(The day of the staff appreciation party hosted by NEW DI)
Kuro: Harukawa-kun, I’ve come to refill the syrup
Sora: HaHa~! Red-onii~san, thank you! Strawberry is really popular~♪
Kuro: So it is… Are any of the fruits running out? Shiina said he would refill those
Sora: HiHi~. Thank you! Sora will keep making shaved ice~
Welcome to Sora’s shaved ice stand~♪
Ah, someone who was at the shooting the other day~? It was a big help! Thank you very much
One deluxe shaved ice coming right up! Please wait here a moment♪
Niki: Thanks for waiting! Two soba omelette and yakitori sets! Please enjoy, there are a few empty seats over there!
(Phew, it’s been more successful than I thought, but we’re getting by)
(Kiryu-kun is following me around a lot, so it seems the kids that came to help out can move around with peace of mind)
Ah, another customer… Thank you for your hard work, have you decided on your order?
Natsume: Well aren’t you excitED
Niki: Ah, if it isn’t Sakasaki-kin! You came after all
Natsume: Of courSE. Sora thought hard about this projECT
Niki: Nahaha. That’s true. If it’s Harukawa-kun you want, he’s in that stall?
Natsume: I’ll speak to Sora properly latER. But before thaT, I came to thank Shiina-senpai for cooperatING
Niki: I haven’t done much. The one who worked the hardest for today was Harukawa-kun
Niki: Really, we should thank Sakasaki-kun for sending over help
Natsume: Don’t worry about thAT… I suppose I’m just annoyED that Sora left me alone and came back after having a frieNDLY taLK
Subaru: Shiina-senpai! We’ve run out of drinks… Ah, Natsume! You’re late you know~!
Natsume: I had woRK. Anyway, you look like you’re havING fuN
Subaru: Yup☆ It’s kind of fun serving the staff as customers!
Niki: Akehoshi-kun. If you need drinks they’re over here. Just give me a second
Subaru: Thank you! See you, Natsume. Little yellow worked really hard on this staff appreciation party, so I hope it heals you a lot♪
Natsume: HonestLY, I’m having so much fUN… It’s not worth the blOW
Well, since this was Sora’s projecT, he won't forgive me if I don’t have fUN♪
Niki: That’s so unreasonable…
Natsume: No matter whAT, I’m just glad Sora is enjoying himsELF
Niki: If you’re worried about Harukawa-kun, wouldn’t it be nice to go check on him
Harukawa-kun said that he didn’t want to depend on you guys, but it’s okay to help as long as you don’t become a burden, okay?
Natsume: No, I caN’T. This tiME, that boy said he wanted to accompliSH this without the help of senPAI and mE
I don’t want to disregaRD Sora’s feelings, so I absolutely can’t heLP
BuT, this time I’ve decided to keep an eye on hiM. However, I plan to step iN if he looks like he’s sufferING
Niki: Eh~. Sakasaki-kun is thinking about a lot of things too, huh~
Natsume: …That reply makes it seem like you’re not thinkinG of anythiNG?
Hmph, well whatevER. I said it earlier buT, it’s thanks to you guys that I didn’t have to lend a haND
Including that lazy repLY, I’ll take it seriously todAY♪
Tsumugi: Fufu. Aren’t you in a good mood, Natsume-kun
Natsume: So Senpai is here tOO. I was sure you’d be chased down by work and not be able to coME
Tsumugi: You weren’t sure if I’d come? This morning I messaged you on ‘hold hands’ saying I would go!
Natsume: I know thAT. Anyway, are you feeling bettER? After all, Sora thought of this project with Senpai and the others in mind, riGHT?
I won’t forgive you until you fully recover your strenGTH, that way you can work like a horse in the afternOON
Niki: I don’t think that’s the case with Aoba-kun
Tsumugi: Don’t worry, Natsume-kun. I’ve already received a lot of energy from Sora-kun
Natsume: What are you grinning fOR?
…Is it that shaved ice in your haND
Tsumugi: Yes, I stood in line earlier and Sora-kun made it. There’s condensed milk mixed into the ice itself, making it really sweet and delicious♪
Sweets are really the best when you’re tired. When you eat them the fatigue just disappears
Natsume: Hmph, it's so cheeky of you to be this cunning as a senPAI
Tsumugi: Natsume-kun, get in line quickly and have some. It’s really delicious
Natsume: I was planning on doing that anywAY
Sora: HuHu~. Sora is happy that Master~ and Senpai are being friendly today too♪
Tsumugi: Sora-kun!? What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at your stall…
Sora: The customers don’t mind waiting! Everyone is kind so they’ll forgive Sora~
Master~! Senpai! Thank you for coming to the staff appreciation party today!
Sora has some shaved ice for Master~! Please accept it!
Natsume: This is the shaved ice that was Sora’s idEA huh. Thank you, I’ll have soME
…Hmm, Sora? There isn’t any fruit on miNE?
Sora: HeHe~♪ Have a look, this is Sora’s happy magic!
Tsumugi: Wah! It’s suddenly covered in fruit, Natsume-kun!
Natsume: Shut uP, Senpai. You don’t have to say anything, you can tell by just looking, can’t you keep quiET?
Tumblr media
Sora: Dig in, Sora’s deluxe shaved ice! Sora used lots of different fruits. The shape is cute, and it's fun just to look at~?
If you eat this, your tiredness will fly away!
Master~ and Senpai, thank you for always working so hard
But, Sora thinks you work too hard~. Sora wants you to rest your mind like this sometimes too
Sora is still inexperienced as a magician but… Sora wants to lend a little bit of Master~ and Senpai’s power!
Tsumugi: Thank you, Sora-kun. We’ll be careful from now on so you don’t have to worry so much
Natsume: YeS. And, this time you’ve worked hard. As your master, I’m proUD♪
Sora: HoHo~! Sora got praised by Master~. Sora is very happy!
Kuro: Amazing. That Harukawa made everyone here smile in no time
Niki: He did. I’m relieved that Harukawa-kun seems to b having fun too♪
Kuro: You were supporting loads while I was away weren’t you? Sorry I left you with all the work
Niki: Not at all. It’s not like I’m doing anything. I’m just listening to these guys talk
Well, I’m just glad I was able to help
(Harukawa-kun may think he has a long way to go. To me, he’s already a great magician♪)
(Because, in no time he made everyone smile despite their tired faces)
(I wonder if I was able to help the little wizard too…♪)

Colourful Good Job Episode 6
Episode 6
Season: Summer
Characters: Sora, Niki
(Several hours later)
Niki: Sorry to keep you waiting, Harukawa-kun. I was mean to be off today, but it suddenly started to get crowded, so I thought they might need some serious help…
Sora: Haha~. Don’t worry~. Sora is okay
Niki: In this case, it might have been better to go to Seisoukan and practice alone
Sora: Please don’t apologise. Sora was the one that selfishly said Sora wanted to practice here today
Cooking-onii~san. Are you done helping?
Niki: I am. All that’s left is the washing up, once that’s done I think we can use the kitchen again.
Sora: But, Cooking-onii~san, the shop owner is calling you~? You’re popular
Niki: Eeh!? What is it this time? More than that, I don’t want to keep Harukawa-kun waiting
There are more ingredients being delivered than you expected, so you want me to help move them?
Uu~ I get it. I’m coming now~!
Harukawa-kun. I’ll be back soon! Just wait a little longer!
Sora: HiHi~ Sora will wait patiently~. Good luck with work
Niki: (I get the feeling Harukawa-kun is becoming less enthusiastic after that talk with Akehoshi-kun)
(But, even though I don’t want to leave Harukawa-kun on his own… There’s nothing at all I can do to help)
(One way or another, I want Harukawa-kun to go back to his usual self)
(…That’s it! If I use that, surely it’ll make him happy!)
Sora: ………
Niki: I’m back, Harukawa-kun!
Sora: Ah, Cooking-onii~san. Welcome back
Are you done with work?
Niki: Yep. I’m really really sorry I’ve kept you waiting!
Tumblr media
I’m really sorry for the trouble, but I’ve brewed some rare tea for you to try♪
Sora: The tea definitely has a strange scent… Ah!
There’s flowers inside the pot! This is the first time Sora has seen whole flowers inside~!
Niki: Yeah, if you put the flowers inside the like, it feels really special!
Sora: HuHu~! It tastes super delicious too~. It makes Sora happy♪
Niki: Nahaha. I’m glad I could make you happy
Harukawa-kun didn’t seem to be feeling well. It’s magic from me to make you feel better♪
Sora: You made this for Sora? Sorry that Sora made you worry
Niki: Not at all. I had fun making the tea anyways!
It’s true that I prepared this tea because I really wanted Harukawa-kun to feel better
But, I couldn’t help but want to make tea with these flowers when they arrived
Because Harukawa-kun is here, I get to hear your impressions of the tea. I’m really grateful♪
Sora: Sora is glad that Cooking-onii~san isn’t overdoing it
Niki: What about you, Harukawa-kun? Are you really having fun preparing the staff appreciation party? Isn’t there anything that you want to do?
If there is, I want you to talk to me about it
Sora: Hmm~… Sora is always by Master~ and Senpai’s side
They hold Sora’s hands and listen to Sora’s stories. They tell Sora what to do~
But, Master~ and the rest aren’t here now. Sora is a little worried if everyone will be happy if Sora does what Sora wants~
Sora really can’t do anything alone…
Niki: You’re not alone, Harukawa-kun. You have me now, don’t you
I may not be as dependable as Sakasaki-kun and Aoba-kun but… I want Harukawa-kun to have fun with this project as well
So let’s think about it together. A project that will bring smiles to both Harukawa-kun and the people he wants to say ‘thank you for everything’ to♪
Just because you don’t have enough budget or manpower, that doesn’t mean you can’t do what you want!
Even everyday ingredients can become the perfect meal if you cook them properly. It all depends on your idea!
Sora: HeHe~. Cooking-onii~san has a very warm ‘colour’~
…Onii~san. Sora wants to apply the ‘magic’ that Sora learned from Master~ and Senpai to everyone. Sora wants to fill the staff appreciation party with happy ‘colours’~☆
Niki: That’s a lot of ‘colours’… Multicoloured, colourful. In that case, let’s reconsider the menu♪
If we were to use a lot of colours, would it be fruits or vegetables? It also has to be something simple that wouldn’t burden Harukawa-kun to cook…  Something like dessert?
Sora: HoHo~♪ Sora loves sweets! Sora thinks dessert is a great idea~!
Niki: In that case, I’ll try thinking in that direction, I’ll discuss the budget with Kiryu-kun when he comes tomorrow. If we adjust the ingredients we might be able to do something!
Sora: That’s the ‘magic’ of cooking! Sora is getting kinda excited~♪

