I'm part of a group preparing the purchase of a new library management system and the things we should be able to use it for. I kid you not, someone legit suggested an AI chat function for answering questions from patrons.
Have you people forgotten why librarians exist?

My 60+ colleague today as we were saying goodbye after a work day that started with a minor crisis and went downhill from there:
"Remember, this isn't real life, it's just work. Now we go home and spend some time in the real world."

Have you ever cried or been significantly upset at the death of a celebrity?
Yes (which one?), because I cared about them or their work
Yes, for practical reasons (ex. it was a politician with good political views)
Yes, but not because I cared about them (ex. their cause of death was a trigger for you)
No, but I would if certain famous people were to die
No, and I wouldn't even if a celebrity I liked died
No, because there are no celebrities I like/care about
Other (put in tags)

A resident of Hamnavoe, Shetland Islands in Scotland, Anne Eunson decided to knit herself a beautiful lace fence using twine. The fence is fashioned from strong black twine - the same kind that is used to make fishing nets - and Anne knitted it on specially adapted curtain rods. It took her about three weeks to knit enough lace to surround her front garden, using a 23 stitch repeat of a familiar Shetland lace pattern.

CR closed caption editor here: If you're referring to issues in Twitch with captions, I believe that's a known issue on Twitch's end, especially with rebroadcasts. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it. Now, if there are major issues like that when the video hits YouTube, that's different, and it means that something went wrong with the caption file that we'd have to look into.
Thank you very much for the answer. I'll just have to rewatch when it hits YouTube then!

I love everything about this circle!
But I just have to ask. Am I the only one who's only getting like half of the closed captions? I see mouths moving, I hear sound coming out, but I can't for the life of me figure out what's being said. Sometimes the cc seems to cut off mid-monologue and pick up a sentence or two later.
I'm hearing impaired, but English is also my second language so this might just be me being stupid. Anyhow, I don't feel like I have had this much trouble with other CR productions.
Just trying to figure out if it's a problem on my end or if it's an accessibility issue.

How many people’s most beloved childhood stuffed animals are actually teddy bears, like I feel like that’s a thing someone made up. Reblog this and put what your longest owned and/or favorite stuffed animal as a child was in the tags, inquiring minds want to know

too sleepy to elaborate at this time but I miss the old fandom culture of interacting with fanfic writers and fanfic artists as members of the fandom community who enjoyed engagement and discussion and feedback instead of the modern trend of seeing us as content creators up on a pedestal who don't need positive feedback but DO need to churn out constant content to feed the a03 machine

In the future the way we treat different sleep schedules is going to be thought of as just as weird and barbaric as beating kids for being left-handed. People will read about how we thought certain circadian rhythms were bad and made people take melatonin and use special lights to make their circadian rhythms different, and they will think, "So sad and ignorant...everybody is just afraid of difference."

I know giving them the effects of a long rest in the middle of the battle might have been considered 'going soft' on these poor stoats but.
I really, really needed that ending right now. Thank you so much Aabria.
Brighter than the sun, swifter than the wind. Of course they would be. HE WAS A PROPHET THE WHOLE TIME!
