assuming that natalia alianovna romanova was mcu-canonically born in 1984 and that the KGB is run by Hydra, Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier trained her from adolescence to young adulthood but their pursuit in anything more than teacher and student made Hydra split them up by worsening Bucky’s brainwashing and Natascha’s memories of being trained and going on missions with the Winter Soldier were also wiped. But that one time when the mission(the truck swerving off a cliff) went south for the Black Widow… Bucky had a moment where.. “I knew her..” but due to the brainwashing still finished the mission. And that triggered Natasha. She remembers but lies to S.H.I.E.L.D. why? to protect herself.. and hopefully her former mentor..

why do i have a feeling that natasha definitely remembers who the winter soldier is and is keeping it from steve? like she just gives him the file and says 'seeya'? but i also trust her because if she's keeping it from steve then she's doing so for his protection and also bucky cos bucky might go apeshit if he's triggered right? and of course that part of her past is definitely not part of anything she leaked... too triggering for everybody.. is she like hannibal who drops hints? haha but when steve finds out and bucky remembers shit's gonna hit the fan... all this possible chaos makes me want to write fic

i wish i didn't jump fandoms and sail on ships so quickly.. a jukou fanfic is brewing in my head... so many ideas...