Colourful Good Job Episode 5
Episode 5
Season: Summer
Characters: Subaru, Kuro, Sora, Tsumugi, Niki
(A few days later)
Sora: Hmm~. Sora messed up again~ It’s hard to wrap yakisoba in egg
Niki: Not at all, you’ve only just started practising and you’re already pretty good!
The next one will surely be a beautiful soba omelette! Keep going, don’t be discouraged!
Sora: HaHa~. Even if Sora uses a lot of eggs, Sora can’t get it right~?
Niki: Please don’t worry. I’ll be responsible for eating everything Harukawa-kun makes♪
Kuro: Shiina. Do you really think that’s what Harukawa is worried about?
Niki: Harukawa-kun, I think you’re good with your hands, there’s just a strange force in your body
Let’s take a break and try again after. We still have time
Sora: Cooking-onii~san is so kind~? But it’s okay. Sora wants to keep it up for just a bit longer
…Whenever Sora does this, Sora remembers the time when Sora cooked for Kei-chan-senpai~♪
Kuro: Kei-chan-senpai… Are you talking about danna?
Sora: HiHi~. Last year, Kei-chan-senpai and Sora made Chinese dumplings together. It was fun~
Niki: Sounds great~, Chinese dumplings. If you can even make bean paste dough, it can easily be added to the menu!
Kuro: Haha, that’s a good idea. If we do then I want danna to come eat some too
Sora: Sora wants Kei-chan-senpai to come too! Sora wants lots of people to have fun at the staff appreciation party~!
Niki: …Speaking of which, Kiryu-kun. Are we good for time? Didn’t you say you had work in the afternoon
Kuro: Shoot. It’s already noon huh. It seems a little early to head over now, but its always good to be flexible
Sorry but, I gotta get going. Harukawa, don’t overdo it
Sora: Yep! Next time Sora meets red-onii~san, Sora will show you how to make a really beautiful soba omelette~!
Kuro: Sure♪ I’ll leave the rest to you, Shiina
Niki: Leave Harukawa-kun to me! …Now then,  let’s give it another shot
Subaru: Ummm… Oh, found him! Hey there~ Little yellow~!
Sora: Ah, Sparkling-onii~san! Hello~!
Subaru: Yup! I’m relieved you look like you’re doing okay~☆
Niki: Akehoshi-kun. Did you come to have your lunch at ‘Cinnamon’?
Subaru: Nope. I had lunch in the lunch room so I’m all good. Aside from that, you’re planning a staff appreciation party, aren’t you? So was true that you were working in ‘Cinnamon’
Niki: When it’s not busy I’m allowed to borrow the kitchen
Ah, did you get permission? On the day of the staff appreciation party, lots of people will come to help
Subaru: Is that so? Shiina-senpai, you’re surprisingly reliable~♪
I saw Kiryu-senpai earlier, could it be that you’re already done preparing?
Sora: No, Red-onii~san had work, so Sora is still practicing a little~
Subaru: Oh, I see! From the looks of it, it’s going well
Sora: HuHu~. Sora is going to be a cooking master after this! Right now Sora is going to make a soba omelette, and Sora wants Sparkly-onii~san to watch~
Subaru: Sounds good☆ I’m curious about why you chose soba omelette!
Sora: Fufun, the staff requested it!
Subaru: …H~mm. If you’re practising hard, then it'll be the best thing on the staff appreciation party menu
Niki: No, not necessarily. I’d recommend the yakitori and potato fries too
Subaru: Really? I like soba omelette and yakitori and potato fries, so I’ll be happy no matter which you recommend♪
Sora: Red-onii~san taught me about yakitori so that Sora can grill it properly!
Sora will also be able to wrap the soba omelette nicely! Senpai and the others will be really surprised~
…HeHe~? Sparkling-onii~san, did you just take a picture right now?
Subaru: Sorry for taking it candidly? I think I just feel more relieved if I can see that you’re having fun cooking
Niki: Speaking of which, you said you were relieved earlier? Were you worried about us?
Subaru: Something funny has been happening to Natsume recently~  He’s always groaning “Sora this, Sora that”
I think he gets a little lonely if he doesn’t see Little yellow for a while. He’s getting frustrated because you haven’t even discussed it with him
Sora: …Sora is making Master~ uneasy?
Subaru: Is that true? Is that why he asked me to check on you?
…Ah, I shouldn’t have said that. Keep it a secret from Natsume, okay?
Since I’ve come all this way… Why don’t you tell me more about this staff appreciation party
I have to tell Natsume no matter what the situation is, so I’m curious about what kinda plan you’re coming up with☆
(A few minutes later)
Sora: …Like this~? Did Sora explain it well enough?
Niki: I think you did. Is there anything you didn’t understand, Akehoshi-kun?
Subaru: Nope. You properly conveyed what the staff appreciation party is going to be like
I thought it would be okay because Natsume says that NEW DI is always on fire, but I think that’s a good thing too
The staff appreciation party is going to be the usual fun isn’t it?
Sora: …’Usual’?
Subaru: Yeah. Because Little yellow is the host, I thought the staff appreciation party would be a little strange
I’m glad it’s come together nicely. Is it the result of you asking around?
Niki: Well, although it can’t be extravagant due to the budget, isn’t it okay as long as it makes people happy
It’s not like Harukawa-kun isn’t satisfied with the current plan, right?
Sora: Yeah. This is a plan to make Senpai and the staff happy. Sora properly understands that~?
Subaru: H~mm. You’re really thinking about everyone huh. I think it’s certainly going to make them happy…
But, are you really having fun Little yellow?
Sora: …Does Sora look like Sora isn’t having fun?
Subaru: It’s just that, I don’t know you that well so I don’t know what your true feelings are
It just looks like you’re holding back somehow. Am I wrong?
Sora: ………
Subaru: Sorry. If somethings up, Natsume’s really gonna be upset. But, maybe I stuck my nose in too much as an outsider
As I thought, we’ve been talking for ages, so I’d better get back. On the day, I’ll take Natsume along to hang out☆
Niki: He said what he wanted to and left
Sora: (Sora just wanted to do something for Senpai and the others that are always working hard)
(Cooking-onii~san and the others are helping, and the preparations for the staff appreciation party are going smoothly. Sora thought that if the party was held, surely everyone could have fun)
(Sora is having fun too, right?)

