Hey I sure have been MIA!! Sewing for the first time since Christmas:) well that's not entirely true. My new day job is sewing! I work for a factory, manufacturing limousines and shuttle busses. I sew the seat covers. Its... a little boring to be honest, haha.
I haven't fun-sewed in a long while. It's nice! This is a queen quilt I've been working on and off on. Maybe once it's completed I'll get back to the Fatal_Error cloth comic.
I've had a busy 2024 so far! I've been sober since new years and I'm being better about my health. So better, in fact, that I'm getting a loop recorder for my heart at the end of the month and an echocardiogram the following week. I've also been loosing weight and calorie counting, since my alcoholism caused me to gain about 50lbs over 6 years. I'm already down 12lbs!
I'm excited to be sewing again, and I'm still very much in the undertale fandom!! I just have dumb grown-up stuff to do a lot of the time!

Merry Gyftmas @alusniper/@wardtale!! I hope you like your gift, I sure had a lot of fun making it! Because I love talking about projects, I'll be telling more details under the cut! <3
So the cloak is based on @alusniper's WardTale Frisk design. I'm a huge fan of casual cosplay and wanted to make something that would represent her AU.
Tumblr media
The original design has the cloak going down to her ankles to actually help shield her from the cold. I could have made the cloak be that long as well, however, Alusniper lives in Brazil! I checked, and the region of Brazil she lives in, even during the coldest months, barely get down to the 40s/50s F during the night.
The original pattern for the cloak states to make a lining for it, to help it look neater and to cover the seam allowances. I think any kind of lining, even with cotton/lightweight fabric would have made this much too hot for her to wear.
The fabric is woven flannel, which I think would be plenty warm for Brazilian winter.
Hands down, my FAVORITE part of this project is the hood. My husband was super sweet enough to me to purchase a used Husqvarna Viking Designers Epic 1 from the sewing machine dealership I used to work at. The machine normally retails for around 13-14k, but we got it for a sweet, sweet 2.5k!!
Tumblr media
The machine can do embroidery, so I found an antler embroidery pattern and embroidered the antlers on the hood. I think it gives it a very unique effect!
The Designer Epic 1 has a unique feature that only Viking (and I think maybe Pfaff) has. Omnidirectional sewing! Typically, the feed dogs on a sewing machine can only go back and forth, but omnidirectional sewing can have the feed dogs can move side to side and diagonal.
Decorative stitches can usually only be as wide as the needle moves back and forth, usually either 7mm or 9mm. With omnidirectional, the needle moves side to side and the feed dogs move side to side. The snowflake decal on the bottom hem is 25mm wide. It was a lot of fun to use such a unique stitching style for the first time!
The bow is made from velvet, which was a new material for me to sew with. It was a lot of fun! The bow is fastened in the back with a snap. I felt it was important to have the bow removable. I like that this could be a cosplay item, or worn casually. I felt the bow might be a bit too flashy for daily wear.
I had such a fun time making this item, I definitely want one of my own now! The flannel is such a soft, sweet fabric and the decals are soooo cute.
The pattern for the cloak is from MadeWithMaridah on etsy.
Antler embroidery pattern is by JLdizains on etsy.
Bow pattern is by cutandsewn on etsy.
Flannel fabric in color kelly yard.
Velvet fabric in color hunter green.

Spinning Wheel - The Three Sisters
My piece for the Object Head Zine 2023 Edition. The theme was Historical Fiction so I decided to paint spinning wheels in different periods. We were allowed to post our whole piece a couple of months ago, but only remembered to post this now because of the KofiChallenge :'^) huhu

Totally forgot to post about this, but here it is!! I loved FTFO soooo much, I decided to get a physical print of it! It's been fun rereading it from an ACTUAL book. The text is a little small, but this was my first time custom printing something, so I'll know better next time.
I used lulu.com for printing, and it ended up around $30 for both books, just due to the length of it. I have plans to get another fic printed, and it'll be much cheaper than FTFO.
The cover art was done by the lovely @scribbletheartist . Thanks for letting me use your art for the book!

Wowie!! Look at this new machine!
Very excited to announce my new baby! This is a Husqvarna Viking Designer Epic 1 sewing and embroidery machine. It sure can do a lot! It has lots of fun decorative stitches, and omni stitches as well! (Omni are just wider than regular decorative stitches)
It has tons of great lighting built into the machine, along with a cut thread button, needle pivot, automatic threader and a fix stitch.
It can also do letters! So now I can finally really get into the swing of things with my current project. Maybe I'll film a machine tour once I have some more free time!
