obsessed with the way Eddie is about to look back down on his phone but in a split second recognises from Buck’s face that something very serious is happening and immediately gives him his whole attention.
it literally took less than a second for Eddie to read Buck and he immediately responded accordingly. it was so fast, blink and you’d miss it.
i’ve said it way to many times before and i’ll say it again: they’re soulmates in the most beautiful way. idc about “romantic” a “platonic” how about written in the stars

The response has been beautiful - like I can’t tell you how many wonderful messages I received from people who are openly queer and people who are not openly queer, which has been really amazing for me to see. I’ve received messages from firefighters who have said, “I’m not out and seeing this means the world to me.” I could never in a million years of expected to be getting those messages, so it’s very humbling and just a really amazing experience for me to get to be a part of that.

Can't stop thinking about how real Buck's coming out scenes felt. Like he didn't intend to come out to Maddie, he just sort of slipped and it happens. It's messy and a little awkward and he's rambling but like that's how it is, these things aren't always planned sometimes they just happen. And Maddie is so supportive, reassuring Buck that he's not a fraud and it's ok to just take some time to figure himself out. All while gently navigating her idiot brother being an idiot, now you're more then an ally, its not abnormal to check out a hot guys ass 😂 it's not abnormal but it's not a very straight thing to do either Buck.
And then when he comes out to Eddie, it comes up in conversation Eddie saying how maybe Buck and Tommy have the right idea, staying single and just hang out with the guys and there's this split second where Buck almost doesn't say anything and even once he does you can see terrified he is, afraid that his best friend is going to reject him in some way. And Eddie is so clearly distracted but the second Buck starts to get serious Eddie drops his phone to give Buck his undivided attention. And he's surprised that Tommy is gay first and then after a minute of it settling realising that that means Buck is something too. And he can clearly see how scared Buck is and reassures him 3 times about it, firstly saying that it's not weird that him and Tommy were on a date and then telling Buck it doesn't change anything between them and finally once he's about to leave turning back to give Buck a hug because he knows Buck is an over thinker and he doesn't want Buck to have any doubt about if things are still ok between them.
And that thread of nervousness and fear that ran through the whole scene was so personal to me, on paper Buck has no reason to think that Maddie, Eddie or any of the other fire fam would have an issue with him being attracted to guys but in those moments before coming out it doesn't matter how well you think someone will take it on paper it is still terrifying.
I am just so impressed with the writing and acting of those scenes, they were so believable and genuine and I adored them. 💗💜💙
