my biggest pet peeve wiht the english language is that you don’t have sin/sina

in swedish if u have two people who use the same pronoun u can always tell whos doing what bc its like ‘han tog sin väska’ (he took his[own] bag) and ‘han tog hans väska’ would be that he took the other persons bag

but in english its like if u have 2 ppl w/ the same pronoun:

“she took her bag” whose bag????WHose BAG was it her OWN bag or the other her’s bag??????????????

“he ate his donuts” were the donuts his own???? did he fucking eat someone elses donuts??? YIU DONT KNOW bc english is a bullshit language

I repeat DO NOT do this because it is piracy which is absolutely totally wrong!!!

Our therapist shared something today: at a DID conference she attended last year (at the Bowlby centre) they were told that it can take at least 7 years in therapy for DID clients to get to a point where they can start to tolerate trauma processing. It made some of us feel better about the speed of our progress so I just thought I'd share that in case it reassures anyone else.

Attention Plurals and Singlets with Plural Friends!

Do you ever talk on voice call or in person with other systems, people who know you're a system, or system friends?

I'm a system majoring in Linguistics at college, and for my graduation project I want to study the way system members may or may not speak differently from one another out loud. I want to hear from singlets. I want to hear from systems who don't make any deliberate effort to speak differently from each other. I want to hear from systems who work very hard to learn specific accents. I want to hear from systems who do a few things to sound different from each other but maybe not very many. I especially want to hear from anyone I may have left out in these examples.

I am, like, a long running proponent of the "eat something and you'll feel better" crowd and am often one of the first people to suggest "maybe it's time for a snack before I get whipped into a frenzy" but I really do resent how instantaneous it is. like it'll feel like I'm having my worst day in months and then I'll start eating and literally before I even finish I'm like oh yeah the world is beautiful

Reasons someone may not have replied that aren’t the bad reasons your brain suggests to you (they’re mad, stopped caring, you aren’t important, etc).

They’re asleep/resting.

They have no service.

They want to take time to form their reply.

They don’t have the energy to reply right now.

They’re working / don’t have access to their phone.

They accidentally opened the notification and meant to reply and got distracted (this doesn’t mean they don’t care either! I do this a lot and I love my loved ones dearly. My brain is just chaotic sometimes.)

They’re in a really bad place.

They’re in a situation where it’s rude to use their phone.

They really just want a break from talking to people.

They are enjoying a movie, game, activity, etc.

Something came up they had to deal with asap.

A lot of the time, to challenge irrational thoughts we need alternative explanations to combat them. Here are some for a situation when a loved one hasn’t replied to you. I encourage you to plan for other situations that come up for you as well.

Just had a dream that I poured a hot drink on the lap of some guy for saying something racist (helpfully censored by the dream). He lost his shit and was going to call the cops on me for assault, to which I said “Go ahead… I can escape from this world and from all consequence. I am beyond your retribution.” I then crossed my arms, ascended into the air, and woke myself up just as sirens blared nearby.
