Anidala Week 2018 | Day 5 - Time Travel AU

 I would like to personally thank Dave Filoni and his last season of SW Rebels, which gave me so many hints to create a time travel au.

When she escaped Malachor temple, Ahsoka learnt that there are other time portals scattered through the galaxy and yet she can only go back to the last time she saw Anakin, so she is unsure whether her words will affect him in any way, but she has to try. I know that this comic is anidala-centric only in the second part, but to create this story I needed many more characters. And, even if Ahsoka is the one who sets some things in motion, also in this AU Anakin is the Chosen One, he is the one who decides the fate of the galaxy – just like at the end of the OT.

What I like about this is that, for this AU to happen, the story of the first 6 movies must still necessarily happen the same way. Enjoy it!

The Palace Servants in the first year of Zuko's reign:

"Your Majesty, a motion has respectfully been put forth for you to employ the services of a royal food taster. We humbly ask that you consider it."

... the fifth year of his reign:

"Lord Zuko, the Imperial Firebenders can handle the assassins. Please stay out of this."

... and the 30th year of his reign:

"GET OFF THE ROOF, YOU FUCKING GREMLIN! YOU'RE ALMOST FIFTY!"

it just occurred to me that this is an Outfit that Belongs to Ford (presumably) and so i needed to draw him in this funky pineapple shirt and sunglasses.

bonus edit: au where ford forgets to do his laundry before sending the post card out and so he greets stanley wearing this.

If we get a scene where it's just Robin and Mike in a room where Robin is just chilling and Mike is his usual anxious self, and Robin looks over at him, stares at him for a few seconds, and just.. SQUINTS BECAUSE SHE KNOWSS, IT'S OVER

guys. we already sorta know that robin could have scenes with will and mike.

i know everyone is ready for will and robin being friends and bonding over being some of the only queer kids in town.

but. i offer you: mike and robin

mike is a fucking mess trying to work through his feelings for will and el, and he’s very obviously struggling but no one knows why. until robin sets eyes on him, and she knows immediately. she sees the conflict in his eyes and recognizes it. as something she also went through years before, trying to figure out how to accept herself.

robin and will have that connection where they know and see each other, but robin and mike, well, there’s so much to work on there.

she tries getting closer to him but, in classic mike fashion, he lashes out like a scared cat and pushes her away. until she says something that hits a little too close to home, and he just breaks apart. at the thought of being found out, of being truly seen under the layers of fear and anxiety he hides behind to protect himself.

robin helping mike realize that there’s nothing wrong with how he feels, he’s not alone, and he’s always got someone to turn to for advice. it would be her steve and dustin moment.

(not to say that she couldn’t have that with will too, it’s just that will has someone who knows and reassures him that he’s loved regardless (jonathan) and mike doesn’t. (nancy could fill this role but she wouldn’t get it to the degree that robin does, as a lesbian))

Did some people not watch the same show?? The end of the first episode literally has him saying "I think I finally figured out what these powers are for" and another episode where everyone is after him, Phantom, but he still chooses to be the hero, AS PHANTOM, because "who else is gonna do it?".

Like this boy is so pure and kind and just wants to get good grades and be an astronaut and he loves his parents and hates making them upset when he can't do his chores or get a good grade on a test but he also wants to be a superhero because it's the right thing to do and others get hurt by these ghosts that rampage the city everyday. Poor guy is just a kid who got too much responsibility because of an accident in his parent's basement and he's just trying to do his part

I feel like people forget that Danny isn't actually feral. Like, I love feral Danny, but, even at the height of his "feralness", his room is spotless, he's sad when he can't study, and he cleans to relieve anxiety (though yes, only when he's alone). He only started not doing his chores, getting bad grades, and missing classes when he stopped having time for it and he hates it! He wants to be a good boy! AND! He loves being a hero and helping people, and I'm tired of people being like "no, actually he hates being a hero and wouldn't do it if he wasn't forced to". No! You are wrong! Danny Fenton loves helping people and being a hero. (I thought we all agreed that Phantom Planet was Out of Character!) He's not a dirty little gremlin child. He's a responsible, well organized teen, and tries to still be that even when he's at the end of his rope and stressed to hell and back.

William Byers? YEARNING? It's more likely than you think.

To all Gravity Falls fans/enthusiasts:

When people "key-smash" (ex: AKSKDHFHSL) to express their emotions on social media, do you try to decipher it with all the different types of ciphers from the show to see if it actually means something?

Follow up question:

Have you ever seen a key-smash from someone who obviously wasn't a Gravity Falls fan, but their key-smash turned out to actually be a hidden message?

Have you ever tried to decipher a key-smash and it actually means something? If so, what was it? (I mean like, anyone besides Alex Hirsch)

I'm one of those people who think Shermie is the oldest and since many stories feature Shermie joining the war when Stan was kicked out, I decided to reference that here too.

we've got classic timestuck and all the variations thereof: at least one of the kid twins goes back in time to the 80s and helps the grunkle twins (or, in relativity AUs, 80s!dipper and mabel)

i've seen an AU where mullet stan gets dropped in the present day (i can't get the app to work with me here but just find the "silas oakley" tag on this person's tumblr wksnskdjskdn) Yeah so this tumblr user either changed URLs or deactivated :(

i've read a fic where child!ford finds a time tape and visits the present day

i've seen a comic where the teenaged stan twins show up post-show

researcher ford happens across a time tape or something and winds up in the future. for the sake of having a coherent thought, we'll say he shows up mid-show, pre-NWHS. he gets a crash-course in "Debunking His Own Arrogance 101" and gets a look at what the future actually holds for him, which includes but is not limited to:

old man stanley being very emotional over ford's appearance

no future ford?

two children??

why do the kids have such visceral hatred and terror of bill???

why is stanley using stanford's name and why do the children not know about stanley's existence as stanford's brother????

tl:dr i am once again thinking "life smacks some sense into ford" thoughts

an add-on to the au sleepsmcartist sent in: the longer bill waits the more he actually starts to, ugh, CARE about the pines so once he has their complete trust he's realized he dun goofed up because he actually loves them at that point

If Bill did remember and just forced himself to continue the play (cause he’s great at acting and all that) and not only does he actually start to get attached to the two after the fact BUT he also remembers them helping him when he first came back without his memory despite all the horrible things he’d done.

 He’d have to make QUITE the decision there! World domination or a couple of twins that treat him like family? hmmmm…