Colourful Good Job Episode 4
Episode 4
Season: Summer
Characters: Kuro, Sora, Tsumugi, Niki
Tsumugi: Um~ Are you still having the meeting…? I’m late but I brought tea and snacks
Sora: HeHe~. Good job with work today Senpai!
Niki: Those snacks look delicious. I’ll have some, thank you!
Tsumugi: Go ahead. I’m sorry I couldn’t turn up even though I’m looking after NEW DI
Kuro: Don’t worry about it. You were out and about for meetings today too, right? Good job
Tsumugi: Thank you very much. How are things progressing with the staff appreciation party?
Sora: Yes! The project proposal was just finalised right now! We’ve kept to the budget, and with this the staff will be able to have fun~♪
Tsumugi: Fufu. I’m glad things are going well♪ Sora-kun, you asked around a lot for this staff appreciation party, right?
Kuro: Ah. So you know about it too, Aoba
Tsumugi: Of course. It’s the talk of the office. It seems everyone is looking forward to it
Some of the younger idols in the office have said that they wanted to help out
Niki: That would be a real help! Somehow the problem we’ve ended up with is not having enough manpower
Sora: Yep! Senpai, after this Sora wants you to count how many people are willing to help!
Tsumugi: Understood. I’ll call out to you
Sora: HoHo~♪ With everyone cooperating, let’s refresh Senpai and the staff~!
Tsumugi: Fufu. I’m really glad you said you wanted to hold a staff appreciation party Sora-kun
When it comes to working on a staff appreciation party, it’s hard to give up on other people
If you leave it as a job, you get the feeling you’re being forced to do it
I was thinking of starting a plan that would line up with my work but I just didn’t have the time
But, Sora-kun and the two of you have really helped me out by lending a hand in planning the staff appreciation party
It’s not actually easy to take action
But today, even though you went through all the trouble to start up a plan, we don’t have enough funds or manpower
I was so anxious about what to do if the plan didn’t turn out well
Kuro: Actually, there’s no doubt that it was tough
Tsumugi: Fufu. But somehow you managed all in one piece
I think I worried too much. I’m really relieved it turned out to be a fun plan
Sora: Sora wants everyone to have fun, that alone will make Sora happy~
Sora didn’t really know what to do about the staff appreciation party at first, but after after listening to the staff, Sora understood little by little
The staff appreciation party that everyone wants
That’s what makes this the perfect vision
Tsumugi: The perfect vision?
Sora: No, don’t worry about it~? Right now Sora is looking forward to seeing Senpai’s happy face☆
Cooking-onii~san, let’s practice cooking right away so everyone can properly relax at the staff appreciation party!
Niki: Eh, right now? Even though Aoba-kun just got here?
Sora: Yep! We have to put together the project proposal, so we’re going now! See you tomorrow, Senpai…!
Kuro: What are you in a hurry for, Harukawa-kun? We can write up and submit the project proposal right here
Niki: Aren’t you guys hungry? In any case, lets go
Kuro: Ohh. Take care Aoba, I guess
Tsumugi: Y-Yeah. I wonder what’s up with Sora-kun…?

Colourful Good Job Episode 3
Episode 3
Season: Summer
Characters: Kuro, Sora, Niki
(The next day)
Sora: HaHa~♪ Hello! Sora is enthusiastic today too☆
Niki: Hiy~a, Harukawa-kun. You’re enthusiastic today too, eh~
Sora: Hm~ ? Cooking-onii~san, you have a happy ‘colour’?
Niki: So you can tell! The truth is, earlier I was notified that the package I ordered has been shipped♪
Anyway, what do you mean by ‘colour’?
Sora: Yep. Sora can see lot’s more ‘colours’ than other people
Cooking-onii~san is always overflowing with bright ‘colours’. It makes Sora happy just watching.
Niki: Eh, sounds like fun. My cooking looks just as colourful, doesn’t it?
Kuro: Oh, I’m the last huh. Were you waiting long?
Niki: No, you made it in time so it’s okay
Kuro: My bad. Anyway, everyone is here, so let’s get started with the plan for the staff appreciation party.
Sora: HiHi~! Sora collected some information from the staff just for today!
Niki: Harukawa-kun did something like that, eh
Sora: Yup! It was fun getting to hear lots of different stories~. Sora summarised all the data, wanna see?
Kuro: Lemme see… Lots of people said they had thought about it, but were too busy with work to know if they could participate
Sora: It’ll be sad if no one comes even though we’re hosting it especially
Kuro: It’d be nice if it can be held at a time when as many people as possible can stop by
Niki: Well what about after everyone’s finished with work? Like saying thanks for working hard every day?
Sora: Ah… But, Sora heard that it’s a problem if its too late~. Everyone has different circumstances when they’ve finished work, Sora wants to respect their privacy
Niki: Ah~ That’s true. If I can’t eat a delicious meal then I definitely wouldn’t participate…
Kuro: What about holding it around noon?
Normally, anyone would go to the staff canteen or “Cinnamon”, but on the day of the staff appreciation party we can serve a delicious meal so everyone can feel refreshed
Sora: HuHu~ That’s a great idea! That way we don’t have to get in the way of the staff’s work~♪
Niki: In that case, we should find a place closer to ES. Maybe more people will come if it’s a place that doesn’t take long to travel to
Kuro:  Ah. Where in ES… What about a large conference room or the break room?
Niki: If it’s not even halfway big enough everyone will end up crammed in
Sora: If that happens, no one will be refreshed at all~?
Niki: Somewhere a little more open would be a better idea. Are there any good ideas in the data you’ve summarised?
Sora: Hm~m. A place where it’ll be okay if lots of people turn up, and a sense of openness…
Ah, what about the sky garden? It’s outside so it won't get cramped even if everyone turns up!
Kuro: That’s right. It’s really spacious, so that’s not a bad idea
We’ve got the venue down, next is food…
Niki: Loud and clear! I want you to take a look at the menu I’ve been thinking up to fit the budget
Kuro: Are you going to make the meals in advance and then bring them to the sky garden?
Niki: Of course. It’s necessary to prepare in advance but taking each individual order and preparing it there and then wouldn’t be impossible
‘Cinnamon’ has a mobile stall, so I’m gonna ask to lend it♪
Sora: A stall? It’s going to be like a festival, how fun~♪
Kuro: Haha, Harukawa-kun seems really keen, so let’s go with the idea of borrowing that stall to make the meals
Niki: Roger that! As the chef, I want people to eat my freshly-made food
Kuro: We have Shiina to do the cooking, so we don’t need to worry♪
Niki: Of course, leave it to me! But if I get tired, you’re good at cooking aren’t you, Kiryu-kun
We’ve cooked together many times during club activities, you’re really skillful and helpful
Kuro: I’m nowhere near as good as a chef though. What about Harukawa-kun? Do you usually cook meals?
Sora: Nope, Sora doesn’t really cook~. All Sora can do is help someone cook
Kuro: If that’s the case, I wonder if easy meals will be good enough.
Niki: If it comes to it, we could make grilled dishes. Like yakisoba or yakitori~…
(30 minutes later)
Sora: Hmm~… Have we decided what we need to do?
Kuro: Although the budget is limited, we’ve written a surprisingly strong plan, haven’t we?
Niki: I feel like we’ve got a fun idea that makes me think “I’ll do my best tomorrow too”, right, Harukawa-kun?
Sora: Yeah! I think this plan will make the staff and the others happy!
Sora alone couldn’t have made a plan like this~ Thank you so much♪
Niki: No way, Harukawa-kun collected all the opinions in advance!
Kuro: It’s as Shiina says. Without this, it would’ve been tough to make a plan today
Sora: Sora is very happy that Sora could be useful~♪

Colourful Good Job Episode 2
Episode 2
Season: Summer
Characters: Kuro, Sora, Niki
Sora: ………
(Master~ and Senpai are trying their hardest. But, Sora has to try Sora’s hardest too)
(…But, Sora gets the feeling the difficulty is different for Senpai than for Sora~?
(Sora will get closer to Senpai and the others no matter how hard Sora tries, right)
 …Wawa!?
Niki: Oops, sorry I bumped into you! …Oh, if it isn’t Harukawa-kun
Kuro: I was so absorbed in the story I didn’t notice. We gotta be more careful turning corners. Are you hurt?
Sora: HaHa~♪ Sora is sturdy so it's okay~. Thank you for worrying!
Hmm? You two have an excited ‘colour’~. Were you talking about something fun?
Kuro: Yeah. I was talking to Shiina about the next “Sleepover Leisure Team” activities
We were talking about where to go, but suddenly it turned into a talk about camping food
This Shiina guy knows a lot about that, so he was thinking up lots of delicious meal ideas
Niki: Nahaha, I’m happy you’re interested, Kiryu-kun!
Camping food is surprisingly good if you add a few special ingredients and a little extra effort to instant food
Plus, it tastes absolutely delicious, so I recommend it♪!
Kuro: In the end, I’m getting more fired up about what kinda camping food we can make next rather than where we’re going
Niki: You said that earlier, Kiryu-kun.
Don’t you think it’s a good idea to make the club activities focus around eating camping food?
Sora: HiHi~♪ It sounds fun~.  Sora also wanted to go to the “ASOBI club”!
Niki: Rinne is in the “ASOBI club”. Isn’t that guy too disorderly?
Sora: Nope! It’s super fun playing with Gambler-nii-san!
Niki: Gambler-nii-san you say… Harukawa-kun you shouldn’t get involved in bad games!
Kuro: After all, you don’t know when you’ll be busy again. Play when you can.
Niki: Eh? “MDM” is already over, can’t you take it easy for a while?
Kuro: Doesn’t that depend on the person?
Because of “MDM”, some people are busy getting new jobs all at once, while others are running around trying to deal with the aftermath
Actually, danna* seems to be as busy as always?
*Keito. Danna means ’boss’ or ‘husband’.
I kinda feel like it’s similar to New Di, right? I heard from danna that you have less staff compared to other offices.
Sora: Yeah. It feels like they’re so busy and don’t have enough hands~ Sora is worried they’ll collapse from pushing too hard
Kuro: That Aoba guy can manage his own health. I don’t think you need to worry so much…
But, it’s not good to work too hard. He should take a break and relax.
Niki: Yup. Once in a while, I can be free from work, eat something delicious, and rest my body!
Sora: …You two really think so?
Kuro: I guess. Although I can’t be useful even if I help danna with his office work, the only thing I can do is hang out with him for a change of pace.
Sora: ………
Niki: Harukawa-kun? Why the long face?
Sora: The truth is…
Kuro: I see. So you want to hold a staff appreciation party for the staff, but Aoba is too busy to start panning
Niki: Well I think it’s a great idea~ You can eat delicious food and get refreshed
Sora: Sora thought so too. But, starting a staff appreciation party sounds tough?
It seems like you have to think about a lot of things, like manpower and funds~?
Kuro: New Di doesn’t have enough of either of those. But, I think it would be best for Aoba, who knows about the internal situation, to come up with a plan…
Sora knows that it’s tough to hold a staff appreciation party. You have to think about everyone, so it’s better for Senpai to do it
But, if that’s the case, it feels like Senpai will be the only one trying his best
Sora knows that Senpai and the staff are trying their hardest. That’s why Sora wants everyone to be happy~?
But, Sora doesn’t really know what to do to make that happen
Niki: Ah, Harukawa-kun, are you worrying about planning the staff appreciation party yourself?
Sora: Eh?
Niki: Huh, was I wrong? I was almost certain
Sora: No… That’s not wrong, Sora thinks.
Sora wants to say ‘thank you’ to the staff and Senpai for always doing their best for the idols
But… Don’t you think it would be strange for Sora to plan it?
Niki: What’s strange about it? It’ll be okay as long as Harukawa-kun has that feeling!
Sora: But, Sora is nervous about preparing it all alone. Senpai and the others won’t want to lend a hand because they’re busy. More than that, Sora doesn’t want to be a burden
Kuro: If you’re holding a staff appreciation party you’ll need to prepare a venue and meals, it’s hard to do all that by yourself
Haha, project proposals aren’t really my strong point though… Well, maybe if I ask danna for some tips, I can at least watch
Sora: …Eh?
Niki: Ri~ght! I want you to leave the menu to me. I’ll Try planning meals that meet your budget!
Kuro: I’m not so heartless as to tell you to light a fire and just go for it
Sora: Thank you! It‘ll be reassuring if you two are there!
Niki: Now that’s decided, let's discuss planning details!
Kuro: Calm down. We need to make sure it’s okay to hold a staff appreciation party first, let’s go check with that Aoba dude
Sora: HuHu~. Sora hopes we can hold a staff appreciation party that will make Senpai and the others happy~!

