Thank you! I hope to continue writing for this blog now that things have settled down a bit.

Speaking of which, I should probably explain why I've been absent these past three months. It mainly boils down to school and technological issues. I'm about to graduate high school so as a result, exam season has been much more stressful this time around than it was previously. In addition to that, my laptop broke and since it's the only way for me to write, I had to wait until I got it replaced before I could access the blog again.

However, my new laptop is here and exam season is over, so I am ready to start writing again!

Also, as a quick, silly side note: Apparently, they revealed Charlie's canon name back in April, and it's Charlie??? Out of all the things I was expecting upon my return, correctly guessing his name was not one of them.

Unfortunately, no. I'm not really a fan of the show, and I found most of the cast to be either boring or annoying. The only character I really liked was the Devil, so I might consider writing for the show's version of him in the future, but I'm still on the fence about that.

So, for now, I'll stick with the game's characters. Hope you understand!

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

While Samuel may be known for his reputation as a ruthless mob boss, he's actually far less brutal than most people think. Rather than resorting to violence, he prefers using manipulation and intimidation to get what he wants, and this is especially apparent when it comes to punishing his darling.

Whenever they do something that greatly upsets him, such as attempting to leave or alert the authorities, Samuel will continue to act as affectionate and doting as he always has towards them. However, that doesn't mean he's forgiven them, and he'll be sure to remind them of this in small ways.

His most common method is constantly bringing up their loved ones. Whether it be to them directly or to his subordinates when he knows his darling is within earshot, they'll find that he's suddenly much more interested in discussing their friends and family. Where they work, what school they attend, where they spend their free time, who they know - all things that seem innocent on the surface, but his darling will surely think he's planning something sinister, especially when he asks one of his underlings to "pay them a visit" or "have a nice chat with them".

In reality, Samuel has no intention of doing anything to them, but his darling doesn't need to know that. All they need is to believe that for as long as he's angry with them, everyone they care about is in danger. Their fear for their loved ones' safety, coupled with Samuel's unspoken (albeit empty) threats, is usually enough to dispel his darling's drive to escape and eventually, have them begging for his forgiveness.

Because of this, Samuel never really needs to punish them physically, be it with violence or isolation. Their mental anguish is all the punishment they need in order to fall back under his control.

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

Oddly enough, his lifestyle. While Samuel has never regretted his decision to become a criminal, a part of him greatly misses the more simple pleasures of life he hasn't been able to indulge in since starting his "business". One of those is domesticity, specifically with a partner.

No matter how powerful, or wealthy, or feared he becomes, the only thing he wants at the end of the day is a loving partner to go home to and unwind with. However, due to his work and the people he surrounds himself with, finding such a person isn't easy. Most people that have caught his fancy in the past had either revealed they only intended to use him, or had no desire to share a simple, domestic life with him.

Because of this, when his darling finally enters his life, it should come as no surprise that his patience has run thin by that point, and that he's unwilling to compromise or give up easily. Even if they're like all his previous romantic interests, or they simply don't fit the "sweet, stay-at-home spouse" image he has in mind, he doesn't care. Even if he has to use force, Samuel will find a way to mould them into the perfect, obedient partner he wants them to be, no matter how long it takes.

Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

He'd be willing to break them to some degree, but only if they "force his hand", as he puts it. Otherwise, he would never break his darling intentionally. It's unlikely that he would fall for them because of anything other than their true self, so he wouldn't want to lose that part of them. Would he shape them into what he wants them to be if they aren't already? Yes. But would he break them to the point of them becoming mindlessly obedient? Never.

Esther Winchester - Darling Who Gets Harassed Frequently and Goes to Her for Help

Note: This ended up being far darker than I intended, but I hope you enjoy your request nonetheless! Also, apologies for the extended hiatus. Hopefully I can get back to writing regularly soon. Word Count: 1.3k Warnings: Abuse of power, crying, mentions of attempted assault, mentions of harassment.

♤ Despite what her playful nature may suggest, Esther is actually far more observant than most people give her credit for. She is, after all, the sheriff of the Western Plains, a job where having a keen eye for trouble is essentially a requirement. Because of this, it’s likely that she senses something is troubling her darling long before they confide in her about it. Their slightly dampened mood, how they frequently glance around nervously in public, the way they flinch when someone calls their name - none of these things go unnoticed by her, and the more prevalent they become, the more her worry grows.

