Sometimes I think it’s not easy to truly explain what yoga really is. Yoga is not just a physical practice. Yoga is a mirror that guides you to the truth self. Yoga is not entertainment, distraction or denial even though yoga can be fun and joyful.

And what’s usually in a handstand? Strength, focus, flexibility, balance, and maybe a little fear, excitement, empowerment and faith. But not really spiritual develop or peace.

Most of the times students #spent time in order to achieve perfection. Too much technique turns asana practice into a check list of pass-or-fail tests. It was a moment when I thought there was a “right” answer for how each asana “should” be.

Now I feel like there are as many different versions of an asana as there are different people practicing. When practitioners are given the space to explore and the guidance to listen to the intelligence of the body, asana turns more inward and subtle.

More than defining what is right and wrong, teaching yoga feels more like creating a safe space of introspection where transformation happens and…this is yoga!

In some way we are limitless and that very truth can be confusing when we are faced with a bunch of obstacles. Then we feel all too limited and something inside of us wants to push through and break out to a new level of reality. But, sometimes it’s ok not to try to achieve. Sometimes it’s ok to accept what is as it is.

We can all be so hard ourselves, pushing to do more, be more, achieve more. But when is enough really good enough? Do we really ask ourselves?

Do we really pay attention at the signs

our body give us ?

Soul has its own way of warning us about the "future" as long as we pay our real attention to the present.

Do we ask ourselves: “Where do I have fun?" "Who respect my boundaries?" "Who really care about me?" "Which relationships do I have that are enjoyable and help me to grow ? “ What do I offer ? “What do I get?" "What I plan to do with what i discover inside m ? And then do I act accordingly ?

Maybe its time to create extra space to breathe and pay attention on our body and soul instead of keep trying or pushing. Maybe once we let go of the need to do more and be more we will find out that we are happy as we are or that we need to act in order to feel happy.
