Can we talk about this scene please?

This is the last panel of Yugami-kun manga and it's incredible how it could answer some questions just from itself.

1. Has Yuuji changed?

The quick answer? Yes and no. The long answer? Yuuji is a person who hardly need friends, so seeing him approaching Chihiro with the intention of spending time with her is already a miracle in itself. So yes, I'd say Yuuji has changed (a little). But he has always been a person who has clear goal in his mind; once he sets his mind onto something, he can't be stopped. That is something that has not and will not change.

2. How about Chihiro?

Chihiro is shown walking on her phone, meaning her careless habit still hasn't changed. But she has grown a lot: from a lonely girl who deeply craved for friends and had troubles keeping her shit together into an adult who could take care of herself better and became perfectly okay with solitude life. Chihiro walking alone in the night while carrying grocery is a prove of that.

3. How is their relationship in the future?

This panel shows everything: Yuuji will find ways to see her and Chihiro will undoubtedly bumped into him. No matter how far they're apart, no matter what their relationship is claimed to be, they will always find a way to be together again.

I love how Sakura only drew Yuuji's legs from closed-up lower angle, it shows his decisive steps effectively. And the small Chihiro from far away? It shows that she is his target. Both parties are thinking about how to see each other again.

The dark cloud effect on these panels is kinda unsettling, it's like it's there to show Shima having dark thoughts and emotions; though, I don't neccesarily think it's a bad thing; everyone can have dark thoughts and that's normal.

I'm just intrigued to learn what Shima might be feeling right here.

"I want to perform this role better than anyone else. I want to show everyone that no one knows this role better than I do. I want to show everyone that deep inside I am broken and lonely like this monster. I want people to wonder how do I get so good at this role that they would wonder if I experience the same thing. I want people to know I am not the perfect Shima Sousuke they knew. I want to scare them a little. I want them to think twice about me. I want them to take a glimpse of the real me."

... or at least this is how I read Shima; the reason why he wants to perform this role better than anyone else. Maybe I'm overreaching.

I think he started to think like this after the summer vacation, after Mitsumi inspired and encourage him to be himself, just the way he is. He always tried to show his good side to everyone, but thanks to Mitsumi and this new role, he probably wanted to go a little... rough? Messy? (there's gotta be a better word for that, ugh). To throw people off a little. Maybe also to test Mitsumi's words, that people won't instantly dislike you just because you show a weakness or two; though, I don't think he realized it yet.

It's kinda like a self projection. Shima resonates with the monster's struggle, I think performing this role is his new-found way to express himself, to learn to lay himself bare; which is great!

So far, Kanechika is responding positively to his acting. I wonder if his peers feel uncomfortable because they couldn't keep up with Shima, but judging by the looks of it, it doesn't seem like the theater club is reacting negatively to Shima's great acting. I think, partly because of that, Shima is able to enjoy his time in the theater club.

Funny enough, in the next panel, we're shown with this.

I know Ujie's words is from a completely different topic and just happen to fit Shima's narrative timely, but 🤣😭

Not only it implies it's a bare minimun of wanting to do your best, it also implies it's the bare minimum of showing your real self to people. Which... stings? because not everyone can do that.

More headcanon (lol): He used to be from lower class like Anya, clumsy, and had an awkward mouth like Damian. In short, he was rather inellegant himself. Lol.

No comment for the new SxF chapter. My head's too much of a mush. My DamiAnya hurt-comfort heart is in shambles, screaming for help (in a good way). I'm just gonna wait and read everyone's analyses who can write much better than I do 'cause this chapter render me speechless, man.

One thing I will say though.

What IF, one in a million chance, Damian believed Anya's confession. Maybe someday he will take her to Donovan/Melinda to make her find out if his dad/mom truly loves him or not?

Again, I'm not the most knowledgable person when it comes to mythologies n history n stuff, so I'm sorry if I couldn't give you any new input. But it's still so cool to know that Endo is probably incorperating stuffs about witches from his previous oneshot to SxF!