♡ Once she picks up on these changes in their behaviour, it doesn’t take long for her to confront them about it. She tries to keep her approach as casual and relaxed as possible, though a twinge of concern does seep into her voice as she asks if anything has been bothering them recently. Her darling, much to her annoyance, denies this and is quick to change the subject, leaving her unsure of what to do.

♧ Her first instinct after being brushed off is to switch gears and become more forceful, as she’s accustomed to doing when dealing with uncooperative people, but she knows better than to resort to such methods. Going the interrogation route would only result in them pushing her away further, and that is the last thing she needs while trying to figure out what they’re hiding from her.

◇ So she decides to drop the subject, although she does mention that if they are dealing with any sort of trouble, they can always go to her for help. She hopes that her words will be enough to convince them that there’s no harm in telling her about whatever’s bothering them, but she’s not particularly optimistic about it. Because of this, it’s not long after her confrontation with them that she decides to take action.

♤ A part of her knows they wouldn’t be happy to learn that she’d gone behind their back to figure out what’s been troubling them, but she doesn’t care. As much as she wants them to come to her on their own terms, she simply doesn’t have the patience for it. She won’t stand for them keeping secrets from her, and if she has to take a less-than-honourable approach to uncover what those secrets are, so be it.

♡ With her mind made up, it’s not long before she decides that the best way to go about it is by hiring a private investigator. With her vast connections, she's able to find someone she considers to be the best of the best pretty quickly, and wastes no time in getting them to help her. Whether they actually want to accept the task or not is irrelevant because Esther doesn't give them a choice; they both know this, and she doesn't even have to say it. Her strict orders to report every little thing they notice is enough for the detective to know that this is very important to Esther, and that they won't come out on the other end unscathed should they choose to defy her or make a mistake.

♧ With that settled, Esther returns to her work, unable to get her mind off the situation she's found herself in. She desperately wishes that she had more control in this scenario, and the fact that she doesn't infuriates her; however, moping about it won't change anything, so she decides the best she can do is simply continue to live her life as normal and silently hope that the detective is able to find something useful.

◇ But to her surprise, that ends up not being necessary, as soon after she returns to her office, her darling comes in. Her door is and always has been open for them, so she's not surprised by the sudden visit, but what she is surprised by is the state they come to her in: shaking and crying, a look of pure desperation and fear etched on their face as they look at her pleadingly.

♤ She responds immediately. After closing the door and locking it, Esther gently urges them to sit down as she snatches a handkerchief from her desk drawer and hands it to them. She's uncharacteristically quiet in that moment, the heartbreak evident in her expression as she comforts her darling, feeling as though her soul is being torn to shreds as she listens to them cry.

♡ Once they calm down, her tone is nothing but soft and reassuring as she asks them to tell her what's wrong. After a brief moment of silence, her darling finally speaks, confirming the suspicions she's had from the beginning: they've been dealing with harassment for a while and have finally reached their breaking point.

♧ Esther grimaces as they reveal what she's subconsciously known all along, but her expression doesn't even begin to show the sheer fury she feels as she listens to them. And it only grows, burning hotter and hotter with every word they speak, and she wants nothing more than to strike down anyone and everyone who's contributed to driving them to this state. But she manages to compose herself; there would be a time for that later. Right now, her darling needs her by their side.

◇ They explain that the harassment they'd been facing had only been verbal up until that point, but that one of the people who'd been targeting them had grown tired of their lack of reaction and took things a step further by daring to put their hands on them. The rage Esther feels is nearly murderous as she examines their terrified expression while they recount this, but she manages to get a hold of herself as they explain that they'd managed to get away before their harassers could actually harm them.

♤ Once they finish speaking, a deafening silence settles in the air. She doesn't dare show it, but Esther has already begun planning her revenge on the monsters that dared to hurt her darling. It doesn't matter who they are, where they live, or how powerful they are. Esther is going to make sure they pay dearly for their misdeeds, no matter what.

♡ With her mind made up, she asks for the names of the people who harassed her darling and they, unknowing of just how dark her intentions truly are, give them to her without a second thought. After spending a bit more time reassuring them, Esther offers to escort them home, which they gladly accept. On the way there, she keeps an eye out for any of her soon-to-be victims, and is slightly disappointed when they don't turn up. But that's alright. She'll get them soon enough.

♧ When the two finally arrive at her darling's home, Esther is sure to give them a long, almost too tight hug as she promises to take care of the situation. She leaves them with the assurance that once she's through with them, their harassers will never bother them again. Much to her delight, her darling remains blissfully unaware of the true meaning behind her words as they bid her goodnight and head inside.