Colourful Good Job Episode 1
Episode 1
Season: Summer
Characters: Sora, Tsumugi
Tsumugi: …Yes. I’ve received it securely. Once I’ve put a stamp on I’ll take care of it.
No, I’m grateful that you’ve helped me get this far, despite all the work I’m doing.
Rather, really I should be the one apologising for increasing the work of all the staff!
Ah.  After this you have a recording to attend? I’m sorry for holding you back.
If there’s anything I can do, please get in touch immediately.
…Ye~ah. The staff really bear a heavy burden. What other jobs can I be involved with.
Sora: ………
Tsumugi: Oh, Sora-Kun. What are you doing peeking through the doorway? Aren’t you going to come in?
Sora: …! HaHa~. Good morning, Senpai!
Tsumugi: Yes. Good morning~ ♪
That’s right. We got a box of cakes from the suppliers. They’re really delicious, would you like one, Sora-kun?
Sora: Yay, Sora’ll have one, since Sora was just getting hungry♪
Tsumugi: Go right ahead. Anyway, are you here on an errand?
Sora: Nope. I have a little time before my next job, so I came to see senpai!
HiHi~. Senpai seems busy, so should Sora give you some energy~?
Tsumugi: Fufu. Thank you very much~ ♪ Thanks to Sora I can give it my all until the afternoon.
Sora: Is Senpai busy again today? Do you want to play with Sora when you’re next off work~?
Tsumugi: That’s all the more reason I have to work hard so I can be done with quickly.
Please don’t worry. My workload has been increasing recently, but I should be able to relax a little in no time.
Sora: Sora will worry no matter what. Not just Senpai, but isn’t Master busy too~?
Even though “MDM” is over, why is everyone still busy?
Tsumugi: Ah, I see. To Sora-kun it looks like ES has regained their composure as a whole…
Sora: Yeah. Before, everyone at ES was tense… The ‘colour’ of suffering and weariness was everywhere. Sora was suffocating~…?
Now that “MDM” is over that painful ‘colour’ is going away little by little.
But, like Senpai said, does it just look like it’s regained its composure?
Tsumugi: In reality, it seems as though an increasing amount of staff are taking leave at other offices.
Unlike other places, we don’t have a lot of funds.
Operations that could normally be made more efficient if we had the money to do so, we have no choice but to steadily handle with the people we currently have.
Sora: But, isn’t it bad to push yourself too much?
Tsumugi: That’s right. A lot of staff are burdened with the current situation.
In reality, it’s apparent that everyone here seems exhausted. I’m also getting myself involved in all the work I can…
Sora: HuHu~. If you do that, won’t Senpai just get really tired~?
Tsumugi: Fufu. Sora-kun is a good kid. But, I still have some flexibility, so I’m fine.
But, I’d like to relax soon. As the deputy director, if I work hard, then everyone else can take a break, right?
I wish I could use this opportunity to hold a staff appreciation party.
Sora: A staff appreciation party?
Tsumugi: Yeah. It would be difficult regarding the schedule to suddenly increase the number of days off…
I was wondering about holding a party to thank everyone for their hard work thus far.
Sora: HeHe~! Sora agrees! Sora thinks it would be good to reward everyone for their hard work~?
Tsumugi: Fufu. I’m not sure if it will be a reward though. But, if we hold a staff appreciation party, we’ll need manpower and funds.
We would need to reserve a venue and prepare meals.
But, if we allocate too much staff for that, it’s possible that people will think they should be diverted to work.
Sora: ………? People will get angry even though you want them to relax at the staff appreciation party?
Tsumugi: I’m not necessarily saying that anyone at New Di thinks that way. I think they would be happy that we even held a party at all.
I’m just saying it might be a possibility. When it comes to balancing plans… I can’t do everything the way I want so it’s difficult to make arrangements.
That’s why I’m thinking I could plan to avoid any thorns… But considering the work I have, it might be difficult for a while.
Ah, I’m sorry. I didn’t plan on telling Sora-kun such a heavy story…
Sora: No, Sora doesn’t mind~!
In fact, Sora is happy to know that Senpai is thinking of everyone♪
Sora will work hard so that Senpai can take it easy~!
Tsumugi: Ahaha. Sora-kun has already helped me a lot. So please don’t worry about it.
Sora: Well, Sora had better head off, see you later Senpai~♪
Tsumugi: Yes. Take care, Sora-kun.

A Premature Burial Episode 9
A Premature Burial
Episode 9
Season: Winter
Characters: Mika, Shu
Tumblr media
(Lunchtime the next day, the Chinese restaurant nearby ES building)
Mika: *Chewing loudly*
Shu: Non! The way you eat is disgusting as ever, were you raised by animals?
Well, I suppose eating and sleeping properly is what lets one grow big and strong. You were in poor health last year because everything you did was suited to me.
Mika: Nnah~ But Oshisan.
Shu: Talk after you’ve swallowed.
Mika: Nnah~ … *chew chew* *gulp*
Umm… What were ya sayin’ again?
Oh yeah. Ya said ya were gonna leave me in charge of the food while we’re back home, but was this Chinese restaurant really okay?
Oshisan is always livin’ abroad so don’t ya miss Japanese food?
Shu: You might generally think that.
I was a western-minded child, even when I lived at home I had a dislike of Japanese food, and got scolded for eating croissants in secret.
Mika: Nnah~ I guess it’s true when ya say it like that. Ain’t that why ya always kept a furnace at home.
Ahaha. This time I really feel like I’m gettin’ to know Oshian better, I’m real happy.
Shu: What does that mean… Now’s not the time for this carefree idle chatter.
My family are trying to respond seriously to my grandfather’s unreasonable behaviour. That troublesome old man gets angry if we cut corners.
Of course, none of my other family members are artists.
I’m a nonconformist, a freak. My grandfather is similarly so, and I was called his second coming.
Therefore, it seems my family members will likely hire renowned artists and funeral service professionals.
Mika: Usually, it’s best t’ rely on professional funeral directors fer a funeral.
Shu: Yes. If we want to defeat such a formidable enemy and win this “funeral contest”, we need to come up with a new idea.
Even if it's done the usual way, they’re not likely to win. Although we are artists who are regarded highly in society, we’re amateurs when it comes to funeral services.
Mika: Nnah~ I agree with ya, but what’re we really gonna do?
Ya said we’re schemin’ but… Ain’t it no good to have a funeral that eccentric?
Shu: Hmph. It’s because these old fashioned narratives have started to break down that we have fine art today.
Of course, I, too, have no plan to behave in such an indecent manner.
Properly mourning my beloved grandfather is my top priority, and the results of this “funeral contest” can be said to be secondary or even tertiary.
Mika: Yeah.
Shu: In that respect— We have an advantage over my other relatives, as I have a stronger bond with my grandfather than anyone else.
I know the deceased the best, therefore I believe we can capture his most desired funeral.
Mika: But, yer grandad ain’t “deceased” yet… Well, I get what ya wanna say.
This ain’t really the same as our usual performances aimed at the general public, it’s different from weavin’ up stuff specifically fer fans—
It’s more like something made-ta-order fer a specific person, fer yer grandad.
Honestly, it makes sense to adapt it to the person’s preferences an’ stuff.
Shu: Fufu. I’m glad we can have a decent conversation like this. Back then, all you would do was listen to my endless explanations, confused and not understanding a word of it.
It was as if I was a mother bird feeding her chick.
But, now that you have grown like this, we can fly alongside one another.
The truth is, I’m happy… You’ve gotten big, Kagehira.
Mika: W-What’s goin’ on, yer talkin’ like an old man, Oshisan.
Rafaello: “—I apologise for the inconvenience. I don’t mean to trouble you.”
“Do you mind if I barge in on this conversation too?”
Mika: Nnah? Where’s that strange voice comin’ from? Ain’t that the voice of that suspicious guy Rafaello who says he’s yer grandad’s illegitimate child?
Shu: I don’t mind if you want to join, but shall we move to another place?
The grease from the food will splash here.
Because of that, I have your doll packed up neatly into my bag.
Rafaello: “I think that’s a good idea.”
”I want to express my regret that even things that were originally daily necessities are kept in the back of museums and treated as nothing more than works of art.”
“Dolls are meant to be cherished. I cannot help but say that getting dirt or scratches on them is inexcusable.”
Shu: There are people who love dirt and scratches, isn’t that right, Kagehira?
Mika: Uh, uh, why’re ya shakin’ me?
Rafaello: “Fufu. You will have to travel quite some distance. My— No, your villa’s storage room should do.”
“I have something I must tell you two there.”
Shu: We have to return to that building again? It takes quite some time to get to.
Rafaello: “Of course, I’ll wait. No, I’ve always been waiting.”
“I don’t think of it as anything other than a little more useless waiting time.”

