DO NOT EVER LET SOMEONE DICTATE WHAT YOU SHOULD SCRIPT. ITS YOUR DESIRED REALITY NOT THEIRS.
*Shakes you lovingly*
Whatever you want to script is only your business, never let someone discourage you, especially some stranger on the internet that had nothing to do with your life.
Peoples opinions of you and your DR will never matter. Does it make you happy? Yeah? Then it's settled.

*cracks knuckles*
Whelp, you asked for this. RIP you.
Sorry I'm late to the party. I've been scripting backstories all April long and just ran across this post. My (currently active) DR is a TVD alternative universe that diverges in Season 2. Instead of The Five, my DR explores a new breed of vampire hunter that was created by the Augustine Society. My DR-self is one of those experimental hunters. My s/o is Elijah Mikaelson. That being said, let's get into the juice~
The song:
*I use music a lot to shift to my TVD DR. I've been imagining this song being sung by my DR-self during Esther Mikaelson's ballroom party where she links her children together. My DR-self intends to subvert Esther's plans because I'm actively fighting against her and my hunter instincts in my DR to save Elijah. I am using the song as a distraction to Esther, revealing a bit about my true nature to throw her off. The hunters that William Webb and The Augustine Society created used a ritual to bind an archangel into human form. Thus, I have cool music-based magic.
"There's a second wind coming as we lie here in our bed. It rattles the bones of our fathers, carries whispers from the dead..."
My DR-self is literally the "second wind" that is blowing into Mystic Falls. The first wind is my father, William Webb, who catalyzed the hunter experiments. Mystic Falls is laying in their beds, sleeping on the revolution about to take place. But the tremors of change are beginning to quake as I return to the town of my father after a long period where I avoided Mystic Falls. The bones of the town's secrets (and lies) are rattling in the skeleton closet. I am waking the dead with my return, causing the ghost ancestors of the Founding families to talk amongst themselves...
And you, you, you light a candle. And I make sure the bairns are fed.
But both the town and I are continuing to act as if nothing is happening. Denying the dead their truth. If we keep up appearances, if we continue our routine, maybe the whispering dead will go back to sleep? The "you" in this is addressed to Elijah. I am casually stating that both of us are lying to ourselves.
You turn the telly on to drown out your fear. You make the bed up silent on the floor, so no one will hear us. You try so loud to love me. I cannot seem to hear.
I acknowledge that the connection Elijah & I share is shaking him to his vampiric core. He is trying to keep it hidden from his family as he navigates the exact nature of his feelings. But in the moments we are together, I know that his passions are becoming so intense. I admit that I've been ignoring/avoiding them purposefully because if I acknowledge it, it might destroy us both. We are from different sides of the playing field. He is an Original & I am a hunter who was created to kill him.
'Cause you, you touch. My skin peels off like paint. But beneath all of our panting, there's this noise I cannot shake. Well, can't you hear that scratching? There's something at the door...
But every time Elijah Mikaelson is within my presence, every time we are together...more chunks of the stone wall that has been built between us crumbles. We are panting under the exertion & the strain of trying SO HARD to uphold our opposing positions upon the Mystic Falls chess board. Regardless, I tell Elijah in this moment that I sense something is amiss. That something much bigger than both of us (and our families) is coming...
But the wind has picked us up now, we're hanging in the air.
It doesn't matter what we do. Both Elijah and I are being moved in a direction that we can't fight. That "second wind" stirring up Mystic Falls has turned into a hurricane and we're at the storm's epicenter. This statement is also a reference to the lightning storm that raged on the night that Elijah Mikaelson compelled the first William Webb in New Orleans. Little did Elijah know that his own wording would lead Will to create the hunter experiments... I am stating that the consequences, this wind that is stirring, has us both held in its grip. It is the true architect of the fated events that surround us.
And as you grip me like an animal that you're about to spear... "Be good to me," I whisper. And you say: 'What?' And I say: 'Nothing, dear...'
Almost as a reflex, Elijah and I are reverting back to our opposite positions. I am a hunter and he is an Original. We are both enemies. I am sworn to kill him while he must kill me to protect his family. But in the moments that he could've killed me, I haven't resisted it at all. I've welcomed his touch. I've told him to make my death precious to him. This small admittance is one of the only times we have ever truly dropped our guards around each other. But the moment Elijah questions it, I push the truth of my true feelings away. On Elijah's end, he knows that truly pursuing the truth would put us in a position where we'd have to compromise (or break) our promises to our families.
