okay, i'm sorry, but Boom was easily the best episode we've had in a long time. loved the interlocking logic, loved the AI stuff, the jabs against capitalism and war, the love of a father saving the day.

it's just a really compelling story. especially with the world looking the way it does. imho sci-fi is best when it is commenting on society and Boom absolutely delivered.

i'm glad Karvanista got a new family and all, but that this story didn't end with him moving into Dan's house is a travesty ngl

Dan Insists he's not got a roommate who's a furry, he's really a dog! but nobody believes him but nobody says it to him Either bc they're Way too scared of his guard furry who is grumpy, glares, and one time somebody Swears they saw him chasing squirrels in a park.

Karvanista and Diane are in a bitter rivalry of mutual hatred that has her telling him to go pee against a lamp post and he chews on all her shoes while he stares her in the eye. Sadly for Dan, eventually they begrudgingly start to like each other and end up dunking on Him as a duo instead.

the problem with watching doctor who as a child is that a small part of your brain can never completely give up the idea that the doctor exists. if i saw a blue police box materialize out of thin air i would not be anywhere near surprised enough.

i think before you all go crazy about how 'this historical figure was white!' with doctor who you need to remember that its a) fiction and b) an entirely different universe like! anything that differs from history/culture as we know it? i just interpret it as a difference in our universes. like this show has the royal family as being some kind of werewolves, there was a year where everyone was immortal, amy accidentally married henry the 8th... a historical figure being the 'wrong race' is the least of everyones issues (unless its whitewashing/erasure of identity obviously)

yes at times it was silly and weird and I'm not sure all of it made sense (why does Donna automatically know about all the things which have happened to the Doctor since they last met? yes, Time Lords are telepathic but not like that, or am I missing something???). But! Beep the Meep was a nice villain! And while I wasn't sure I wanted RTD to fix Donna's story, I'm glad he did bc having the Doctor and Donna back again has been an absolute treat. I could watch them doing another full season.