◇ After all, they needn't worry themself with such a trivial thing. Esther will gladly take care of those who dared to bother her darling. But that doesn't mean she plans to kill them. No, that would be far too merciful for her taste. Instead, she's going to ruin them. No matter how many strings she has to pull or palms she has to grease, Esther will make sure those vile people will live the rest of their lives in misery for what they've done. No one is allowed to hurt her darling, and she'll make that abundantly clear as she sets out to destroy those who have.

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

Yes, and quite often, too. However, the reason for it and how he responds to it depends entirely on whether or not he’s been reformed.

Prior to his redemption, Saltbaker can become jealous of seemingly anyone and everyone that interacts with his darling. Be they strangers, acquaintances, friends, family, romantic rivals, it doesn’t matter; as long as they take up his darling’s time or divert their attention away from him, he can and will become jealous.

In most cases, he deals with it by simply grinning and bearing it, only to seethe in private later on. Jealousy is a most unbecoming thing for someone as cheerful and kind as him to feel, so he’s careful to mask it around his darling for fear of it driving them away. However, in cases where the person he’s jealous of poses an actual threat to his relationship with them, he’s not above disposing of them as swiftly as possible

As for post-redemption Saltbaker, his rampant jealousy stems not from general possessiveness, but fear. Even though he fully believes himself to have changed for the better, he worries that not everyone feels the same. Thus, whenever his darling interacts with someone else, he can’t help but fear that they’ll try to convince them to leave him.

The only thing able to ease his mind when this happens is his darling. In these instances, he allows them to see a much more vulnerable and unsure side of himself; a side which he usually suppresses. He all but begs them for comfort and reassurance, desperate to hear them promise that they’ll never leave him.

And if they don’t? He might just steal them away. At least that way they can stay with him forever, whether they want to or not.

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

Saltbaker’s behaviour around his darling is almost indistinguishable from his behaviour around everyone else, though that’s not to say there’s no difference in the way he behaves. The most obvious sign of his fondness for them doesn’t take the form of actions or words, but body language. His slightly wider smile, the higher pitch in his voice, the brighter light in his eyes, how he leans ever so slightly closer when speaking with them - all of these differences are extremely subtle and, to most, entirely invisible, but are very telling to anyone with a keen eye.

That being said, there is one major difference between how he treats his darling as opposed to others, though even the most observant person can miss it: prior to his redemption, his displays of kindness towards them are the only times when it’s genuine. Around everyone else, his jolly and goodhearted persona is just that, a persona. But when he’s with his darling, a softness within him that he believed he had buried long ago manages to resurface; it’s only when this happens that he realises what he feels for them is more than simple attraction, and the seeds of his obsession begin to grow.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Whether it’s before, during, or after his descent into villainy, one thing about Saltbaker remains consistent throughout all of it: he adores romance. Love letters, long walks on the beach, baking together, kissing in the rain, giving his coat to his partner when it’s cold - any romantic or domestic gesture you can think of, he’s likely fantasised about it at some point.

Because of this, it should come as no surprise that his approach to courting his darling is like something straight out of a romantic movie. He can’t help himself; even at his most despicable, he wants to have nothing short of a picture-perfect, fairy tale romance with them, and as long as they reciprocate this desire, he will happily sweep them off their feet in the most cheesy, cliché, overly sweet way possible.

Although Season 3 just dropped today, I have not yet seen it and have done my best to avoid spoilers, so I'm pretty sure I can still answer this question.

As for my hopes, the only thing I really want is to see more of the game characters. While I mainly want to see Grim and Cagney, I'd be perfectly happy with pretty much anyone from the game's cast.

That’s great! The more of us, the merrier.

As for me, I love way too many characters to pick just one favourite, but if I had to narrow it down, I’d say it’s a tie between Rook and Azul. Besides them, my other favourites include: Riddle, Trey, the Leech twins, Jamil, Crowley, Crewel, Chenya, Neige, and Rollo.

As for my favourite dorm, I’d have to say it’s Heartslabyul. The aesthetic is gorgeous, it’s based on Alice in Wonderland, which I love, and I really enjoy the dynamics all the characters in it have. They also kind of remind me of a family: strict mom, laid-back dad, chaotic twins, and the oldest child who refuses to acknowledge their crippling depression.

Yeah, of course! I got into Twisted Wonderland after seeing some really cool fan art for it on social media. I was very intrigued by the character designs, so I decided to look up the game and, well, the rest is history.
