“I think you still love me, but we can’t escape the fact that I’m not enough for you. I knew this was going to happen. So I’m not blaming you for falling in love with another woman. I’m not angry, either. I should be, but I’m not. I just feel pain. A lot of pain. I thought I could imagine how much this would hurt, but I was wrong.”

Hey! Thank you for doing the writers cpr prompts with me 😊 - mine is: waltzing on a volcano
Waltzing on a volcano
The night was red velvet
Wind swayed sweet
Warmth concealed
Spring and winter,
And, the waltz of the turning time
He melts for her,
She freezes in frame
A crisp promenade
Mirroring the wind,
They swayed to her tune
Whisky colonge tangles with
Flora perfume
Velvet was the night
Crimson was the aura
A ludicrous affair,
Winter meanders through spring
Traces of him, found in the
Nocturnal bliss
The world is at war
The seasons waltz
Vendetta of being and
Being null...................
*I hoped to post it earlier, but it wasn't meant to be.*

The skies were painted blue
Full of hope when I found you
Memories that I can reminisce
A love that was good to be true
The doors were painted red
When you opened my heart again
A fleeting moment of love and happiness
Never to be found again
The windows were painted yellow
A ray of light passing through
Clinging into hope that's true
I wished I never have met you
The house was painted white
Pure or bad intentions I didn't mind
Made me feel belonged and loved
With my head resting on your chest
The skies are now painted gray
I want you to stay
I hope you felt it too
The longing that I had for you

Tainted blue
on the underside,
clear ripples overlap;
hairline tides -
stay untouched
The whole place is abandoned
Except for sets of footprints on the sand
Owned by two figures,
silhouetted by the light
It must be nice to have someone
to walk the shores with
How peaceful, calm and perfect it must be

“I think one of the saddest things is when two people really get to know each other: their secrets, their fears, their favourite things, what they love, what they hate, literally everything, and then they go back to being strangers. It’s like you have to walk past them and pretend like you never knew them, never even talked to them before, when really, you know everything about them.”

This wonderful season
the one that birthed me
the one that I long for
year after year
because it holds the magic
of the world.
It is a time to let go
to surrender to the cycles
and begin anew.
I love the exquisite stillness
the way that life slows down
and takes its rest.
When the clocks roll back
and the darkness settles in,
I feel at peace
knowing my favorite time
has finally arrived.
I love the longer nights
filled with cold air and mystery.
I linger in the evenings
a hot cup of cocoa in hand
gentle music playing.
I am cozy and content
filled with joy and wonder.
This is when I come alive.

winter serenades.
my secrets I keep hushed,
hidden inside,
scratching the interior
of my ribs
these days I want more
tiptoeing to your ensemble
of all the seas
of lost words
I want to know your soul,
to be able to taste off your fingertips
I bite, my teeth,
you’ll desire
but I sleep these sleepless nights
consuming thoughts and breathe
and touch the lover of
these dreams
only

Quote with explanation (#8)
“Words were different when they lived inside of you.” -page 31, “Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe”
Ari’s words, in his head, speak of teen angst and the inability to reach out to others. When he tries to put his words into words, and his thoughts into conversation, they just don’t present themselves right.
Words were different when they lived inside of you, and have been eating away at you, like in Ari’s case. Their definitions aren’t the ones you read in a dictionary, and their meaning is different when spoken. Ari’s words never come across properly-until the end of the book.
