The Implementation

My client, in my opinion, is going to encounter certain problems, and in order to overcome these challenges, they need do an in-depth evaluation of their present abilities and assets, set reasonable targets, and develop a well-organized execution plan.  The following are some of the difficulties that my client may experience. 

Since making investments in social networking management instruments and other online promotional resources is a new area for the organization, they may require human resources or individuals who are skilled at managing these tools and keeping up with new technologies. 

Adopting new technology will be difficult for them if they are not acclimated to it. It may be challenging to ensure adequate uptake and integration of these solutions inside their existing systems. 

Community engagement may be difficult to establish at first because establishing and maintaining community partnerships can be difficult, especially if my client is new to the area or lacks previous connections. It takes time and effort to build true ties with local groups and residents.

It is also critical to follow relevant community norms and regulations and to keep up with them on a regular basis.  Depending on the region, certain marketing efforts or sustainable practices may be subject to additional restrictions or licenses. Complying with local rules might take time and may necessitate additional resources.

There are several significant possible problems or controversies that could have an impact on us on social media, such as the possibility that not everyone will support our cause and comprehend our demands. There may also be some who oppose it and want to disparage us. 

Effective Content Development and Sharing

After completing Hootsuite/Podium modules 3 and 4, I gained a grasp of how effective content is created and delivered, as well as why it is so critical. To begin with, these modules provide organizations with insights into developing great content that is acceptable, eye-catching, instructive, appealing, and optimizing. Understanding their goal and mission, identifying their target demographic, developing meaningful and intriguing content, and keeping uniformity across mediums are all necessary for effective content development. Organizations can improve their online presence and develop deeper ties with their followers by following these ideas. A make-up brand, for example, might post make-up videos and suggestions, new goods and deals, answer customer questions, and showcase their new storefronts and online portals. 

Content principles are a set of shared guidelines for how your organization tackles content and collaboration. Social organizations stress customer-centricity by actively listening to consumer feedback and participating in social media conversations. This strategy allows people to accomplish their best work since it allows you to focus on the correct things, make the right judgments, and collaborate. Furthermore, embracing transparency and cooperation inside the business promotes a variety of perspectives in content ideation and creation, boosting originality and relevance. As a result, the principles of effective content generation and distribution are inextricably linked with a social organization. 

ONLINE COMMUNITIES

After reading chapters 4 and 5 of the Social Organization, I was able to understand the author's content regarding the significance of defining an upfront goal and being for a virtual community that aims to spread its objective and message through the social media platform appropriately and also be helpful to those who find it difficult to raise their voices as they want to be heard. This concept intrigued me as being crucial since having a clearly defined goal enables community members to connect with a feeling of shared purpose. For instance, our Muscat Dog Adoption page on Instagram is a group of locals who live in Muscat and are concerned about the well-being of animals. The page provides extensive information on caring for animals through animal rescue, adoption, shelter care, charitable work, and donations. I've personally donated to help dogs be adopted while serving on the volunteer team for dogs once. It's gratifying to lend a hand and observe how this small online community has expanded so much, with everyone working toward the same goal of lending a supportive hand. 

I learned about numerous strategies and their significance and advantages for successfully establishing an online community after completing the Hootsuite/Podium module 4 lesson. My biggest takeaway, however, was about diversity and inclusion of people from different backgrounds. Everyone must be given the opportunity to be authentic, express their ideas, and work enthusiastically.  The major factor in the formation of these online communities is providing people with the accessibility to participate in their community and with other similar groups. For instance, a variety of community pages have been created recently even within each college, and each student can join their preferred page and community, interact, and freely share their ideas. 

The Legal Side of Big Data

After seeing "The Legal Side of Big Data," I can say with certainty that it presented me with a very thorough understanding of knowledge relating to big data and its concerns, with a special focus on the legal side of it with relation to the corporate sector and its benefits and drawbacks. 