A Premature Burial Episode 8
A Premature Burial
Episode 8
Season: Winter
Characters: Kuro, Nazuna, Mika, Shu
Tumblr media
(Later that day. Starmony Dorm theatre room.)
Kuro: Hmm. I don’t quite get it, but it looks like it’s turning into a confusing situation.
Because of that, you thought it would be helpful as a reference for this ‘funeral contest’ thing, and you’ve been watching funeral videos depicted in movies as visual material.
Haha. You’re surprisingly hardworking♪
Shu: Not that I care, but aren’t you in a good mood? You’re making that strange relaxed face without even wrinkling your brow— Did something good happen?
Kuro: Ah, Itsuki… I feel like this is the first time I can relate to you.
It’s surprisingly good, it’s a cute frilly fluttery outfit.
Shu: What the hell happened, Kiryu!?
Aah, old friend! I can’t believe someone as thick-skulled as you is saying that, did you hit your head too!?
Nazuna: Itsuki… Kuro-chin is so heartless~, even though I said I didn’t want to.
H-He made me wear elementary school girl’s clothes against my will, and took photo after photo.
Shu: Kiryu. I’ve known you for a long time, and we’ve never hit one another once.
I don’t think I can win against you in karate, I’m sorry but we’re going to have to duel this out like gentlemen. Kagehira, Nito, get down.
Mika: Nnaah…?
Nazuna: Wait, I’m happy that you’re getting angry but weren’t you doing the same thing to me? In the past?
Not that I care. I’m not angry anymore, I was just happy I could be useful to Kuro-chin for the first time.
No, Kuro-chin would do anything for me. Ever since I was a doll, and even now.
It’d be unfair if I don’t say that I’m picky and only accepted because it's Kuro-chin, who’s tough and reliable as always.
Kuro: Nito…♪
Shu: I think you ought to refuse disagreeable things if you don’t want to do them— Nito.
Nazuna: I guess so. I said it was okay so don’t fight just for the sake of it~ It’ll get complicated.
Nazuna: There's probably a lot going on over there right now. We don't have the time to be causing an inconvenience.
Mika: That's right, I still can’t really digest the circumstances all that good myself.
Kuro: What are the circumstances… I feel like I've lost Nito's trust by getting out of hand, I can redeem myself here.
I don’t know Itsuki, and we’re not close, but I’ll give you my cooperation to help out one of Nito’s old friends.
Shu: I’m not exactly asking that of you. I’m not in enough trouble to ask for your help.
Kuro: I’m not saying you are. Three heads are better than one, and the more people we have the better it’ll be, right?
Shu: Hmph. Without even studying, you can't help but come up with a lot of idioms related to Buddhism. I wonder who’s influence that is.
In any case, in accordance with my grandfather's unreasonable demand, I have decided to plan an “amazing funeral”.
Kuro: Hmm. When my mom died, it was a modest funeral with just relatives, but I guess rich people are flashy with what they do.
Shu: Ah… My only regret on the day of the ceremony is that I wasn’t able to burn incense or the like, because it was just family.
Even though your mother took such great care of me, it seems I was ungrateful until the very end.
Kuro: Haha. My mom wouldn’t think something like that. She understood you well— Itsuki.
Shu: ………
Kuro: …Sorry, I made the mood kinda weird, huh.
Shu: No. We should have faced this with a modest expression like this originally, this is a funeral service by nature.
It’s much more strange for my grandfather to make everything a fuss.
Kuro: Your grandpa has been strange since the beginning.
From what I know, your grandpa is a decent human being.  He was a creditable guy that you could respect.
He seemed like the kinda guy who would scold me until it got dark for doing stupid things when I was a stupid kid, even though it had nothing to do with him.
He would even shed tears… Even now, every time I feel like I’m going on the wrong path, I can hear your grandpa’s angry voice.
Shu: I suppose… My grandfather became angrier as the years passed, but he is a great person who I can respect, who would never do anything to violate humanity.
However, I have discovered that this same grandfather suddenly has an illegitimate child.
Because of this, it seems my home has been turned upside down with the uproar.
Nazuna: It’s a bit tactless, but, isn’t it kinda far-fetched to suddenly discover an illegitimate child just as there’s talk of an inheritance. It’s like a drama.
Kuro: Is that really true? Did someone make that up? Isn’t it just one of your grandpa’s jokes?
Shu: The authenticity is uncertain, for the time being.
After saying what he wanted to say and causing a disturbance for everyone, he was transferred to hospital once again and allowed no visitors.
We can’t get confirmation from the person himself. The hospital is a strange little world, the opinion of the family is prioritised less than that of the doctors.
If the doctor says no visitors, not even the family can open the door.*
*Shu refers to the legend of Awano-Ito here.
Mika: I thought that was normal but… It’s actually pretty shady.
‘Till now, I ain’t even heard rumours about no illegitimate child.
Shu: Yes. My grandfather is famous for being a devoted husband through and through, it’s common knowledge that my late grandmother is the woman he loved his whole life.
There should be no such illegitimate child.
Nazuna: Isn’t this illegitimate child called Rafaello? What does Rafaello have to say?
Kuro: Who exactly is that guy? Isn’t that a foreign name?
Shu: I think it may be a false name. He claims to be hiding his identity for some reason, but there’s nothing more suspicious than that.
My parents and such are all visiting government offices to confirm the facts. His true identity is still unconfirmed as of now.
Mika: Even in the guest room in Oshisan’s house, I just shut up right after sayin’ ma formalities.
Kuro: You said he spoke to you through a doll that looked just like Mademoiselle, right.
The doll’s origin is unknown, so maybe he put a communication device in it?
Shu:  It seems so. I don’t want to disassemble this beautiful doll, so I haven’t checked its contents.
In case of emergency, it may be necessary to ask someone with knowledge of machines to perform a scientific analysis… However, the situation is not yet that dire.
Kuro: Well, right now it all feels like some kinda joke that your grandpa made up, including that Rafaello guy.
Shu: If that is the case, even if I were to seriously consult the police, they would look at me like an idiot.
It’s not good to make a big deal out of it, because you’ll only be broadcasting your shame to the whole world.
Good grief. It’s a hundred times better than him actually dying, but it’s causing trouble for my grandfather too.

