You've probably seen this picture re-posted a million times, however, coming from someone with a ' visual spacial' disorder it couldn't be more true. I am a completely normal human being that can function with day to day tasks, however, I didn't  fit into the education curriculum , so they labeled me with a disorder when in fact I just learned a little differently to other children.

But you know what they say, the only power a label has is the power you give it.

Economics and marketing

Balancing ethics and remaining competitive can be difficult. If ethical marketing involves considering the needs and welfare of suppliers, employees and customers it could add to business costs. For example Fair trade products provide producers with a minimum price. When business costs increase profit margins reduce or the costs are passed onto customers through price increases.

Are businesses ethical? Or are they just complying to the governments regulations and procedures? Or are they just in fact complying with the social demand for more environmentally and ethical products?

You see, the soul goal of any business is to remain a business, so of course a company is going to change the ways of production to ensure they retain the customer base.

So the bigger question is: How many of you actually care?

The concept of an ethical consumer is a highly debatable topic. Do they actually exist? Of course when you ask someone they go  "Of course I am, I buy cage free eggs from the super market" whilst they casually wear a pair of trendy Nike shoes.

My point being, how educated are we really on such topics?  In an era of social movement and change very few people realize the impact they can have by simply purchasing the same product from an ethical company, yeah, I am not going to lie, it will be more expensive but in the end the product will usually be of better quality. Plus, you'll get that pleasant fuzzy feeling as you purchase something worthwhile. So to break it down, you can either purchase a pair of good quality shoes made in Australia that last you forever? Or a 10 pairs of cheap shitty shoes that will end up costing you the same amount? It's your choice my friends.