Can't you hear it? It can hear you. It wants me too. (Throw the plate at the wall)
Again, I am publicly and directly addressing that there's something bigger than ourselves and our family at play here. I'm begging him to listen, to consider that we're both pawns in a game not of our design. That we are in this together. And that we should shatter the fate that has us as odds. We should break the stereotypical roles (vampire and vampire hunter) that has us acting against each other so viciously. I am telling Esther and William to go fuck themselves disrespectfully.
I'm the paper cut that kills you and the priest that you ignored. I'm the touch you crave, I'm the plans that you made. But fuck all your plans, I'm bored!
My tone shifts suddenly. The monster inside of me that William Webb created is talking. I am now addressing the larger audience (the town of Mystic Falls) itself and calling it out on it's bullshit. I'm ripping away the veil that they're using to hide their own motives and schemes. To Elena Gilbert, I'm the paper cut. To Alaric, I'm the priest who warned him. I'm the touch Stefan & Kol craves. I'm the plans the Augstine Society made. But amongst it all, I am TIRED of the masks we collectively wear. I'm going to rip all of them off one at a time.
"And can't you hear that scratching?" I ask your eyes.
Again, I'm pleading with Mystic Falls to stop fighting with each other & listen to the storm that is coming for us. I'm questioning if they can even hear it at all...
I've got knuckle burn from typing all these lines into your chest! And as the belt from your buckle is tightening, I make shipwrecks out of my dress. And the door below, it splinters, and the creature creeps inside...
I'm descending into a frenzy as I tell Mystic Falls the truth of my feelings. That the role I am being placed in burns. That as they keep squeezing me into this hunter role, I'm trying so hard to fight against my own instinct. I'm crashing ships on the rocky shores of their combined indifference but I'm attempting to dress it up. To make everything look okay. If I don't, I'm afraid I'll lose control to the hunter that the Augstine Society made me. Sadly, it (the hunter, the creature inside me) does not care. It is breaking through the locked doors I've tried to seal it behind.
And we fall into each other, the scratching grows so loud. Because that unwanted animal wants nothing more than to get out. And I scream, "What's the time, Mr. Wolf?" But you, you're blind, you bleat, you bear your claws.
The hunter instincts that are inside of me are winning. I am giving into it. It has motivated me to throw myself into dangerous situation after dangerous situation with Elijah, with the Originals, with the Salvatore brothers, & the Founder's Council. Both Elijah and I are at war. It's just easier to stop making peace, right? This is what Mystic Falls wants. What our families expect. I am so tired of fighting that part of me that wants to rip into Elijah. I even ask Klaus, "What's the time, Mr. Wolf?" to see if this game of charade we're playing is finally over. But all Klaus can do is bear his fangs at me...
Oh, and you rip my ribcage open and devour what's truly yours. And our screaming joins in unison, I cry out to the Lord.
For Elijah's part, he's acting on his vampiric and possessive instinct as well. We descend into a frenzy where he finally tears open my defensive shell to discover the feelings that I have for him inside of my heart. We are both screaming. Passion. Love. Hate. Obsession & vulnerability all shared between us in unison. It's too much. I cry out (as a half human, half angel hybrid) to the Lord for mercy. To spare us both...
'Cause if we join our hands in prayer enough to God, I imagine, it all starts to sound like applause...
But my prayer isn't heard because God itself has ordained this. And in my doubt, I admit that all of this must be entertainment to the divine hand that made both Elijah and I. I am losing my faith. I am an angel that has fallen from grace because of Elijah Mikaelson and his family. This love we share is a sin. And all the prayers & the clasping together of hands are being interpreted as clapping...
Can't you hear it? It can hear you. It wants me too.
Again, I ask Mystic Falls (and Elijah) if they can hear the sound of apocalypse coming...? I tell them that "the storm" can hear them. That they're wasting their energy on drama and in-fighting between each other when all of us need to band together to survive what is consuming Mystic Falls. And that I'm no different. I also need to put aside my drama for the greater good. I'm guilty too.
And these plates, they smash like waves (place your hand in mine). And on the wind, it howls (how long can this last?). 'Cause that second wind is coming, love, it's coming for all we own. And on the creature scratches, it doesn't know how to get out (let me out!)