A Premature Burial Episode 7
A Premature Burial
Episode 7
Season: Winter
Characters: Mika, Shu
Tumblr media
Mika: Even if yer tellin’ me to do my best… Wouldn't it be better if I could give him a luxurious funeral?
Shu: My grandfather’s request is plain and simple.
First, each family member is going to submit their “best funeral plan” one by one.
My grandfather will then choose the most extravagant funeral among them, and he will perform the chosen living funeral.
That’s all there is to it, so to speak.
Although it's extremely impudent. It seems designing and selecting outfits appropriate to the project is no different to the work that we often do.
Mika: Haha, that’s why it’s a “funeral contest”…?
Shu: Yes. It's a general assembly by my grandfather, for my grandfather, to think about his own funeral.
I suppose it's just like my grandfather to make everything a fuss.
Honestly, a funeral should be conducted solemnly, not turned into an event that one looks forward to.
By the way, those who proposed my grandfather's chosen funeral, in other words the contest winners, will receive a generous reward.
In his own words, it will be the largest amount ever paid.
Because this is his final play, all of the remaining selections will be performed on a grand scale.
Mika: Is it really okay to decide on who gets the inheritance like that?
Shu: That's exactly what one would expect from my grandfather's insight. Most of the spoils have already been distributed among the family members during the past games.
It's hard to express dissatisfaction if it's a win-win situation.
And under the guise of a joke, my grandfather distributed his own enormous inheritance while he was still living.
Fairly, equally and appropriately.
Mika: Haha... I can't really think of anythin' to say but, he's an important guy ain't he.
Shu: Yes, well, he is a great person whom I respect very much.
In any case. Although it's said the performances will be grand scale, if you look at the overall perspective— That's just a small bonus.
That’s not to say it’d be a problem if we weren’t to get it. I want it because it’s a big deal.
Even though I’m shunned among my relatives for being unusual, I’m proud to be the one that understands my grandfather the most, who is similarly non-conformist.
No. I, Shu Itsuki, am the most suitable to be my grandfather's successor.
I want to be the one to receive my grandfather’s final gift.
Mika: I see. Ya don’t gotta worry.
‘Course, I’ll cooperate an’ give it my all too. Although it’s obvious, I ain’t never planned a funeral on my own before—
Is it really okay if I don’t know what I’m doin’? It ain’t really the same as our usual stage plannin’ is it?
Shu: No, but the thought process is the same as usual. Think about it that way, we are planning a stage for my grandfather's funeral service.
The leading part of that performance is my deceased grandfather. The audience that gathers will be everyone involved who wishes to have their final interaction with the lead actor, in other words mourners.
Even though this is an extremely private matter. It’s no different to the structure of being an idol, and the fans that gather for them.
Mika: I see… ‘Course, since it’s a funeral it’d be better not to have stuff like flashy smoke-burnin' or spotlights.
Shu: You would think. My grandfather likes flashy things… Ultimately it's my grandfather that chooses, therefore it’s a must to analyse his preferences and make calculations.
Mika: No matter what ya say I still don't know yer grandfather very well.
Shu: That's right. You need to start researching from the beginning in order to understand the organiser's preferences.
It's an unfamiliar behaviour to me, who is always imposing my own preferences and my own circle.
You're always getting frivolous work, so you should be accustomed to it.
Please teach me how these things are usually done.
Mika: Ah, okay. I see, so that's why Oshisan asked fer my cooperation.
Shu: Of course, I have faith in your craft and sense after all. Don’t misunderstand, you’re no longer a marionette— You’re an artist and my equal.
Working together as a group as always, let’s create the best funeral.
Mika: Yeah. It really does feel like an unreasonable demand huh, ain’t there limits whether it’s art or a funeral?
Shu: That’s right. Moreover, there are a few troublesome circumstances involved with this project.
Because of that, discussions within the family became complicated, and it took me some time to return home to you.
Mika: Troublesome circumstances…?
???: “—I should explain from here on out.”
Mika: Nnaaah!? Huh, what? Mado-nee— That ain’t right, the Mado-nee look alike spoke!?
Shu: Perhaps I should introduce you. I’m yet to comprehend it myself.
The mysterious person talking through this adorable doll claims to be my grandfather’s illegitimate child.
Mika: Illegitimate child!?
Shu: I suppose to me, he’s my uncle. I’m not sure if it’s his real name or not but he calls himself Rafaello.
Rafaello: “Fufu. Nice to meet you, I’m Shu’s uncle, Rafaello.”
Mika: Eeeh…!?

A Premature Burial Episode 6
A Premature Burial
Episode 6
Season: Winter
Characters: Mika, Shu
Tumblr media
(A few minutes later. Itsuki family villa guest room.)
Shu: First, I’m going to start by telling you what you’re probably curious about… It was a lie that my grandfather had died.
Mika: I-It was just a lie? That’s a relief…♪
Shu: There’s no relief about it. I’d like my grandfather to refrain from celebrating a little, because he’s so old it would be no surprise if he were to die peacefully.
Mika: It seems kinda fun to have such a playful grandfather.
Shu: Other people may think that… In reality it causes problems every time he stages his own death and summons all of his relatives.
Each time, we’re presented with unreasonable demands.
Mika: K-Kinda like princess Kaguya, huh.
Shu: It’s nothing as charming as that…
Shu: Though, our unreasonable demand this time is much better. Last time, he asked us upon a deserted island and we had to go on a treasure hunt while solving mysteries.
Mika: No, but that really does sound like fun.
Shu: Every time, I get to play games that old people have come up with, and I have a good time. It’s a vulgar expression, but I’m tired of being manipulated by stupid old people.
Mika: (Ahaha. The fact that yer usin’ that strange broken expression means that Oshisan is real relieved.)
Shu: What’s that face for?
In any case— It’s just a game held on my grandfather’s whim, but because it’s a game, there will be a “prize” involved.
Each time, the prize winner is given a part of the inheritance that my grandfather, who was a good businessman, has earned and saved through hard work.
That’s a considerable amount of money, and to my relatives who are struggling with life’s hardships, it seems they’re grateful for the event.
As a first year, when Valkyrie was just Nito and I, I used the funds I earned from that to carry out our activities.
No, if it wasn’t for that I would’ve soon become bankrupt.
Mika: That’s ‘cause Oshisan is a reckless spender… I see, I was wonderin’ what ya were doin’ before ya started makin’ money doin’ part time jobs at school.
Shu: Rather, you could say that my money sense was a little off because I was getting a large amount of initial capital.
I suppose I assumed I would have money no matter how much I used it.
Mika: Nnah~ I thought it was just because Oshisan is the young master of a rich family.
Shu: That too. In any case— I’m aiming to win this time, no matter how much money is at stake, it’s not a problem.
Even though the rewards from “SS” have enriched our pockets, our stages are becoming more and more lavish every year. Regardless of how much money we have, it’s not enough.
If you try to ignore ES’s wishes and get away with it… You’ll be told that you have to provide all the necessary funds yourself.
Mika: All ya gotta do is listen to what ES says. I don’t think it’ll solve everythin’ but— That’s what Valkyrie’s all about.
Shu: That’s right. Well, the main issue at hand is that, in order to gain victory in my grandfather’s game this time around, I want to ask for your support.
Mika: Of course ya would, I’ll do anythin’ for Oshisan.
I wonder if I can be useful… Didn’t Nazuna-nii help ya win last time?
Compared t’ Nazuna-nii, I’m thick-skulled and dumb.
Shu: It seems you’re overestimating Nito. Of course, that boy was my masterpiece at the time, both cute and precious.
Even compared to him then, I don’t think you’re inferior at all by any means.
No— Dolls and humans are not something that should be compared in the first place.
Even if we gather the best of human science, we still cannot create the perfect human being. And no matter how good a doll is, it’s still no match for a human. But that’s just a generalisation.
And you have become human, have you not? Have some self confidence, Kagehira.
Mika: Okay… Sorry I said somethin’ so spineless, Oshisan.
I’ll do my best. I’ll work hard in my own way.
Shu: Good boy. And naturally, I already have a good chance of winning, which is why I’m shamelessly involving you in this talk of family matters.
This time, what my grandfather is proposing and hosting should be called a “funeral contest”.
Mika: Nnah…? What’s that? A word ya don’t know?
Shu: I know there is a culture of performing a funeral for someone while they are still living.
The idea is to complete the funeral, inheritance, and other matters that will be necessary after you die— before you actually die.
It seems like my grandfather would like to have a funeral like that while he is still alive.
If you die, of course you will never be able to move again. The funeral will be conducted by the bereaved family.
I think it’s a positive attitude, because it will save a lot of hassle.
And such, even though it can’t be praised honestly…
My grandfather must be feeling weak as he faces death, as he says this will be his final play.
That’s why I’m told to do my best, without cutting corners.

