just shrugged.

“No, Helly has nothing to do with it.” Jin said this to the surprise of everyone. She approached them all with a serious look.

“Look.” Jin showed the device and everyone understood what it was.

“Conrad’s tracker.” Poli said this, voicing the name of the device.

“The device itself is here, but it looks like there are no children here.” Jin said this, denying that Helly was mistaken.

“So the children lost it?” Helly asked this.

“I really hope for this option.” Poli said this, with which the others agreed.

“This robe still surprises me.” Amber said, the others began to listen to her.

“On the way here, we only found one robe. The one you have, Poli.” Amber pointed out this. Everyone looked at the robe Poli was holding.

“Do you think they took these robes with them?” Helly asked while Amber was answering the question, Roy noticed something strange in the grass. He approached the place and noticed the ashes. After checking the ashes, he realized that what was burning had been extinguished long ago. He had a theory.

“Roy, what’s the matter?” Poli approached his friend, as did the rest of the rescuers and the dispatcher.

"I have a theory about why we didn't find the other robes." Roy said this, to which everyone began to listen. Roy continued, "The theory is that the children found these robes and got rid of them. So they left only one robes so we could see the message." While Roy was explaining his theory, he stood up and pointed at the ashes. Everyone saw what the fire truck was talking about. Everyone decided to stick to this theory.

“Should we then try to find the children from the ashes?” Amber asked the others, they wanted to answer, but heard a strange growl. This stressed everyone out.

“I thought I was the only one who heard it.” Helly said this. They all realized that they had heard right.

“Be on your guard.” Poli said this, to which everyone nodded. They started looking for the one who was growling. Everyone thought that it might be one of the wild animals. But after a while they saw no one and heard no more sounds. Everyone began to think that they had heard wrong, but they didn’t have time to do anything when the following happened: Amber felt a blow and because of this she flew to the side, first she crashed into Poli, then they both flew into Roy, but they didn’t stop. The three of them crashed into a tree with such force that, due to the impact, the tree they crashed into cracked and it began to fall away from the rescuers. Helly and Jin quickly went to the three rescuers to make sure the others were okay. But they both again heard a growl behind them, they turned towards the sound and saw someone like a human in a white robe. It attacked both of them and the rest of the rescuers as well. Jin pointed the gun at the “human” and fired, realizing that this would only hurt the man. But when she shot and hit the “human,” the body crumbled into dust, only the mantle remained. Everyone was surprised and shocked, then on the right side of the forest they heard a growl again and they saw several creatures and they were going to attack the rescuers and the dispatcher.......

The children tried to fight off the creatures and they more or less succeeded. However, one of the creatures attacked Conrad with enormous force and the boy flew towards the cliff. The boy almost fell and would have fallen if he had not managed to grab the edge of the cliff. Kim shot at the creatures and quickly ran towards his friend, dropping his gun as he did so. Conrad tried to get up on his own, but the gun in his right hand wasn't much help. The strength was not enough and the boy began to fall, but after a moment he stopped.

“I’m got you!” the taller boy shouted, holding his friend with both hands, he began to lift Conrad, when the boy with glasses was able to reach to the edge himself, he did so. Both children walked away from the edge of the cliff, limping, and walked over to where Kim had thrown the gun. They both fell to the ground from exhaustion, both of them barely breathing.

“Are you okay?” Kim asked Conrad, worried about his friend.

“Yeah, probably.” the boy with glasses answered the question. They were both trying to regain some strength before the next fight. The children had more and more wounds. But their patrol did not end. It was dangerous to approach the cliff, so they decided to use this time for something else.

“Conrad, while we have time, can we wash the wounds and send a signal for help to the rescuers?" Kim suggested this, to which Conrad nodded. His tracker had a special button that gives an S.O.S. signal if something serious happened to the children. Conrad began looking for the tracker, and Kim tore off some of the fabric from the clothes, which were clean, which was happiness for the child. He also created a water ball. But he began to hear his friend muttering something under his breath and panicking.

“Conrad? What happened?” the boy asked his friend. Conrad didn't say anything at first, but after a minute he turned to the taller boy with a shocked and worried look.

"Kim...I...I lost the tracker...." the boy with glasses said this in a panic, the tall boy's eyes became wide in shock, and his face came in a state of horror.

".......What did you just say?"
