An announcement
Hello!
Since it started, yakulev week has largely been run by one person. When I first started it, the yakulev and levyaku tags were updated rarely and usually only by the same few people. I wanted to bring attention to a ship that I loved and get more activity in the tags. Now, my otp is one of the larger ships in the fandom. It’s not kagehina levels of popular, but it’s definitely grown from what it used to be, and that makes me so happy.
Last year I found I wasn’t able to keep up with the demands of hosting a ship week on my own, and @cellophanenoise and @pearltoroses were kind enough to help me out. This year, I’m even busier than I was last, and so I will be retiring from running this blog and hosting yakulev week.
This blog will stay up as an archive of works from past years, but I won’t have time to host a new yakulev week this year. That means there will not be a yakulev week this year, unless there is someone (or some people) who would like to pick up where I’m leaving off.
You don’t have to have experience with hosting a ship/fanworks event before. yakulev week was my first real time moderating anything like this. You just need to have a love for the ship and time to dedicate to running the blog.
In general, duties include:
Choosing prompts for each day
Advertising the event prior to it starting
Reblogging fanworks during the week to the blog

I want to thank everyone who has participated in yakulev week in past years, as well as everyone who loves this ship. I’ve had a lot of fun running this blog and interacting with all of you through it. Every single one of you, regardless of whether you created fanworks or just liked/reblogged others’ work, has made this a great experience for me. All of you are the reason why I love being a part of fandom.

Lev had been looking his way for a few seconds now, and Yaku realized that he was talking to him.
“Ha?” he asked, head back down on Earth.
Lev laughed, and the sound of it made Yaku’s heart flutter, even after all this time.
“Yaku-san’s been distracted this entire time,” he said. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” he answered, and bit back the because I’m with you.

Day 6 - Flinch + didn’t know they were dating
I seriously wrote a 1K+ fic in less than a day. Help. This turned out really nice, though. I hope.

The third time Yaku flinches as a spike hits the floor, Kuroo has had it. They’re not even fifteen minutes into the practice yet, but it’s becoming clearer and clearer by the minute that he needs to get the libero off the court, sooner rather than later. If he’s that bad at hiding what seems to be a headache, it must be really killing him.

LEV SOMETIMES WONDERED what it would be like if people could read his mind, find out that he wasn’t as loud and energetic as he was on the outside.
His mind was a simple gray box full of nothing but his voice telling him the things he didn’t want to know, the things he already knew.
He often stayed awake in the middle of the night, staring at the ceiling, at the glow-in-the-dark stars he had put there himself when he was younger. The ones that lost their glow a long time ago.
He let the tears flow because he couldn’t understand it. He couldn’t understand why he was like this. Why there was a gaping hole in the middle of his chest. Why he felt like crying could fill it all up.
But his chest was a sieve, and everything was falling, falling, falling.
He just stared and let the tears flow. Stare. Let it flow. Stare. Flow.
He closed his eyes and wished for time to stop whatever it was doing and give him a fraction of what it gave the world.
But he didn’t deserve it. No, he didn’t deserve it, at all.