Inevitably though, all the roles we uphold in Mystic Falls (the plates) are going to smash upon the waves of this coming apocalypse. The wind is howling, foretelling it's coming. I ask Elijah Mikaelson to trust me, to place his hand in mine. I ask him how long we can last stuck in denial?? Both of the "storm" and our feelings for each other?? I say that it doesn't matter what we're holding out for. Soon that will be ripped from us by the wheels of that fate that begun turning the minute I entered Mystic Falls. The hunter instinct inside me is clawing to be free. It's only a matter of time. I beg Elijah to let me go.
And you, you follow philosophies. But me, I laugh, I choke. "Well, hello, my hollow Holofernes". I wink, but you don't get the joke.
Elijah is a noble man of honor. He follows a higher moral standard than I do. He stands for something. Unfortunately, he's decided that he wants (no, that he needs) to save me from the Augustine Society. He believes in my redemption as much as he believes in his brother's as he sees both of us as being the victims of our families...and the part he had to play in our victimization. I'm desperately trying to write Elijah's plan to save me off as a joke. I call it hollow. "Holofernes" refers to the Book of Judith where the proud Assyrian General (named Holofernes) is seduced by Judith during a dinner that he invited her to. He had originally planned on killing her but was so enchanted by her mind that he drank too much and allowed her to live. She ended up killing him instead. I am comparing Elijah and I to Judith & Holofernes. When we first met, Elijah invited me over for dinner at the Mystic Grill. I'm laughing at my own joke but Elijah Mikaelson isn't laughing. But laughing is all I can do when facing the inevitable...
"Hold the hand of the god-child," they said, "as he falls from the sky." "Be good to me," I beg of him. "Be good to me," I beg of him. Be good, be good, be good, be good, be good, be good, be good
Here I am begging the wheels of destiny that work against Elijah and I to spare us. To look us over. I am clasping my hands together & clapping for God in the hopes that he's kept entertained enough to keep both Elijah and I alive. I'm praying for the Powers That Be to "be good" to me. I, an angel, am praying for the salvation of a demon (Elijah Mikaelson) knowing that my prayers are unholy. That I am sinning against my duty as a hunter and the daughter of William Webb. And the more I beg for fate to "be good", the more I realize that the merciless, cruel God that made me probably thinks I'm clapping for all that has transpired. And all that will...
And he replies (oh), "No, no, not I"
The answer is no. The divine will not spare Elijah or the Originals or even Mystic Falls. So, the response must be rebellion. And I will gladly rip off my wings to join the side of the vampires and supernaturals against the righteousness of a God who will not show love or mercy.
Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven.
I want you to find a song that relates to your dr and break it down.
Ever. Fucking. Lyric.
I wanna see explanations on everything that correlates to your dr.
This should be you 🫵🏾

I don’t know who needs to hear this but you found shifting for a reason, honey. You wouldn’t have found it if you weren’t meant to or if you couldn’t do it. You CAN do it. Look at how many things had to fall into place for you to find it. There’s a reason.

There's so many shifters out there that I wish I could compliment and hype up but I am, how you say, paralyzed with the eeby deeby and unable to cope?
But please know that I'm rooting for you all, Shiftblr. You're the source of about 90% of my hope lately.

⚜️ William Webb (The First) ⚜️
While there are many iterations of Wiliam in the multiverse where this didn't happen, the DR that I am most linked to has chosen this as a canon event. Please be advised that my William Webb scripted timeline here is TLDR and for your sanity, I'd just carry on scrolling through Tumblr. But if you're still curious?? Then continue reading...
But seriously, maybe don't do that.
TW: Death, violence, murder, & dark themes. Will the First is also a wet, sad little sack just like all the other Wills in the Webb family. His story is PURPOSEFULLY SCRIPTED like this. His trauma is a motivating force to his actions in my DR and it is something I am personally willing to explore. This is a TVD person, after all.
Tumblr media
"I'd rather spend my time with books. They speak more truth than people ever will...and this book? This book speaks volumes."
-William Webb the 1st.
⚜️ The Webbs were prominent members of the English aristocracy since the Tudor Era. They were given an Earldom by King Henry (Fortshire) and boasted Catherine Parr as a relative. This is likely where the love of books and education comes from. Nathaniel Webb is the first to dip his toe into the textile and fashion trade. While the Webbs were rich & didn't have a need to muddle their hands in the merchant class, Nathaniel believed that a man was bound by a duty to build his own legacy. He wasn't happy just being an Earl of Fortshire.
