The Hand of God in DUNE PART ONE & DUNE PART TWO

In DUNE 1 the Hand of God is shown as the protective glove of silence around Arrakis, that makes it difficult to use technology to govern the people and planet. In DUNE 2, the new ruler bypasses the need to use technology by calling upon the faith of the people & they willingly submit to the leadership of the Voice from the Outer World (Lisan Al Gaib) . One aspect of the story of Dune that the movies don't make super clear is that, before Paul, the Fremen already had a central leader figure in Liet Kynes. In the book, Kynes has a generations-long plan to gather enough water to transform the environment of Dune (this is why the Fremen have those big pools, they never get super clear about that), then retake the planet for the Fremen and create paradise. Paul showing up and then leaning into the whole Lisan al-Gaib bit pretty much directly gets Kynes killed, creating a power vacuum into which he assumes himself with the aid of his previously-unheard-of levels of white privilege. While Kynes was an ecologist, however, Paul comes from a family of colonial military aristocrats. All Paul can offer the Fremen is all he understands: revenge. Bloody revenge for everything they've endured in centuries of oppression by the Imperium, temporarily in line with the revenge he craves for the Imperium's attempts to control him and his family, and spiritually in line with the resentment built up all across this socially stagnant feudal space empire.

Some outfits I think book Chani would wear:

Probably something casual in the sietch. She's described as wearing loose clothes with her shoulders bare when she didn't have to worry about the loss of moisture.

These two would be for a gathering or celebration again in the desert. She'd probably use something like this initially too when Paul became emperor.

And transition to more flowy fabric with sparser details after a while depending on the occasion. Something similar to what Jessica wore, letting the fabric do the talking.

This is what I picture her golden robe dress in Dune messiah as, regal and flowy enough to hide her crysknife.

These would be throw around shawls and an overdress tunic sort of thing should she be summoned out of the blue

This would probably be something relaxed she wears with Paul in their chambers

And this would be something for when she holds court with Paul, for important guests or rivals
