*leans into the mic* they are all fruity. If I make them all homosexual or bisexual, who is going to stop me?
But anyways, here's some gays that I want to talk about.
RAN - BISEXUAL/POLYSEXUAL
He can’t put words to it quite yet. But if you questioned him about his sexuality, you’d get a “what’s it to ya?” Everyone seems to want to be in a Haitani’s business, but most of what they ‘know’ stems from rumours. Since he’s bi, it must mean that he’s promiscuous, right? It is a VERY touchy subject for him, since he’s got a reputation as a sleazebag who tosses girls away once he’s had his fun. Rather than warning girls to stay clear of him, it only served to put Ran off of trying to explore romantic relationships. When everyone is already wary of him for something that he’s not, it makes him feel like there would be no point in trying for a connection with people. His bad luck with relationships typically wasn’t his fault, since Ran is actually the type to give his entire being to someone that he’d want to hold on to - which meant that he used to be quite easy to take advantage of. Apparently, his setting of boundaries must have meant that Ran was the heartbreaker in those cases.
And so he’s bitter about relationships. Disconnected. Thinking that there’s no chance for love with him in this lifetime. He doesn’t want that to be the case for his brother, who he also suspects could be queer, but it’s not something they could easily talk about. While Ran feels the responsibility to be open with his own sexuality and explain that he’d be there for Rindou if he was going through something similar, he still hasn’t come to terms with what he feels about his own vulnerabilities. So maybe the talk will happen sometime down the line. Though, hopefully they’re both ready to have those discussions when they do come to that.
YUZUHA - LESBIAN
She doesn’t have a thing for ikemen (cool guys) - no matter how many of them have tried and tried for her affection. But after a third of the guys at school had her name in their mouths, she came to realise that it was ALL guys that she didn’t have a thing for. While Yuzuha was always trying to get her brother to at least make eye-contact with a girl, she found tightness in her throat, jealousy locked behind tight lips when Hakkai tried so desperately to avoid the girls she found cute. Though, it really took her a while to realise that it was more than just girly admiration of other girls, but legitimate crushes. Walking in on her fanclub at school troubled her massively, because she didn’t even realise she was appealing to other girls.
Do they like her like that? Or was this just admiration. Seeing hearts around her name on a chalkboard makes her own heart stumble and flutter with a joy she can’t describe, but it means the world to her to feel noticed. They’ve asked her for kabedon like in anime, but while she tries to joke that it’d be unfair to just do it with one girl, she’s far too choked up in the idea of how close they would be - there’s no way she could make that look cool, is there? Yuzuha is working ever so slowly to gather the courage to ask a girl out, but she knows that there’s no rush when she has her entire life to get to her eventual goal… of kissing another girl. She’s not too picky. Her type is pretty vague, but she really wants to land a cutesy girl that she can look after. For now though, she’s a little too occupied with her mess of a family to find a relationship.
INUI - TRANS MALE
Italicised parts are things from @headless-reaper who opened my eyes with this one. You could interpret him being mistaken for his sister as a metaphor for dysphoria, and it used to wreck his feelings of identity. However, over time he became comfortable with his masculinity, as he could stand beside someone like Taiju and still be terrifying. His heels make him feel secure - to see a role model like Shinichiro and other delinquents his age wear these shoes gave him the confidence to say fuck the constraints of the gender binary. Though he isn’t rocking up anywhere in a skirt, he is willing to explore style and what it means for his gender identity. The idea of medical transition feels like too much effort for him, but it’s not something he feels he needs anymore. Well, if he needs it, he’s joked with Koko about getting him to pay for it; Hajime knows that he’s joking, but if he ever genuinely asked, he’d most definitely lend a hand his way. But for now, it’s alright. When Seishu looks in the mirror, he sees a man looking back at him. It’s been that way for a very long time.
There's no reason for him to go around telling people that he's trans. In fact, very few people even know it, but he reaches out to other trans guys in his sphere for a shoulder of support, even if he doesn't tell them about himself. Seishu isn’t the most obvious when it comes to dealing with these issues, but talking to him, you’d understand just how much genuine support there is behind his words. No matter if they find out or not, he's got a calmness to his speech - an in-the-know reassurance - that makes them feel like they're not alone, not like how he used to feel.
CHIFUYU - (QUESTIONING) BISEXUAL
I don't think anyone is surprised that the guy who announces that he would dedicate his life to a guy he just met would be a little bit fruity. Chifuyu is the daydreamer that reads his shoujo manga and wonders if I could be cool like the protagonist and get a girl like that? Or what if someone cool swept me off of my feet? Yet, the former feels like a stretch away when he doesn't notice subtle flirting, and gets flustered if it's in his face. If you tell him that his hair looks nice, it's returned with a "thanks! Baji told me I should wear my hair like this for the rest of my life", totally not getting the clue that he was being hit on. He’s gotten quite a few anonymous valentines, but this idiot would call out in the class asking who left this stuff on his desk by mistake. For a dude who reads so many romance manga; for a dude who tries to give as much romantic advice as he can, Chifuyu might as well be the most helpless in his entire friendship group when it comes to romance.
Chifuyu's friends have to hear him ramble on about how cool he thinks Takemichi, or Baji, or anyone else is. Yet, when the trashy lad banter of "what are you, in love with him?" hits, he questions himself for a few seconds before refuting it. At least when he's teased about girls, he'll instantly turn them down - he’s not looking for anyone right now! While his rowdy buddies are trying to set him up on dates, he just keeps turning them all down and saying he’ll think about it in the future. Though at this point, it really seems like this future will only start when he reaches his thirties.
SHION - CLOSETED BISEXUAL
The B in LGBT stands for BEANS - as in the guys beanses every single shot of a relationship that even comes his way. There's quite a few people out there who are into self-proclaimed tough guys who are actually really pathetic, but Shion doesn't know how to actually flirt. He's the idiot that says things when gaming like "dude, if I were a girl, I'd let you hit it" or "you were so sexy for that play, come kiss me" - which are actually normal to say when gaming, but he says it so aggressively that people cannot help but think he's the straightest guy to ever exist. So nobody ever believed him when he outright said that he was bisexual - because what do you mean you're attracted to all genders? You're struggling with getting just one to pay attention to you. And now it's not something that he ever brings up, because nobody around him cares unless they're trying to set him up with someone.
Shion doesn't exactly make himself the most appealing of guys, but there's definitely people out there that find a slightly pitiable guy like him cute. He's captured the interest of more dominant figures in the past, but his superiority complex and past stops him from truly surrendering the reins to someone who wants to really take care of him. Shion wants to find a partner to treat right, and to him it means being able to provide, so having him - the man - as not being a sort of 'alpha' in the relationship would shatter his ego. He's got some personal mending and checking that toxic masculinity to attend to first before he knows he can let himself get into a relationship.
So until he gets his shit straight, for Shion, he is also the L in LGBT - The L stands for Loser.

Not sure if yall heard the news but the TR manga will officially be coming to a close in 5 chapters, with 16th November being the last chapter.
Tokyo Revengers has captured my heart and soul like no other manga has, and I would like to sincerely thank Ken Wakui for sharing his world and lovely characters with us all these years.
I'm just going to cry for a bit now, but honestly, I'll still be here trying to carry on. The brainrot is still mighty strong, and so is the fandom ^^ Can't wait for TR season 2 to start, and the second live action movie!!