⚜️ Nathaniel Webb establishes his first shop in England (1544), catering to English nobels and even those within the Royal Family. The outfits created were often marked by refined materials and sober design; instead of being gaudy, Nathaniel believed that focusing on the quality of the materials (over flashiness) would win over his clients. He was right. The atmosphere of England during this time was predominantly a struggle between Catholic and Protestant philosophies; so, Nathaniel's more subdued outfits became popular with clients who wanted to preserve their vow to God & rebuke the trappings of the material world while still remaining tasteful. A direct opposition from the French fashions of the time that loved to flaunt their opulence...
⚜️ The Webbs fall out of prominence in the English court when Catherine Parr transfers her position as Queen to the next in line. At least the Webbs had their thriving business! The popularity of the Webb shops make up for their decline in court, however. Not much changes for them in terms of finances. They enjoy more success in the fashion business than they ever did in court. Second only to Liberty London; their only real competition within the textile trade in England...
⚜️ Around 300 years pass. The business the Webbs started in the 1500's understandably goes through various ups and downs. When the 1800's roll around, the ruling patriarch of the Webb family is Joseph Webb. He has 2 sons & one daughter who dies very early on into her childhood. This devastates Joseph. He never emotionally recovers. The sons are mostly raised by their mother and neglected by their icy father. Joseph plunges himself into work, trying to reclaim the "glory days" of the family business in order to cope with his grief. He sees a burgeoning opportunity in the Americas to reestablish & expand his trade in new lands where the Webb family could flourish without their old competition.
⚜️ In 1855, the Webbs board a ship going to the Americas after saying their goodbyes to London. Unfortunately, Joseph dies during the journey to the New World. He is survived by his two sons and his wife. The business is transferred to the oldest son, Harding Webb. The Webbs set up shop in New Orleans. The competition, however, is unexpectedly fierce as New Orleans is predominantly opulent of attitude & favors French fashions. The more austere outfits that the Webbs specialize in aren't as popular here. The family struggles to thrive in the Big Easy...
Side Note: In TVD canon, the Originals were present in New Orleans in the 1820s. But in my DR, the Original's presence in NOLA has been extended to 1855.
⚜️ While Harding Webb was the extroverted one, his little brother William was the quiet & introverted one. He had no mind for money, business, or building a reputation in this new land his family had moved themselves to. He was far more interested in books, education, & documenting what he saw. However, with the Webbs struggling, William was forced to put his books aside to work as a tailor in the shop while Harding ingratiated himself into society upon the premise that you're only as rich as the people you know. William doesn't acclimate well to being a tailor and longs for London. For the solitude of his library. For a more civilized conversation amongst learned men. As if answering William's prayer, Elijah Mikaelson strolls into the store on a slow & muggy afternoon...
⚜️ Not easily impressed by the opulent and gaudy fashions of NOLA's clothing shoppes, Elijah gives the Webb's store an opportunity to design his clothes. Elijah prefers the "less is more" approach that the Webbs specialize in and commissions them to design several suits, ties, and other apparel for him. William spends time taking Elijah's measurements & going over different materials with the man. During this process, Elijah and William bond over a mutual love of books and reading the classics. They become quick friends. Elijah often visits the shop after his initial purchase to commission more clothes...but soon turns into an excuse to talk to someone "civilized" like him. They begin exchanging books with each other.
⚜️ Meanwhile, Harding Webb has fallen into the partying and gambling crowd, inevitably coming into contact with Klaus Mikaelson & the socialites of New Orleans. Harding Webb thinks he can amass reputation, wealth, and status by "playing the game." He is spending large sums putting on fake appearances and gambling than he is investing into the Webb clothing store. Klaus sees Harding as a little man with little dreams and doesn't really like him. Klaus begins conspiring to kill Harding in a way that he feels suits the power-hungry attention seeker. He caught Harding flirting with HIS Rebekah, after all...
⚜️ Meanwhile, Elijah has been putting some major distance in-between himself & Klaus. He's been spending more time with William; discussing reading materials, philosophies, world-views, politics, culture, and everything else. One day, Elijah shows up to the Webb shoppe with a new book. An old book. Elijah asks William if he could translate it since the book isn't written in any (known) language. It seems like a bunch of gibberish to him. Even though he's certain the book contains some mystery. William says he loves a challenge & agrees to take a crack at deciphering it. Will doesn't really understand what he's actually agreeing to or how this decision will change the course of his (and his descendants) lives forever.
