I know I said this in response to a different post, but I think it deserves a post of its own.
You are NOT anti-harassment if you make exceptions.
If you sit there and go 'well, yeah, it's bad to tell others to kill themselves.' and then turn around a yell 'TERFs kill yourself!' or whatever, you aren't anti-harassment.
Do I like TERFs? Hell no. Do I like Nazis? Hell no. Do I like homophobes? Hell no. And there are a million other people and groups and whatnot that deep down in my heart, I absolutely detest.
However, you are not the better person for telling them to kill themselves. You are not morally superior or whatever. You are not remaining pure or some shit.
What you're doing is half-stooping down to their level.
What you're doing is still telling another human being to harm themselves.
What you're doing is still harassing another human being.
"Oh but they did detestable things they're monsters" stfu. They're human, just like you. Denying that only avoids the bitter, harsh truth that anybody around you could be awful, that YOU could have been awful if even just one thing was different. Humanize the bastards. It'll only remind you to tread through life with some degree of caution lest you make decisions that lead you to being just like them.