I read your post on Arnold & Aleister Crowley along with Covenia being the SxF equivalent of Romania. I looked up some Romanian folklore & found something called the Solomonari/Solomonars which are dragon-riding wizards said to control the weather. Not only that, but they're also stated to be red-headed. Aside from Handler, Anya is the only one we've seen with red (or in this case pink) hair.

Plus the name Covenia sounds pretty similar to "Coven" which is a group of witches & one of the names that people in Anya's past called her was a witch. Could Arnold be under the belief that Anya is a Solomonar (or in training) not just for her Classical Language skills but also for her hair color?

While I do think this is certainly a very interesting finding, I'm currently debating whether I should expand my "Covenia=irlRomania" theory or not. (maybe i shouldnt, cus im not a romanian)

Maybe because I just stumbled on florida.florian on Youtube — in which, he debunks plenty of Romanian misrepresentation in the media — that I realized, maybe this whole "Gypsies/Witchcraft's History in Romani" might be a sensitive topic afterall? Or not? Especially when we also know that Endo is using IRL cold war references for the cold war that happen in Spy x Family; combine the two topics together, and... yeah, it doesn't sit well with me.

I mean, The Solomonar idea itself is very interesting; I like how Anya being a solomonar would allign nicely with her red hair, her hair cones, and her classical language skill. (I know Anya's design is based off Endo's previous oneshot, but it's a story revolving around the age of witch hunt, so I guess it's not surprising he'd be knowledgable about witches?). I'm also very surprised with the word "Coven" (I've been wondering about it). But implying that Anya's heritage is the reason why she was taken to the facility to see if the folklore has scientific explanation to it so they can utilize it for cold war? It's not unheard of IRL, but it still doesn't sit right with me. Or maybe it's just me jumping into ideas where I shouldn't.

I was scrolling through Twitter/X, laughing and giggling at the cute DamiAnya and Loid tweets from the recent chapter 95, when I stumbled on a tweet about Arnold Crowley.

Btw, Arnold is one of the character I'm looking forwad meeting the most because he's the top scorer in the classical language test. His score must be 90 or above, which is kinda insane when we know classical language is a dead language and barely taught anymore. I previously made a theory that the reason why Anya is so good at classical language is because she came from Covenia, the equivalent of Romania irl; which language derived from Latin language. That's why I was intrigued with Arnold Crowley; I want to know how is he able to beat Anya's score. Like, did he come from the same place as Anya, or, does his family have a medical/researcher background; stuffs like that

Anyway, back to the tweet. Some people are weirded out with Arnold Crowley's hairstyle, which is not surprising, because me too.

I clicked the comments when I saw this.

What. The Fuck. Is That.

The hair/hat reference! The same last name!

Suddenly everything about Arnold clicked. Why I feel weirded out not just from his hairstyle, but also from his bow tie (which reminds me of a moth's wing pattern). Why his polite demeanor is lowkey making me uneasy. Why he is so interested to meet the runner-up of his strong subject. Why he is so good at classical language.

I was scared. I am scared.

But I was still excited to learn that Crowley was a real person, so I googled him just to make sure.

Oh FFUCK.

Dear God what did I discover.

Arnold Crowley or his parents might be based on Aleister Crowley.

Aleister Crowley is an occultist.

He practiced spells.

Spells often comes from Latin words.

He is also a poet.

A poet also often uses Latin language.

Do you see what I'm seeing here.

Summary:

Arnold Crowley or his parents might be an occultist or poet; that's how he's able to be excelled in classical language.

If Arnold's family is a poet, then thank God.

If Arnold's family is an occultist, I am really scared for Anya. What if he wants to learn if Anya is a fellow occultist like him. What if he wants to invite Anya to join his cult. What if he finds out about Anya's telepathic ability. What if he somehow trigger Anya's bad memories with his magic skills(?). I really want Anya to get tf away from him now.

Now this is interesting.

Some people say it's a reference to Harry Potter, so I wonder if some of it will turn out to be true. Especially the last two: "the cursed underground maze in section 4" and "the sealed chamber in the tower of wisdom." Sounds like hella suspicious places for a school filled with top political figures in the country. What if those are the places Donovan entered often?