⚜️ A storm descends upon New Orleans. It blankets the colony-city in harsh rain, wind, hail, and lightning. For a week, New Orleans is locked down while the weather batters & beats it. During this time, nobody is visiting the shop much. William finally has time to spend on decoding the mystery of the book that Elijah gave him. Harding, strangely, has not come home...although, that isn't too odd for Harding who was prone to partying and debauchery. The only one who really notices that he's gone is Mrs. Webb (Samantha). Will holes himself up in his library during the rain storm, studying the book. The symbols and language inside of it are like nothing he has ever seen before. Just looking at it's pages scrambles his brain. And maybe it's just the ambiance of the storm, but Will swears that something is watching him from the corners of the library. A shadow of a man...
⚜️ William works long hours into the night in the library. He'd fall asleep on his desk while attempting to translate the book. Maybe the obsession to figure out the language fueled the weird nightmares he began to have? Will would dream of a priest. Of blood, death, & pages upon pages of ink. He'd wake, feeling on the edge of madness. Meanwhile, the rain and the storm outside raged...
⚜️ On the sixth day of the storm, in the dead of night, William is visited by Elijah. The man looks somehow different than his usual face. A deeper darkness that William hadn't seen before was present there. A small, ruby stain was there on his starched and pristine collar. Elijah asks Will if he's translated the book yet and Will shakes his head. Says no, tells Elijah that he's not even sure if it can be translated. Or if the language is legitimate. Elijah seems disappointed in Will's answer but accepts it nonetheless. He tells Will with a heavy heart to keep the book as a gift from him. Then, he stares William directly in the eyes & tells Will that he needs to leave New Orleans with his mother. That his brother is dead, he took his own life. And that the Webb family shouldn't come back. Elijah instructs Will to focus on settling down in an area that was out of the way from the popular colonies, somewhere not in Louisiana. And to forget about Elijah, his family, & their friendship entirely.
⚜️ On the 7th day of the storm, William and his mother pack their essentials. On the 8th day, the storm breaks, and the Webbs leave their house in New Orleans. They moved to Virginia to a small settlement called Mystic Falls. Among their things is the book...
⚜️ The Webbs are successful in Mystic Falls as tailors & running their fashions and textile shop. They began enjoying the refinements of their earlier Tudor-era wealth again. They began the construction of an estate with the shop a few blocks down from it. They switch signature austerity to include more frivolous designs with Samantha now contributing to the business as a tailor herself. Samantha's clients included: Katherine Pierce and Pearl at one point. Will's clients included the Fells, Gilberts, Salvatores, & the Lockwoods.
⚜️ William continues to suffer from strange, vivid nightmares after leaving New Orleans. The priest torments him into the early hours of the morning, calling upon Will to read the book and decode its secrets. Will grows a bit weirder than normal as the years stretch on. The influence of the book seemingly a stain now on his soul. One person he does admit this experience to is Jonathan Gilbert who is both intrigued and wary of William's claim at the same time...
⚜️ Will Webb doesn't participate in the 1864 "round up" event of Mystic Falls. As such, he isn't killed by Stefan or Damon Salvatore at the dinner party event. William does end up helping Jonathan with his experiments after the Salvatore brothers killed the Gilberts and friends. While Jonathan was obsessed with the Originals, Will is obsessed with the book. Will feels, at this point, that the priest inside his nightmares is actually an angel who has been sent to guide him to a permanent and eternal solution to the vampire menace. He just has to translate the complex linguistic code. Jonathan Gilbert disagrees, saying the most direct route to killing the vampires is to kill the Originals with the White Oak stake. It drives a significant wedge between the two. Jonathan feels that William's research won't gain the results they need and that the book is useless...
