Hello BINGO buddy! @guardiansofheroes here to ask you some questions about your oc Mara El-Masri! The Mummy is one of my childhood favorite movies so I get so excited seeing any ocs for it!!!

1.) Can you tell me the love dynamic between her and Jonathan Carnahan?!

2.) Do they end up having children? If so how many and what's their family life like together?

3.) Is there something you haven't shared yet about Mara? If so what is it? It could be something so little or something big!

4.) Can you tell me about the relationship Mara has with Evelyn Carnahan?

5.) What's the hardest thing Mara has had to deal with?

HI!! thank u for these questions i <3 them!!!!!

1. Can you tell me the love dynamic between her and Jonathan Carnahan?!

jara my emotional support m/f couple!! so right from the beginning of the story it’s very obvious that there’s a mutual attraction between them (more obvious on jonathan’s end than mara’s, and she doesn’t even actively realize she’s into him until evy points it out to her) and they are flirting practically all the time. jonathan calls her “darling” and mara calls him “dear” which is very cute to me (there’s also this thing that gets mentioned throughout the fic and that’s that mara’s always felt like she’s known jonathan for thousands of years, even when they hardly knew each other, which is a feeling that’s reciprocated by him)

so it’s fairly obvious to both how the other feels, especially after hamunaptra, but circumstances (most notably the fact that by the time act two starts they are living on 2 different continents and don’t see each other very often) keep them apart until other unrelated circumstances (named talib el-masri) throw them back together for good. there’s still a lot of bumps in the road along the way but they do end up very happily married and spend the rest of their lives together <333

2. Do they end up having children? If so how many and what's their family life like together?

they do! they have four (4) children that i’ve talked about before and am currently writing about in the fic — sarah, philip, jasmine, and leila. with four kids, life at the carnahan house is pretty chaotic, but by the time act four starts they do have a bit of a handle on things & have settled into a routine. very domestic, very sweet. like, jasmine & leila like helping to cook, philip likes going with mara to the museum, but sarah’s still figuring out who she is and what she likes. this said the only time that house is ever quiet is when nobody’s there

3. Is there something you haven't shared yet about Mara? If so what is it? It could be something so little or something big!

ooh i’m trying to think of something i haven’t shared yet hmmm.......this is fantastic because i think everything i’ve come up with for her is either in the fic or mentioned somewhere on this blog

OH! I HAVE SOMETHING! this is actually mentioned in the next chapter but that chapter hasn’t been posted so /technically/ i haven’t shared it yet! after the events of the first movie at hamunaptra, when they return to cairo, jamil (mara’s father) takes mara to the cemetery where his parents are buried and finally tells her about his life before meeting her mother. he’s always been very secretive about his upbringing and about his biannual trips to cairo, so he’s finally opening up to her which means so much to her

4. Can you tell me about the relationship Mara has with Evelyn Carnahan?

they are best friends! evy is the first real friend mara has had in a long time and they share a lot of the same morals and interests so they got along right away when they met. they are absolutely partners in crime, from conspiring to steal the book of the dead from the americans’ egyptologist to studying the hamunaptra treasure they accidentally took back to cairo with them together. the fact that they end up being sisters-in-law is the icing on the cake :)

5. What's the hardest thing Mara has had to deal with?

mara has been through Some Stuff but the worst thing she’s had to deal with and is still dealing with happened in act two of the fic. honestly i have been considering rewriting some of what happens to her (same general idea/plot, same ending, just some minor things changed) but long story short she comes VERY close to dying, to the point where her family already believes she’s gone, and is left with both physical and mental injuries and has never been quite the same as she was before. she’s still dealing with the trauma of what happened in riyadh almost 20 years later in act four, as well as the trauma from hamunaptra and ahm-shere