Businesses should be aware of the very serious risks associated with big data use, including data privacy and data protection. When organizations acquire huge data, this is the first risk associated with big data. At all costs, it must be kept private and secured, as its loss would be catastrophic for the company. The organization must be able to meet the financial requirements because protecting huge data comes at a significant cost. Additionally, the business should take the proper, legal precautions to carefully handle data storage, retention, and big data analysis. 

However, consumers have a right to know how their data is used, saved, and shared, therefore businesses must maintain transparency, which is another important factor. As a result, consumers should be informed of specific company behaviors. It is important to provide consumers with clear and straightforward privacy policies and terms of use so they may decide how their data will be used.

Moreover, the best way for a company to balance the opportunities and threats brought on by the growth of big data is to develop a thorough strategy and a plan in advance, carefully develop and carry out the strategy, successfully stay focused on business needs and goals, and put strong access and governance controls in place to be in compliance with all laws that apply.  

Algorithms, Advertising, and Exposure

The article "Three reasons junk news spreads so quickly across social media" is very helpful because it demonstrates how algorithms, advertising, and exposure connect, especially in today's world and particularly the business world where everything can be found online, containing all information. First off, algorithms, in my opinion, have a big say in what content we see and use on sites like social media and search engines. For instance, once I consistently browse more pages on Instagram, more of the same content is automatically recommended for me to consume. Social media keeps track of our preferences and what we watch in order to make us more drawn to the stuff we want and prefer.

Second, advertising is essential in the digital sphere, where companies use tailored ads to connect with particular groups. However, in my opinion, advertising is crucial for businesses to use because it can connect with customers globally and help them build brand loyalty by heavily promoting their goods. For instance, I find my favorite brands' commercials for sales or new products really beneficial because I can place an order right away, find out about the offer or discount, and buy the item I want when I see the advertisement.

The sheer amount of information available on the internet also frequently results in information overload and the possibility of being taken advantage of. Exposure on social media is, in my opinion, both an enormous benefit and an enormous negative because some information can fool our minds and because there is so much misinformation and negativity these days on social media platforms. Nevertheless, social media and the internet play a significant role in our lives, so we must know how much time to devote to them, when to devote it to them, and how to do so. In order to maximize our potential and build beneficial relationships, we should concentrate on commercial and intellectual news and use social media.

Prioritizing openness and fact-checking before disseminating news or information that could damage their reputation is something that firms should do. They can establish themselves as reliable providers of information and content by ensuring dependability and correctness.

The Social Media Consultant

My own opinion is that being a professional content developer or having an eye for spotting quality content production are the two most crucial traits for a social media consultant to possess. The second thing I would say is that they need to be effective communicators for social media platforms and aiding their clients. To do this, they need to have helpful skills in sales, project management, and development. These are fundamental abilities a consultant needs to have in order to succeed in comprehending the business side of social media. 

Getting some professional photos taken for my social media accounts to be shared, especially for accounts on platforms like linkedIn, would be the first plan and strategy I would suggest if I were a social media counselor to myself about how to boost my professional social media presence. The second would be to publish valuable and inspirational information. The third thing would be to be authentic and not be afraid to share my knowledge and interests.  But up until now, all I've been able to do is share a few excellent posts and a small amount of the work I'm enthusiastic about, including my art and love for volunteering at non-profit organizations. However, I believe that in the near future, I would like to have some professional images shot for my LinkedIn profile and other professional accounts. I would also like to express more of my interests on social media, be brave and sensible at all times.