A Premature Burial Episode 5
A Premature Burial
Episode 5
Season: Winter
Characters: Mika, Shu
Tumblr media
(Several hours later. Itsuki family villa storage room)
Mika: Snore, snore…♪
(…Nnah? Uh~ oh, I fell asleep!)
(I’m all jet lagged from goin’ between France and Japan… It’s weirdly dark n’ quiet in here so I ended up fallin’ asleep.)
(Umm, ah, how long has it been already? After all, I gotta have a bit more restraint since they ain’t my relatives.)
(I wonder if Oshisan’s okay all on his own.)
(Actually, I’m just a plain ol’ freeloader, I had no right to barge in on family matters…)
(I feel a lil’ left out.)
(Oh well, I ain’t exactly Oshisan’s family.)
(………)
(…Ah, I jus’ got a message from Nazuna-nii askin’ why I ain’t replied. There’s nothin’ to worry ‘bout.)
(I’ll reply with “I’m okay~ I’m a ‘lil jet lagged so I was sleepin’.”)
(“I think Oshisan’s just talkin’ to his family ‘bout what’s actually happened to his grandfather.”)
(“From what Oshisan said, it doesn’t seem like his grandfather has passed away or anythin’ real serious like that.”)
(“It was just a so-called ruse or somethin’.”)
(“But, considering Oshisan comin’ home late, I wonder if they’re arguin’ about somethin’? I’m kinda worried…” If I put somethin’ like that I might make Nazuna-nii worried.)
(“Everythin’s fine over here, so ya don’t gotta worry.” —There♪)
(“Thanks fer being considerate. Even though Nazuna-nii and I ain’t that close anymore.”)
(—Nazuna-nii might get all depressed if I start sayin’ stuff like that an’ actin’ like a stranger.)
(Nnah~… No matter how long it takes, I’ll never get used to it, I’m so bad at it it’s like a normal conversation.)
(Oh well, send…♪)
(…I ran outta stuff to do.)
(Oshisan told me I could kill some time by playin’ with the stuff in here…)
(What room is this, a storage room? Didn’t Oshisan say somethin’ like he used to play in this room as if it were his own when he was a kid?)
(Wasn’t it originally built for Oshisan’s drunken grandfather to dump all the junk he’d found somewhere or somethin’.  Actually, there’s a lotta weird stuff in here.)
(I also got a habit of collectin’ junk, so I feel kinda close to his grandfather…)
(That’s probably why Oshisan told me to wait here.)
(Hehe. Will ya let me worship yer collection, my “kindred spirit”?)
(Ahaha. It’s all complete garbage… I heard that some people sell off their stuff for money at the antique market.)
(Hm? What’s this, a book with a lock on it? It’s a diary, right?)
(That’s a weird dial-style lock… It’s engraved with the alphabet instead of numbers. Is it the kind that opens if ya put in a specific word?)
(I gotta solve the puzzle. How fun. It’ll kill some time, so I’ll try solvin’ it.)
(‘Course I know it’s wrong to look at another person’s diary, so if I can solve it I ain’t gonna look inside… Umm, ain’t there a hint somewhere.)
(Hm~…There ain’t anythin’ written on the front cover.)
(Ah. But there’s a book here with the same binding as the diary.)
(What is this, there’s somethin’ like a title engraved here— “The Taming of the Shrew”?)
(Hm~? Is the content of this “Taming of the Shrew” a hint to unlock it?)
(I’m really regrettin’ my lack of education, I don’t get it at all?)
Tumblr media
Shu: —What are you rattling around with?
Mika: Nnaah!?
Y-y-ya scared me! Don’t speak so suddenly from behind me, I thought my heart was gonna come flyin’ right outta my mouth!
Shu: Hmph. If you don’t want to lose your internal organs then sew your mouth closed.
Aside from that, Kagehira, it’s become quite the hassle… Do you mind if I lend your strength?
Mika: Nnah? Of course! I’ll help Oshisan out anytime~♪
Huh? I just noticed now but, Oshisan, yer holding Mado-nee?
When ya return home in a hurry like this time, it’d be terrible if she got cracked or something, so don’t ya usually put her away carefully?
Shu: Hmph. I thought you had grown, but you still lack aesthetic sense.
This isn’t Mademoiselle. But they are very similar in appearance.
I have some things I would like to discuss with you, so let’s move to another place. It’s dusty in here and I can’t stand it.
It reminds me of my stupidity and helplessness as a child.
Mika: ………

A Premature Burial Episode 4
A Premature Burial
Episode 4
Season: Winter
Characters: Kuro, Nazuna, Mika, Shu
Tumblr media
Shu: However, if you use your brain, you should be able to speculate for yourself.
This is simply a villa, and the Itsuki family's main residence is in Kansai. That’s why I go back to the “countryside” often during new year’s and such.
Because of the trouble I had in the surrounding area, I met you.
Mika: Nnah, I always wondered what Oshisan was doin’ in my hometown… Huh, but when ya ran away from home with Ryu-kun-san ya didn’t say anythin’?
Shu: I suppose it was around that destination. At the time, my world was extremely narrow, I knew practically nothing of the region.
Well, after all, I coludn’t get anywhere with my child’s feet, and my little childhood adventure came to an end with no accomplishments—
Mika: That’s where I got t’ meet ya~? Besides, Oshisan can go wherever now, right?
Shu: I wonder. Even if I’m able to discuss art in a foreign language with westerners in Paris, my flesh and blood are still held captive by this suffocating building.
That’s the feeling I have. Humans can simply never be free from their bonds.
Things will always come along to firmly restrict us. Like a marionette with tangled strings.
Mika: Oshisan…
Shu: Ah, what a strange thing to say. I don’t think we should be standing around talking by the eaves, shall we go in?
While we’re at it, answer me this first, the reason I brought you here is because I don’t want to meet with my family alone. Do I need any other reason?
Mika: But, yer family ain’t that scary.
Shu: They aren’t particularly scary, but we don’t have a good relationship. The hierarchy that has been instinctively ingrained into me since childhood is certainly not something that can be ignored.
On that point, if you’re here my family more or less have to keep up their appearance, thus they will go easy on us and I’ll be spared. They too have somewhat taken a liking to you.
Mika: Even though the first time I came here I completely ignored ‘em… I guess I was just real confused and surprised that Oshisan took me in so suddenly.
But I feel like it took some time fer me to open up. If we were gonna live together under one roof, I should express my feelin’s normally.
Aha. first the orphanage, then Oshisan’s house, now Starmony Hall… If I really think about it, I’ve always lived with other people.
Shu: If you’re not happy with that then find a family that you truly wish to live with from now on.
You have hands and feet for that. You have a free soul that is bound by no one. Neither god nor person can stop you from doing that.
Tumblr media
Nazuna: Hell~o, Kagehira?
Hmm. You’ve arrived at Itsuki’s house and dropped off your luggage so you’re taking a little break?
So you thought it’d get busy in the morning, and had an early lunch so you could call at noon.
Since Itsuki hurriedly booked a flight and arrived home late, you waited to join him…
Yeah. He didn’t plan on coming home as normal, so he arrived a little later than you.
Hm? It’s lunchtime for me, so I’m just eating lunch as normal?
Yeah… Kuro-chin thinks he can persuade me, he’s using the excuse that he “made too much” to serve me his home cooking…
Kuro: I’m not giving up, Nito.
Nazuna: Hm~… I’ll introduce you to Tomo-chin, I don’t think he’ll resist since he’s always made to wear girls' clothes.
Kuro: I think Nito is a better fit.
Nazuna: I’d rather hear you say that in a completely different situation too… Well, if I’m substituting for your little sister I guess it’s a little different to crossing.
No, whether I like it or not, isn’t it just regular old crossdressing? I don’t get anything out of it?
Kuro: It’s okay. Have some self confidence, Nito, you’re definitely cuter than any other girls.
Nazuna: I’m not happy… You’re so stubborn. That’s exactly what I’d expect from Itsuki’s childhood friend— You’re really similar.
Whatever. Anyway, Kagehira, not to be overbearing, but if anything happens get in touch right away.
Ra*bits have gotten into a strange situation where we’re slowly getting less work, so I have free time. Yeah, I’m not trying to interfere just for fun.
I know I’m not powerless… Maybe I just want to prove that I am able to help someone.
Kuro: You don’t need to prove it. At least right now, you’re helping me.
Nazuna: Oh~ Geez~ What a pain~ You were never the type to whine like this, Kuro-chin? Are you feeling alright?
Kuro: I’ve got a lot of stuff going on. I want to grow out of the dependable, understanding big brother type that doesn’t cause trouble for anyone.
No. I’m in the middle of searching for who I am and what I want to do.
Nazuna: Is that trying to ask your closest male friend to wear elementary school girl’s clothes…? If that’s your true nature you should hide it and not show it to anyone, it’s weird.
Kuro: That’s so mean, I asked you because you’re my closest friend.
Nazuna: Hmph. Oh well, it’s rude to be on my phone while I’m eating, so I’ll hang up. I don’t really understand— but do what you can.
It must be tough looking after Itsuki. But that’s what you want to do… Kagehira♪

A Premature Burial Episode 3
A Premature Burial
Episode 3
Season: Winter
Characters: Mika, Shu
Tumblr media
(Noon the next day. Itsuki family villa, where Shu Itsuki was born and raised.)
Shu: How nostalgic.
Hmph. It’s certainly an unbecoming building that’s only halfway western. The only redeeming quality is it makes that unpleasant Tenshouin jealous.
Mika: Nnah~ Oshisan really likes western stuff, don’t ya.
Shu: Japanese style is tasteful as Japanese. You can’t do anything in halves, and I think The Rokumeikan* is an embarrassment that will pertain in Japanese history.
*A two story building that was built in Tokyo 1883, and is a controversial symbol of westernisation in the Meiji period.
I suppose some art can only be born in such transitional chaos.
Oh well. You’re well acquainted with this house, so leave your belongings in the spare room you used before.
At the moment we aren’t housing any guests, so I believe that room has been left as it was.
While you’re doing that I'm going to give my regards to my parents.
Mika: Ah, let’s go together. It’s been a while since yer family looked after me, so I wanna greet ‘em properly too. I even brought gifts.
Shu: Hmph. You seem to have learned some manners.
Mika: I gotta lotta experience in society, ‘specially in the past year—-
By the way Oshisan, it might be too late to ask but, why am I stayin’ with yer parents?
Shu: It certainly is too late now. Also I’d like to clarify, this isn’t my parents home.
The Itsuki family main residence is in Kansai, this is simply the villa that was built in Tokyo by the previous head of the family several generations ago.
So to speak, this is just a foothold for advancing into Tokyo, a front-line base. Or a holiday house.
The main residence is a very old-fashioned Japanese style, and in terms of convenience it is inferior to modern architecture.
Out of concern for my grandfather, who was in poor health, this building was purposely designed to be barrier free, which is how my family came to move here.
Mika: Kinda like a nursin’ home fer yer grandfather.
Shu: Yes. That was before I was born, and even though this is the house I was born and raised in, I have no problem with that.
Though my grandfather worried those around him by saying he was going to die over and over, in the end he survived more than 10 years.
It was probably a ruse that my western-minded grandfather had created because he wanted to live in a European style house.
Mika: No way, that ain’t—
Shu: I hate that it’s possible, in my grandfather’s case.
You only saw him when we went to visit him together, therefore to you he was simply an emaciated sick man.
To the Itsuki family, my grandfather was always the eye of the storm.
A disaster of a man that would blow up on a whim and make a mess of everything.
When I was a child, time and time again my grandfather would cause trouble.
However, nobody could complain because my grandfather was hailed as the man who restored the Itsuki bloodline. Everyone is fed up.
Perhaps this time too is just another one of my grandfather's usual tantrums, considering the way Onii-sama spoke.
Mika: (Ah, just what ya’d expect from Oshisan. I’m glad~ It’s probably just like Ryu-kun-san and Nazuna-nii said.)
(Oshisan’s grandfather passin’ away was just a silly lie, a joke, he's probably full of life.)
(Oshisan seems real calm compared to what I heard from Ryu-kun-san…)
(That’s right, he ain’t a child that panics every time anythin’ happens anymore.)
Shu: …What is it? Stop looking at me with that unpleasant pitiful expression!
Mika: Nnah~ Sorry? What I’m sayin’ is, when I was a freeloader I didn’t ask ya anythin’ outta consideration—-
So this time, I’m happy I get to hear about yer home life♪
Shu: Hmph. I wouldn’t mind even if you asked me tactlessly. You’re already family in more ways than one.
Well, if you had asked me something at the time I was unstable, I suppose I would only have fallen irrationally angry.