⚜️ The next event seals the "cursed" urban legend of the Webbs in Mystic Falls forever. William had been slowly decoding the book with the help of the priest in his nightmares. He finds that the book actually documents a ritual that, when enacted, could transform a regular human into a "super slayer" with the help of an archangel. At this same time, Will was dealing with the slow death of his mom who was sick. He saw an opportunity in that moment to prevent Samantha Webb from a terrible death and test out the ritual. On the day of a solar eclipse, William tries to make his mother into the first super slayer. He fails spectacularly. William is blamed for murder & insanity by the town of Mystic Falls. While both the Augustine Society & the Founder's Council know the truth of what William was working on, they unanimously bury the truth of William's work. William Webb goes down in history as a boogeyman in Mystic Falls. A scary urban legend similar to the Sanderson Sisters or the Headless Horseman.
Side Note: In my DR, Sleepy Hollow, Hocus Pocus, & Supernatural universes are linked.
⚜️ William Webb is survived by his wife and daughter who inherit the fashions and textile shop along with a considerable fortune. The taboo of William's insanity remains a smear on the family, however. Any Webb who lives in Mystic Falls is haunted by the whispers of speculation the town has on William Webb & what drove him to madness. Meanwhile, the book is passed down from each generation; an heirloom piece now. Its true nature is lost with William Webb's death. However! There's some information written within the Gilbert journals about William's book & what he was working on. Both the Augustine Society and the Founder's Council thinks the experiment that Will botched as an unfortunate result of the war against vampires.

Tumblr media
"What I'm doing for the world-No, what I've always done-has been for the greater good! If you had the chance to end the war against evil, you'd do the same..."
-William Webb
⚜️ Born in February 1964 to Samantha and Garrett Webb. He was an only child. Garrett would soon abandon both Samantha & Will after his 10th birthday, starting a brand new family with another woman. Samantha had some health complications post-pregnancy and was prone to fits of mania or depression that left William in the role of the "caretaker" for most of his formative years. He'd soon take an interest in medicine, psychology, & academia as a result. Will wanted to do his best to take care of his Mother despite how his father treated her.
⚜️ William spent most of his childhood and young teens in New York, struggling with his mother, managing her health, and working a part-time job after school to pay for the cost of living. At the age of 17, the Webbs caught a lucky break when Elias Webb, Samantha's uncle, died. Since he was childless and had no other heirs, Samantha (and William) were given control over the Webb estates & their considerable fortune. William and Samantha moved from NY to Mystic Falls in 1976.
⚜️ Life improved considerably for William & his mother in their new environment. Armed with the Webb fortune at their disposal, Will was able to pay for the meds/specialists his mother needed. And, for the most part, was able to start living a normal life. Will's grades improved greatly & even Samantha's health seemed to turn around for the better. To the point where she didn't need the supervision she once did. It was a true miracle. At least, for now...
⚜️ It wasn't all coming up roses for William, however. Being the only (living) male heir to the Webb Estates came with responsibilities that he wasn't really prepared for & also the gawking attention of the residents of Mystic Falls. The Webbs were shrouded in an urban legend that painted them in a negative light much like the Gilberts were painted as drunk crazy people. Even though both families sat and held positions on the Founder's Council. Will did his best to adapt to the changes and Samantha encouraged him to be gentle with himself. During this time, William made two new friends at Mystic Falls High; Grace and Mercy Tanner. And while William Webb tried to befriend the girl's younger brother, they'd always maintain an awkward (if not outright antagonistic) relationship until after tragedy struck after graduation.
Side Note: Mercy and Grace Tanner are the (older) twin sisters of William Tanner, Elena's history teacher, during the events of S1 TVD. Another detail to note is that while Will held a defacto seat on the Founder's Council by virtue of being a Webb, he was not informed of the supernatural goings-on due to his age at the time. By the time it became a relevant factor, it was too late.
⚜️ Darkness befell the Webb family shortly after William's graduation from MFHS in the form of Samantha's newest suitor; Dominic. Claiming that he was there to visit his family, Dominic infiltrated Samantha's life and quickly became another "Garrett" to William. There was something... wrong about Dominic. William only had vague suspicions but his mother was so happy in this new relationship that he refrained from any direct criticism or confrontation towards Dominic whenever he was invited over. After all, his mother was an adult. Will wasn't about to shit on his mother's new happiness. William, also, was distracted by his own happiness with Mercy Tanner whom he had just started to date.
⚜️ Around this time, William started having strange, vivid, terrifying nightmares about a priest. About blood, death, and pages upon pages filled with ink. Mercy suggested that he see a doctor about these nightmares he was having in case it was a symptom/s of a deeper problem (like his mother) but all that was prescribed was over-the-counter sleep medication. And a recommendation to see a clinical therapist which William refused. He'd seen the good it'd done for his mother & Will wasn't keen to repeat the gruesome process. Mental health practices were barbaric in the 70's. William just chalked it up to stress.