The Social Dilemma - Big Data & Algorithms

After watching the instructor's lecture and the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma, I believe that while it can be easy to get caught up in the opportunities that Big Data and algorithms present, they are not always conducive to our advancement and can occasionally pose a threat to the security of the information we collect. Big data can be dangerous if it is wrongly collected, stored, or used. Big data hazards can be broadly categorized into four primary groups: security concerns, ethical concerns, deliberate abuse of big data by bad actors (such organized crime), and unintended usage. Additionally, storing data securely becomes more expensive and challenging the more data a company collects. It's essential to have robust safety precautions in place and to make sure they are current for any large data collector. The back-door safekeeping of many businesses is one area where mistakes are made. Front ends frequently have strong security, however backup data is frequently kept in less secure testing settings or backup and restoration systems. Even while we have laws to protect people's data, many businesses don't fully adhere to them. However, avoiding the existence of private information altogether is one of the best methods to stop a data breach. 

Social Media's Influence

The articles "Before the Internet" by Emma Rathbone and Max Stossel both provided a very realistic and truthful view of our life today. Since I firmly believe that social media does have an impact on our daily lives, it was quite simple to understand what they were saying and why. We could invest, learn more, have financial independence, and constantly learn about the world and everything educational using social media alone. However, we have reached a point where it wants us to flaunt everything we have, look into other people's lives, and constantly compare our lives to one another. Social media offers advantages and disadvantages in today's society, so we must choose how we will use it intelligently. We may either use it to advance and effectively manage our time there, or we can constantly slug out there and compare our lives. Since my work and submissions are literally hampered when I don't have access to the internet, I get very agitated and restless in those situations, which makes me realize how dependent our lives are on it. The fact that I can't even use the internet to search for information is very illuminating as to how essential it is to our daily lives. In particular, I would like to constantly set a screen time limit for the social media and other apps that I use the most, like Instagram. I do have a screen time limit of 20 to 30 minutes, so I put things off once that time has passed. Additionally, I support using social media and other technologies for communication and education so that we may better manage our time and use them for the greater benefit.   

The Social Media Experiment

I decided to proceed with the default option provided to create a period of social media-free time and see what happens after keeping a log of my social media use and tracking and analyzing it throughout the course of a day in order to create an experiment in which I significantly alter my social media use. With the four 6-hour sessions, I continued. In my experience, to be more accessible and just check my phone during certain times on the day went very well. I wouldn't say that it was a particularly uncomfortable experience for me because I don't like having to check my phone continuously and try to just do so at specific times during the day. As a result, I found the experience to be enjoyable. It was a little challenging for me at times, though, because I may miss a crucial phone or message and then it would be too late for me to respond. Overall, it was a unique, beneficial, and challenging experience that taught me the value of time management and that how you divide your time and spend it is crucial. 

Introduction + Google

Hello everyone! My name is Rhea. I am a global campus student, pursuing a general business administration degree. I am born and raised in the Sultanate of Oman, although originally from India. I have invested most of my time volunteering and participating in groups or activities that help me develop my leadership skills. I'm also quite good at handling tasks by myself, especially those that call for creativity or the creation of original ideas for a range of projects. My life has included a large amount of voluntary work as I believe it influences the neighborhood to improve it. It imparts tolerance and guidance that one can use to form future decisions. My current academic focus is on obtaining a business administration degree and then starting my own business and addressing institutional deficiencies in our society, I want to also obtain experience working in an organization for a few months. I really enjoy taking on new challenges and tasks. Through the knowledge and experience I will gain from this course, I hope to be given opportunities for internships or other work experiences that will enable me to put my skills to use.

Google is the business/brand that I believe best exemplifies social media use, especially in light of the ideas discussed in the reading assignment. Google demonstrates its commitment to social organizations through sustainable business practices, partnerships, and through providing new start-ups, organizations, and employees with a variety of options. The company has formed corporate social responsibility programs and introduced environmental friendly activities in response to the need to promote social causes and improve society. Due in large part to their data centers utilizing 50% less energy than others around the world, Google also received the highest CSR 2018 score from the Reputation Institute. They have also invested over $1 billion to initiatives using renewable energy.

The importance of social media, community, and purpose in Google's marketing strategy cannot be overstated. The company has a sizable online presence across a number of social media sites, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, where it produces interesting material to engage with its audience.
