Calling All Bly Writers! Now Casting: The Masked Author - Season 2

You may have heard of a little competition we did a while back called The Masked Author. 30 wonderful fanfic authors filled prompts and generated 100 incredible fics… and now it could be your turn! Even if you haven’t posted anything yet, you wrote one fic a year and a half ago, or you’re stuck in a writing rut, all writers are welcome to join!

Here’s how it works:

An author agrees to participate, and they’ll be assigned a code name. (I was Olivia Crain, for example.) Authors will be given a list of prompts in advance, and they get writing! Once a week, the fics will be posted anonymously to an AO3 collection (here’s last season’s post-reveal), and the readers get to vote for their favorites and other superlatives while trying to guess who wrote which story. The fic with the least amount of votes has the author’s identity revealed, and we celebrate them for being amazing because we only tolerate love and positivity in this competition. 

Not a writer? No worries! Break out your cork board and put your sleuthing skills to the test as you follow clues to guess which authors are competing and what their code names are. I had the immense joy of participating last season and somehow came in 4th against some incredible competition. (I mean, AO3 legends n0tmyname, obsetress, and andawaywego taking first, second, and third? C’mon.) Everyone was so wonderful and supportive, and I learned so much about my own writing style. 10/10 would recommend.

I EXPLICITLY FORBID ANYONE TO FEED MY FICS TO AI. DUDE, THAT IS ABOUT THE LEAST RESPECTFUL THING YOU CAN DO. IF YOU DO IT, SHALL YOU BE EXCOMMUNICATED FROM YOUR FANDOM AND WALK ON LEGOS BAREFOOT TILL THE END OF DAYS.

That is my anti-permission.

maybe it’s cuz i’m getting older but i’m thoroughly unamused by how every media consumption is being reduced solely to ships and the desire to have people date each other. what’s wrong with friendships. what’s wrong with found family. what’s wrong with roommates. what’s wrong with mentor relationships. why is the end goal of everything to have two+ people be shipped together.

Hi! Been having a rough year and time sort of got away from me, I only recently realized it's been almost a year? 😯 All that to say that, yes, I'm still writing it, I've just been struggling with some things. It's finally here!

I was commissioned by the Assassin's Creed team to make a special wallpaper to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Assassin's Creed franchise I want to thank them for giving me this wonderful opportunity and allow me to be part of this project!

When I started this project, I wanted to pay tribute to this mighty character but I wasn't thinking about Kassandra "The Misthios". I only focused on the Kassandra "The Keeper", that powerful figure who endured and sacrificed so much but worked hard in the shadows to keep humanity safe from the Isu artifacts.

We are so used to hear that she is a simple misthios who just fights for a living but the Valhalla crossover showed us she's more than that. She may not be an assassin but she is part of this franchise and that's a fact we can't ignore and we should start appreciating more ❤️