TW: Please be advised that this part of Will's story is traumatic & continues downhill from here. Do not read further if you struggle with themes of death, violence, or suicide.
⚜️ Speaking of stress, William was filling out paperwork to apply for classes at Whitmore College. He'd been at the library, working on the packet of papers he'd been given to sign and initial. As such, Will missed (several) phone calls from his mother that, sadly, he'd regret for the rest of his life. William was the first to arrive at "the scene of a tragic accident." At least, that's what the coroner's office said of the ordeal. William had been the first to arrive at the bloody scene of "the accident" (the house they'd inherited) and what he'd witnessed did not add up to a suicide. His mother hadn't struggled with her anxiety or psychotic depression since they'd gotten her the specialists she needed. Still, Mystic Falls PD & the coroner's office insisted that it was. Her head had been twisted at such an angle, in such a way, that only an act of incredible violence could ever achieve. Still, the death certificate said, "Suicide." The town was more than willing to blame his mother's poor mental health than pursue the truth. After all, Founder's Week was rolling around the corner. The last thing the Mayor wanted was an open murder case distracting (and scaring) the town's people. But William knew it was Dominic. In his gut, he knew...
⚜️ As a child, William couldn't do anything to save his mother from Garrett. Now, as a technical adult (18), he'd been too late to do anything. The only control Will had in this situation was to find the true culprit: Dominic. The mangled body of his mother haunted Will at night. Now, she was joined with the priest who urged him forward. In the weeks that followed, Will became another person who was obsessed, paranoid, and lashing out at the people who were around him. He forgot about college & his academic future. His relationship with Mercy deteriorated. He began looking like his ancestor (William the 1st), who'd also lost his mind in a similar way. Making valid the whispers and gossip about the "cursed" Webb family, bringing history to come around full circle again.
Side Note: The Founder's Council decided to bury the truth and keep William Webb in the dark about the existence of vampires. They still deemed him too young & too immature, a liability at worst to their system of control based on his wildly emotional reaction to his mother's death. The Council considered this attack to be an isolated event, after all. And there was no solid proof (a vampire bite) that Samantha had been killed by a vampire in the first place.
⚜️ In pursuit of the truth & unwilling to risk his girlfriend's safety while doing so, William broke up with Mercy. Whatever person he'd have to become or dangers he'd face, he did not want to involve her. Dominic had skipped town (conveniently) after giving a few words to the authorities about his whereabouts at the time of "the incident." William followed, putting the town of Mystic Falls behind him and leaving the Webb estates empty for now to stand as a testament. Or a dark reminder of the crime Mystic Falls refused to address.

*CONCEPT BEING RE-WORKED.
----------
⚜️ The experiment is to create a new kind of supernatural. A hybrid that hasn't walked the Earth for over millions of years. Just as fast, as strong, and as hard-to-kill as an Original. Armed with holy fire ripped from the power of an archangel itself. The Augustine Society and Possessed!William are spearheading the experiment with information Will has gained from studying the old grimoire that has been handed down to every generation within the Webbs. For reasons that remain mysterious to The Augustine Society, William is the only person who can read the book. However, the results speak for themselves. In 1992, Will is successful in creating seven of these hybrid beings. Will and The Augustine Society calls these successes: "The Miraculous 7." With so many failed attempts, these seven are a true miracle to Possessed!William & The Society. Both put their hopes on these children to be the final coffin nail in the war against vamps forever.
⚜️ William legally adopts the 7 children and houses them in the Webb estate. Meanwhile, The Augustine Society takes over control of the orphanage where additional experiments continue. Possibly headed by John Gilbert & Grayson Gilbert. But Will's attention is on the Miraculous Seven now.
⚜️ He teaches the children survival, hunting, and martial arts along with various forms of weapons training (focusing mostly on wood stakes and pistols loaded with wood bullets). The training is grueling & intense, often not considering the limits of a child. Possessed! Will sees them more like tools that exist only to enact his centuries-long revenge against vampires. There are a few moments, though, where William softens. Mostly for the eldest girl of the Miraculous 7 who reminds him of Grace. Will chooses to homeschool the kids, giving him greater control over them. During this time (with the addition of normal hunter powers) William notices the kids developing psychic talents akin to the archangel entity that was used in the ritual. Each kid has one psychic ability that's exclusively their own & specific to them.
