"What the fuck did you mean, flattered?"
Jamie glances at Roy on the bike behind him. "What?"
"Look where you're fucking going," Roy snaps, and Jamie looks back ahead just in time to dodge someone wheeling a pram. "I said, what the fuck did you mean when you said you were flattered that everyone thought you were gay? Why is that flattering?"
Jamie is confused for a moment that he's bringing this up now, then remembers Roy wasn't in the room for that. Someone must have mentioned it to him. "Always wanted to be gay," he explains.
"Why?"
Jamie shrugs. "Better clothes. Better clubs. Way better hookup apps. Plus, men are dead sexy."
There is a very long silence. Jamie glances back again just to make sure Roy hasn't fallen off the bike.
"You think men are sexy," Roy says flatly. "As in, you would like to have sex with them?"
"Yeah," Jamie sighs. "I think about it all the time."
Another long silence, then: "Have you ever heard the word bisexual?"
"Oh yeah, that's people who get to bang both! The fucking dream, innit. Wish that were me."
The rope around Jamie's waist starts to jerk rhythmically. He looks back to find Roy banging his head against the handlebars of the bike. "I don't—even—get fucking—paid for this," he's mumbling, and that's all Jamie catches before he crashes full-on into a streetlamp.

Everyone like ooh I want Rebecca/Trent to stop Ted at the airport
You know what I want if Ted goes back to Kansas? The entire team chasing Ted through the airport. I want carnage as the greyhounds sprint through the crowds making an absolute fucking scene.
Dani sobbing, Isaac picking up Colin and trying to throw him over the barricade when they're blocked by security, Jamie trying to flirt with security to let them through and then being Insulted that they don't know who he is, bumbercatch talking about how if they can just get him to the cockpit he can land the plane
Sam trying to be the voice of reason and explain to the security that they're trying to get to their coach and say goodbye
The team ends up being detained by airport security and ted hears the curfuffle. He heads over to them all distraught they missed a chance to aya goodbye. Beard and Roy are watching on and Ted's like "Did y'all tell them I'm just going for the off season?"
"No coach."
Ted ends up missing his first flight

Another piece that, to me, was a sign of normalization more than malice, was Ted’s monologue this episode.
Was his analogy off? Lol yeah I think we’re all in agreement about that. Did it take away from Colin’s moment? Yes.
And what so many people don’t like about that is something I loved.
The moment Ted went off into his meandering, I commented to my spouse: “Way to take attention away from Colin! Nice.” Because, god, he doesn’t want to be a spokesperson. That attention from 20+ people, being in such a vulnerable spot? Honestly, I’d love me a Ted talking some silly bs that ultimately leads to him emphasizing how he DOES care. He cares so much, they all care so much, and yet I am not the center of attention but a part of a whole, a part of the team.
I get why people don’t like that part. And I get many wanted to see a payoff to Colin’s arc that included a heartfelt coming-out, which we didn’t get because they cut to Isaac and Roy (and Will lol).
But god, I am so tired of coming-out arcs because we shouldn’t have to do that shit. Taking attention away from Colin, taking attention away from the coming-out, afforded them the opportunity to show what matters: our friends and communities, the found family many of us grew into.
It may have missed the mark for a lot of people, but it made Colin’s identity just a PART of him, as important as it is, but ultimately said “this is not all of him” and then showed him after he helped the team score TWO goals, even though they were one man down, and I loved that.
Because, yeah, we’re queer, but I’ve always thought that our passions and skills should matter more than who and how we love. I love seeing that sentiment represented. That normalcy.

I find it interesting and strangely heartening that the reactions to the last episode’s coming out storyline vary so much.
Some find Colin’s arc empowering. Some argue the focus was on the straight reactions too much. Some liked the resolution of Isaac’s hostility being grounded in hurt over perceived distrust by his friend (and the worry what he, Isaac, did that made Colin distrust him in the first place). Some outright hated that aspect and argue Isaac putting his hurt over his gay friend’s struggle made the whole thing homophobic and betrayed the episode’s intended message.
I could go on (though I’d need to check the tag for more detailed examples so as to not misrepresent people’s opinions). I feel reminded of the varied reactions to Jack’s display of misogyny and the fallout that came from a class divide, but felt like the use of a harmful lesbian trope to so many nonetheless (Jack’s apparent bisexuality or pansexuality notwithstanding).
And the thing is: I understand every piece of criticism, as well as every piece of queer joy, so I almost feel compelled to… agree with everyone. All these harmful or joyful elements are right there, or people wouldn’t pick up on them. Yes we bring our own biases into the mix (it’s why I’m partial to reader response theory - WHY do we react the way we do?), but ultimately, the fact that Ted Lasso sparks such varied reactions brings me joy and it shows me that more representation means, well, more normalization.
It used to be queer rep was nothing more than a whispered word or a crude joke. But now our experiences as well as the representation we do get are so varied that we get all these different reactions. I think it’s impossible for queer rep to be liked by all of us - not least of all because we consider different things harmful, depending on our experiences and the environment we live in (social as well as political). And this feels… normal.
I mean, hell. I think we’re getting there. Despite all the pushback against us trans and non-binary folk in the UK and US especially, there are areas where things just start to feel normal. I think that may be my main takeaway from Ted Lasso once it’s finished.

Infodump time!
It’s a common misconception that cats like their privacy when they’re peeing/pooping. To show them that they’re really part of the family, you best move the litter box to a frequented area (so probably the living room for most folks) where the cat feels the community around it while… pooping. (Yes I know.)
Also helps when you tend to forget cleaning the box! No way you can ignore it when it’s right there.
And as an aside, best way to handle it is to always have one litter box more than you have cats at home. They like being clean! That extends to their litter boxes.
my mom refuses to make this post so I'm gonna make it instead:

Just gonna put this out there so that one delusional person on the internet said it... rebecca went through the psychic's predictions and ended up falling head over heels for someone totally unexpected and unpredictable... now ted is cycling through those same predictions.... mmmhh....