A Premature Burial Episode 2
A Premature Burial
Episode 2
Season: Winter
Characters: Kuro, Nazuna, Mika, Shu
Tumblr media
Nazuna: Hm~? Speaking of which, Kagehira, I heard Itsuki called you over to his boarding house for something?
Has he done something horrible to you again? That guy~ If it’s really bad I’ll be filing a complaint, alright?
Mika: Nnah, Nazuna-nii—
Nazuna-nii~! W-W-W-What should I do? I, I, I dunno what to do anymore…!
Nazuna: Uhya? Don’t come flying over here, you’ve gotten a lot heavier lately!
Mika: Nnah~ Nnaaah~… But, I, I—
Nazuna: Don’t wail like a cat… There there~ What’s really the matter? You’re graduating soon aren’t you, you’re a big boy now~?
Mika: Achoo! But, Nazuna-nii~? This is real serious, it’s Oshisan’s grandad—
Kuro: Hmm? What happened to his pops? I heard that he’s been in bad shape and can’t get out of bed since last winter?
Mika: Ryu-kun-san ain’t heard anythin’? Ah, yer real distant now ain’t ya?
Um. I ain’t checked the facts yet but… Oshisan’s grandad has passed away.
Kuro: Aah?
Mika: It ain’t really my business, but he took care of me when I lived there too!
That’s why I hurried back fer the— f-funeral? To prepare fer it…!
Kuro: Ah~… Again?
Mika: Nnah? Whaddya mean a-again?
Kurou: No, I think it’s serious this time… But I can’t say anything that’s too careless.
All I know is that Itsuki’s pops has died— This is the 17th time.
Mika: Nnah…?
Nazuna: Ah~ It happened once when “Valkyrie” was just Itsuki and I as well.
I wasn’t well acquainted with Itsuki’s Grandad but from what I’d heard, he was a really mischievous guy. Apparently he pretended to die over and over again.
Mika: P-Pretended to die…? Eh…? Yer kiddin, why’d he do somethin’ like that?
Nazuna: Well… At least when I knew them, Itsuki’s family had already gotten used to it.
It seems like they were pretty tired of his antics. But Itsuki loved his grandad so much that he was the only one that would panic.
Kuro: That’s right~… I felt so sorry for him at first, being a kid I was considerate and consoled him with cheap sweets and stuff.
By the 5th time it started being a pain… When I heard it I would say stuff like “Really? How sad”.
Mika: Ehhh…?
Kuro: But if it’s serious this time, I won’t make any jokes, it’s better not to overthink it—Kagehira.
Itsuki too. The person he loves the most in the world is his pops, but he’s also the type of person to get tired in serious relationships.
Mika: …
Shu: (Yes. Well then, I’ll be on my way.)
(Yes. I understand that but—- just in case— Should something happen. It’s true that my grandfather is very old, and he has been in poor health since last winter.)
(That attention seeking old man flailing around and pretending to be confused as he would… I’d prefer it were a jest as such.)
(I’m going to return home temporarily to find out the truth myself. Yes, it’s still very cold, so be cautious of your own health too, landlord.)
(Well then, I should be going.)
(… Yes? Hm? What do you think?)
(Perhaps Kagehira mailed it— Ah, it might have been mixed in with my business partner’s luggage.)
(Yes. I mailed the works I made while I was at it… It could have been confused with the works that were originally in  my atelier at the time.)
(Yes. I’ll have a look. Ah, no, it doesn’t belong to me.)
(Hmph. Originally my grandfather’s? In that case, instead of returning it here, if my grandfather really has passed away, perhaps it would be better to place it in front of his grave?)
(Hm, I should avoid that? It could start an argument? What could you possibly mean…?)
(I don’t quite understand, but I’ll comply. Yes. In that case, I really should be going.)
(…Good grief. My grandfather is known for his false alarms.)
(Such as the boy who cried wolf. However the last time I visited my grandfather, he was worn out, as though he were a completely different person—)
(This time, it’s possible…)
(How unpleasant. No matter how much time passes, I can’t get used to the thought of death.)
(If only everyone could become dolls.)
(Then I could display them forever in my undecaying kingdom.)
(………)

A Premature Burial Episode 1
A Premature Burial
Episode 1
Season: Winter
Characters: Kuro, Nazuna, Mika
Tumblr media
(The next day. Near the entrance to the residential area at Starmony Hall)
Nazuna: Absolutely not…
Kuro: Well how about this, can you just say yes anyways. I’ll bow my head and ask politely— No, aren’t we closer than that?
Nazuna: Yeah. Usually I’m happy to hear out whatever Kuro-chin has to say but no means no.
Kuro: Why? You’re not naive enough to be embarrassed about wearing eccentric costumes, are you, Nito?
Nazuna: That’s true, but…
Even though I’m an adult and starting to look like I'm turning 20, sometimes I look at myself in cute shorts and think ‘what am I doing’.
I can’t help it if that’s the kind of idol “Ra*bits” are, I agreed to that.
Kuro: Oh, in that case…♪
Nazuna: You’ve got it all wrong! What upsets me is having to wear women’s clothes made by my friend Kuro-chin!?
I said no! It makes me feel weird!
Kurou: I-It’s not weird! Don’t say things that ruin my reputation!
Why are you so reluctant about it? I’m only asking you to try on the costume I sewed for my little sister!
Nazuna: Are you saying you don’t understand why that’s unnerving to ask of a guy who’s the same age as you~!?
Isn’t your little sister still in elementary school or something? Sure, I’m known for being cute, but I’m a mature adult man you know~!?
Kurou: It’s fine! Nito can do it!
My sister is just like me, so she keeps getting taller and taller, and the costume might be too short, so Nito can wear it!
I believe in you! Nito!
Nazuna: I’d rather hear you say that in a completely different situation?!
Right! I’m done talking! I’m uncomfortable so I’m going back to my own room!
I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that as part of our friendship, so you should take a walk and clear your head too!
Kuro: Don’t say that, I’m begging you, Nito~...
I’ve noticed my sister is getting really fashion-conscious recently, but all the clothes and accessories she wants are stupidly expensive.
With our economic situation getting out of hand, I just thought I’d sew them myself. That way it’ll be cheaper.
But when it comes to clothes, you can’t tell if they're good or bad until you’re actually wearing them. So, please? You understand, don’t you Nito?
I’m begging you… I have no other choice, Nito.
I shouldn’t be saying this, but all of the ES idols are built well, with good proportions. Being so small makes you a valuable resource.
The world might be wide, but the only person I know that can fit into an elementary school girl’s clothes properly— is Nito.
Nazuna: Can’t you just buy a mannequin…?
Kuro: Oh? I haven’t seen you like this in a while, your eyes are glazed over like glass balls.
Nazuna: I didn’t want my eyes to glaze over again like when I acted like a doll for “Valkyrie” during such a stupid scenario but…
Mika: …!
Kuro: Oof? Hey, look forward when you’re walking. Are you hurt?
Mika: …
Kuro: Hey… Are you gonna bump into me without even saying hello? Did something happen, Kagehira?
Mika: Nnah? Ah, sorry Ryu-kun-san? My mind’s gone all blank…!
Kuro: What’s the matter… Are you in trouble? I’ll listen if you need to talk?
Mika: Nnah? No no, I can’t bring Ryu-kun-san into this—
Ah, but Ryu-kun-san is Ryu-kun-san, right?
Kuro: Ah? That’s what I was called as a kid, why are you using it now? Itsuki hasn’t called me that in a long time?
Mika: Oh yeah! Ryu-kun-san is Oshisan’s childhood friend? That’s why it’s Ryu-kun-san, right?
Kuro: I don’t see what you’re trying to say… Did something happen to Itsuki?
