(Pin post!)
Intro post / ENG info / JP info
Thank you to Tessie for help with Japanese translations!
This blog will generally focus on lesser known Zexal material and scans etc that aren't already readily available (at least for the time being!)
Please utilize the following tags to browse:
(Tumblr is not letting me edit tags on this blog currently so a lot of these are gonna be relatively useless until I can get that sorted out, please forgive me!)
YZA animation material
YZA animator art
YZA official art (will overlap with things like CD scans)
YZA magazine scans
YZA pamphlet scans
YZA CD scans
YZA merch (scans and trivia on more obscure Zexal merch)
YZA misc (fun trivia, sculptures etc)
YZA mod talks (ask/answers/updates/general non archive related stuff. Feel free to filter this tag)
(more to be added as they come)
Feel free to also search by characters! I will tag most posts with at least the featured characters' full Japanese names
The Zexal animation material / reference sheet mega-archive
Other links of interest (not associated with this blog):

Yu-Gi-Oh! 20th anniversary hand fan ft. Kaito Tenjo and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. Kaito illustrated by Shuji Maruyama, unclear if the Galaxy-Eyes is as well
The Kaito art is also used as a sprite in Duel Terminal, though appears to be a drawn over version of Maruyama's original illustration
(There is a 20th anniversary hand fan for Yuma as well but I don't have it to scan)

I've also not been able to implement the tagging system for better browsing because I cant edit tags haha. It's always something with this specific blog

The Zexal animation material mega-archive is now available! Click HERE to download it (8.48GB) or click HERE to browse the files on Google Drive
This is a collection of every sheet I've been able to scour from the Internet or purchase and scan in myself for the time being. Huge thanks to Tessie for helping me name and figure out a lot of the sheets! More trivial info under cut
In case it needs to be said, there is no need to credit me if you use any of these sheets for anything - they're not mine! I'm just an animation fanatic doing a little archival! (And a lot of these are scanned by people other than me anyway!)
This collection includes every sheet that features anything notable. A lot of sheets look very similar (for example, shading guides are just base character sheets with added shading) but for archival purposes they're still included, even if they're largely the same. Every reference sheet is named for easy browsing, but if I've made a mistake anywhere, please let me know!
I'll still try and collect more sheets as I keep checking if any go up for sale on sites like Mercari, but I offer no guarantee that I'll have many more scans to offer anytime soon (it is costly!)

From @anthyvarietyhour:
"When Nicktoons was airing Yugioh Zexal and other anime (Danball Senki, Digimon, etc), they had a page on their website where they wrote character bios, had games, and chatrooms. These pages are obviously gone, and from captures I could find on the Internet Archive, the games and chatrooms don't appear to be functional anymore.
However, what IS available are the character bios! I'm unsure if there are any for Zexal II, these are just what I found while looking.
Something funny to note is that Nicktoons must have really liked Zexal/really wanted to market it, because this has more profiles than any of the other series. Lines up with how often I remember seeing ads for it."
Thank you very much for the submission and trivia!

are you taking submissions for content posted here? Just wanna know, I wanted to send in smth
Yes absolutely! There's things I don't post like more easily available merch ads and the like (it's hard to generalize), but there's no harm in submitting stuff and it's very much appreciated regardless!

Near life-size No. 39 Hope (Utopia) statue which was displayed in the 2012 Jump Fiesta, the 2012 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship in Japan and the 2013 Toyfair in America. It was built to be lightweight and capable of disassembly so it was not only easy to transport but could also be changed into a second pose (Which, I have to assume, just meant rotating the arms as seen in the available photos)
