Jim didn't turn around at first. He just held his smile. Joke's on you, he wanted to say, but the joke was really on them both: already it was becoming quickly obvious to the Shadow Guards that this weird section of the wall was actually a door, and a door to something illegal to boot.
"I fold," he said for the last time of the night. His cards fell from his hand to the floor. The idea of digging a tunnel out occurred to him more than once, considering it was made of paper-thin material that poverty would allow, but there wasn't time for that now. The only exit was the secret door.
He opened the slat to peek through and found himself staring one of them right in the eyes. Jim drew his gun casually, but not slowly, and fired a bullet that would decimate any regular humanoid.
The knockback should've been worse, considering the proximity and size of that bullet. Mostly, Jim allowed himself to fall to get out of Dead Dove's way, considering he doubted he would hesitate to shoot a crow.
"One's left! Hurry!" he demanded as he rushed to reload.

She was taken in by the sights, but mostly, she was glad to see Sabitsuki happy. It was hard to imagine the state she was in. Yet 'Rust'... she hadn't even heard of it before.
As they walked deeper into the new world, she asked, "righto, first question, what are the weird-lookin' monsters here? They didn't notice us coming in, right?"