Side Note: The archangel's "true name" was used in the Webb family grimoire's ritual to bind it to reality.
⚜️ The Miraculous 7 are as follows:
▪︎ Adam Webb (known as "First" in the Augustine Society reports)
▪︎ Elizabeth Webb (known as "The Pale Lady" in the Augustine Society reports)
▪︎ Jake Webb (known as "The Jackal" in the Augustine Society reports)
▪︎ Sebastian Webb (known as "The Tinkerer" in the Augustine Society reports)
▪︎ Ethan Webb (known as "The Believer" in the Augustine Society reports)
▪︎ Andrew Webb (known as "The Fool" in the Augustine Society reports)
▪︎ Zoey Webb (known as "Last" in the Augustine Society reports)
⚜️ The true nature of the Miraculous 7 was getting harder & harder to conceal from the general public of Mystic Falls. William Webb and the Augustine Society, during this time, begin falling out of favor with each other as both parties disagree on the solution. While the Augustine Society recommends that he turn them over to their care as test subjects so they can recreate the process with a new batch. William believes his successes aren't possible to recreate. He thinks mankind (and the world) would benefit more if the children were sent out "into the field" to kill vampires. Against the Augustine Society's wishes, Will leaves Mystic Falls with the Miraculous 7 in 1999. His estate and properties is preserved in a trust, maintained by the Webb lawyers & Mathewson Realty. The grimoire disappears with William and the Miraculous 7, much to the Augustine Society's dismay. Years pass without any indication of where William (or his children) went. The Augustine Society is forced to prioritize their "Augustine Vampire" project as their final solution to the vampire threat at large.
⚜️ Between the years: 1999-2010, nothing is known about William's activities (nor that of the kids). The official story for Mystic Falls is that he moved to New Orleans with the kids presumably studying abroad. At the start of 2010, news begins to circulate about William being dead. This is confirmed when lawyers contact Mathewson Realty to transfer all the estate and property ownership to William's named heir: Zoey Webb. The details of Will's death are kept vague, though some mention of health complications is circulated through the rumor mill of Mystic Falls. Whether this is true or just another fabrication remains a mystery...
⚜️ In September 2010, Zoey Webb arrives in Mystic Falls, Virginia, to take over the Webb estates. She is alone and without the rest of the Miraculous 7, seemingly having suffered a falling out with all of them entirely. Rumors only spread like wildfire from there...

I want to give a shout out to all the shifters who don’t believe in the mainstream view of shifting, or law of assumption. To shifters who are religious, who believe in destiny or divine timing. Who don’t believe we’re all-powerful gods with all the answers. It’s okay to be uncertain. It’s okay to have beliefs that don’t align with ShiftTok or Shiftblr.
At the end of the day, nobody has the one way to shift. Your journey is no less valid, and you can still shift. ♥️♥️

Shoutout to Shifters who aren't certain. Who trust in their journey but still remain open on defining what is "real" or "isn't real" because their DR and CRs are both equally vivid.
A shoutout to people who can see dream and reality as intermingled. Holding hands with each other. Not opposed. Who don't try to construct solid walls around the two. Who are comfortable with being uncertain, but still engage with their shifting journey regardless. A shoutout to people who are okay with saying "I STILL don't know. Maybe both things are true?" even while traveling the multiverse.
You're fucking valid. And I see you.

I feel like scripting traumatic backstories for your DR can even be therapeutic in a way. Especially if the elements of the trauma you're scripting can be used as fuel for a personal glo-up or power reclamation via expressing and exploring the lessons that trauma teaches you.
There's something called "narrative therapy" that uses the power of story to recontextualize traumatic events or negative core beliefs.
But idk, a lot of people don't really shift for that.
This might be a controversial opinion but the whole "You can't script trauma because then you might get it in this CR." is BS. Since when can another reality affect any other? Shifters always talk about how no reality can affect each other, so surely it's the same for trauma? After all, you're most likely going through traumatic things in many other realities, as that's the nature of infinity. But are you aware of those traumas happening to you, no you're not, so then there's a reality where you shifted and even if traumatic things happen, in the reality you shift back, you won't have any trauma.
