Hey~ Welcome to my tumblr page featuring anime, manga, possibly books and writing discussions and motivation, etc., along with my thoughts. *I don't take requests.* (P.S. I like people guessing my favorite characters.)
Looking deep into Shu’s character makes you wonder;
Is he really just lazy?
As a child, Shu is actually quite adventurous and curious; he likes to learn how to do things himself instead of having everything handed over to him so easily. For Shu, the life outside this tiny bubble he and his siblings live in, is what matters.
How to Hunt? How to Survive in the woods? How to make a bonfire.
All those are what Shu would define as “worthy” lessons.
Hi can I ask for shu and subaru brotherly headcanons? I really like the headcanons you do! Keep up the great work and always take care of yourself! <3

Shu has a soft spot for the youngest.
He also has the biggest tolerance for him as well. Usually, it’d take no more than five seconds for Shu to tell any of the triplets to shut up if their mouths ran loose. But Subaru? He’d listen in and stare at Subaru for ten seconds to see if the youngest was just being whiny or if something truly troubled him. If it wasn’t anything important, then Shu will dish out his favourite line of the speaking language: "So damn noisy... Quiet down will you?"
Subaru asks Shu for advice in the most indirect ways possible rather than telling it outright. He needed advice on how to ask girls to leave him alone because he didn’t want to catch another suspension or Reiji would give him an earful.
What did Shu do? “Tell them you’re dating someone. If they persist, at least you know who’s a whore. Marks them as an easy target if you’re running low on blood.”
All of the advice Shu gives to Subaru are all things he’s learned through experiences. Instead of dismissing Subaru altogether, he’ll try to make an effort in talking to Subaru because he knows that Subaru takes him seriously, unlike the triplets.
And they’re all good advice too wtf
Subaru’s the one who goes on errands most of the time. He volunteered for it because it gives him another excuse to be left alone from the brothers. In the department stores next to the groccers, his red eyes caught the sale posters outside them.
What does he do when he finishes the errands much faster than intended? He goes through the electronic section and often finds classical music vinyl records on sale. He doesn’t make an effort to remember them but it’s given him inspiration on what to gift Shu when the blonde’s birthday comes around.
When he asked the sales assistant why so many of them were on a flash sale, she told him that it was because classical music wasn’t a large hit for the student demographic. And the students who majored in Music who did buy them later returned the vinyls since the music graduates had no use for them anymore.
Subaru struck a deal that had his wallet begging for mercy.
The man currently has 37 varied CDs and Vinyl records of classical music for the price of 27 Dollars + tax. And that’s when it hit him that Shu didn’t have a record player, he had an MP3 player so buying the Vinyls wasn't a good idea in the first place.
He nearly obliterated the entrance pillars when he got back but settled for demolishing Reiji’s harsh-smelling chemical supply closet
Poor Subaru rip
One time, when Subaru was on his shopping adventures, he came across a cute plant pot. He knows Shu can’t be bothered to take care of plants, let alone flowers that need your undivided attention depending on the species.
But the pots were on a 25% off sale and he’s not particularly close with Reiji who was the other candidate for being able to take care of a plant. Laito was often out of the house, Kanato was WAY too picky and Ayato barely had the attention span to take care of a plant.
So, Subaru took the initiative to buy a Crassula Moonglow - a succulent. He placed it inside of the cute pot he bought and put it outside Shu’s door frame.
Shu teased Subaru for this, saying that it was now his item charm for warding off unwanted visitors. Subaru never told him that he picked out the pot himself when the teasing ensued and his excuse was: "Tch-! Can't you just appreciate the plant?! Why are you focusing on the aesthetics?! Jeez, you're the music nerd, not that conceited First-Blood."
Shu was dying on the inside and tried to stifle a laugh in because his comments were mostly: "...It's not hideous, no. But the pot you picked and you, the person who bought it... There's a divine punchline being played."
Shu makes sure that Christa’s letters to Subaru are always examined and proof-read by him in his spare time. If Christa sent something while she was experiencing a nervous breakdown, it’d affect Subaru horribly.
So whenever Subaru does read these letters, he’s always confused on why Christa would write “Dearest Subaru, it's been a few weeks…” when in actuality, it’s been months. Curse Shu and his lethargism.
Shu knows what it’s like to have tutors who are only in it for the money. God knows how much Beatrix spent on having tutors who could keep up with Shu after the death of Edgar.
So when Karlheinz occasionally assigns tutors in the subjects Subaru is the weakest in and informs Shu since he’s the eldest, Shu’s sharp blue eyes are on the look out for those tutors. There’s only so much trouble Subaru could stir up and it takes two to tango but never one to flourish.
Sure enough, there were tutors who didn’t educate Subaru in the quality he deserved nor did they care enough if Subaru was falling behind; only reporting back to Karl that everything was smooth sailing.
Shu, in his signature style of never saying too much but only giving the bare necessities, wrote a letter (if you can even call it one bc it only contained two sentences max) to Karlheinz to inform that these tutors were lying sons of bitches
Karlheinz took immediate action once he received them (rip to Reiji, if only Karl was just as responsive to him) and fired them. They were never seen again in the world of education and pretty much, the world.
