Can’t put much fault on her shoulders; he brushed it aside for the true reason he’s here. Nodding to the officer to follow inside, the detective’s attention shifted to Landon Wynter. Definitely looking less battered beside his choice of seat. Not really a choice there all things considered. Glad to see the director in one piece and not wholly fallen if he could ask for an autograph he just might. However this is business. Carrying something that belonged to the man he’s sure people will gossip. Pulling up outside led to some nosy pedestrians. “Have a lot camping around. Might have even noticed a TMZ van down the block.” Distinctly Hollywood and celebrity isn’t it? A hell of a place to be for remnants of a missing person’s case and Jack’s seen a lot of grim in this town. “Looking well Mr. Wynter. How you doing?”

“I’m glued to a wheelchair,” Landon’s retort comes on the cusp of Alice running ahead leaving him in the dust. Not her fault but he’s feeling it worse with them here. “Think you can tell how I’m doing.”

“Fair enough.” Jackson shrugged, reaching into his pocket. “Wanted to check in on you. And return this.” The detective stepped over with Landon’s phone held out. “Apologize for the wait. We had to get everything we needed off it. Especially what can be used in court.”

Landon stared at the phone he hasn’t been able to use in what seems like eternity. He’s been using another lately but to have it back is surreal in many ways. The man took it from Jackson, sliding a thumb against the power button. @xwildheart // prev

“Colorful as always,” the brunette’s voice swam through a plume of violet smoke, wrapped around her as she appeared. An alley of all places but she’s too used to this city to complain. Her eyes sparkle with a hint of the same hue. Magic vibrated where she stood, disappearing after she materialized. Esme made eye contact with Dahlia before turning towards Landon. “You must have a good reason to call me in front of her.”

If something happened to Daisy… The human girl had become a close friend. Despite any past circumstances watching Landon with her now, she doesn’t hold ill will. How can she with the look of concern on her face?

“Vampire problem,” he explained while nodding towards the dumpster. “She stumbled on me protecting the territory.”

Meaning Dahlia is aware of what they are. “If I knew I would be showing off my magic I would have come in less theatrical.” She lifted an eyebrow to Dahlia. “I’m sure you have questions but first. Let me remove this.” @diivinerose // prev

“California is a treasure trove of crime but add a Hollywood touch and we’re living a movie.” Jackson’s always had a liking for a good film. Ever the persistent movie fan, he’s taken up interesting cases all around LA and Hollywood. Side by side they’re caked in blood, seeped into the ground those cities are thriving on. Little glittering diamonds to hapless one hit wonders and would be stars. He could chalk up the west coast lifestyle to dreams built on a dime of lies. All of it is clean on the surface but the man knows better. “Not my choice. Murder mysteries aren’t my favorite thing. Tell me if you ever saw a real life cop stitch clues together like Sherlock Holmes.”

The man leaned forward, eyes focused across the little table by the window. Nice cup of coffee in a diner smack in the middle of downtown is what he needed. Too normal with what he’s dealing with but they’re here for a break from the world. “You got something on your mind. I can see that.”

“I just don’t understand. Everything was going so swimmingly.” Ophelia’s reaction may be a tad understated. She’s not dealt with something so odd in her life and she’s in Hollywood! Weirdest apparently of weird or so they say. Her life is far removed from growing up a dull socialite with an overbearing mother. On her own with her agent finally reeling her in on a proper project, Ophelia is ecstatic. Before the set accidents started she had a dream come true. All of it seems to be fading as quickly as she snapped it up.

She used to be afraid of the audition process. Fear of this unseen negative force clenching around her tops rejection for a role. Unease is her only companion. Several crew members went to emergency rooms. Set disaster, falling apart; food poisoning for makeup and costume departments. Even one of the supporting casts is suffering a broken bone. “How can multiple people have such bad luck? Do you know someone says the entire production is cursed? What if it’s true?”
