The popularity of ships like Aziraphael/Crowley and Ed/Stede makes so much sense because it’s the classic good boy meets bad boy except this time the bad boy is also a good boy, the good boy is insane actually, and both boys are middle aged men

thought: crowley was moving piles of books around the bookshop back to their original place because he was trying to fix Gabriel's insane way of stacking them on the shelves

no but it's the way for aziraphale "nothing lasts forever" meant "i'm willing to give up the bookshop if it means i can be with you safely" and for crowley it meant "nothing lasts forever, not the bookshop, not earth, not us"

yes the last episode of season two was gut wrenching, and i’ve read a stupid amount of fix it fics already, but here’s the thing: if aziraphale had immediately leapt out of the lift and run back to crowley, it wouldn’t have been satisfying and it definitely would’ve been out of character. yes there’s been 6,000 years of pining, but unlike crowley, aziraphale’s been experiencing 6,000 years of conditioning and trauma from heaven. of course he chooses to return to heaven even when deep down he wants to be with crowley, to him it’s not even a choice! he’s seen all the atrocities committed by heaven, but he’s also been told his entire existence that heaven is good. crowley’s solution to heaven’s wrongs is to abandon heaven and hell entirely and run away together, but for aziraphale, with all that brainwashing under his belt, the only solution is to make heaven good, just how he believes it should be. he’s holding onto that hope and familiarity he thinks heaven provides him. in season three we’ll get to watch aziraphale realise that he was wrong about heaven, and consequently break the cycle and seek out crowley himself, and maybe even ask for a redo on the kiss, and THATS what’s keeping me going through the anguish of episode six.

Okay. As heartbreaking the last scene was, I understood why it needed to happen? It lines up with Aziraphale's character and how it will come to play for his arc and his relationship with Crowley in season 3.

And I have seen speculations that Metatron might have drugged/manipulated Aziraphale to make him more, not brainwashed per se, but more agreeable to Heaven's side?

Still not sure how to feel about that. Because the thing is, I don't want this to be an easy fix. I want Aziraphale to take a long, hard look at himself and think, "Oh no. What have I done?" and will do everything to make it right with Crowley.

And it's not just Aziraphale. I want Crowley to meet him halfway. We all know Aziraphale genuinely has pure intentions unlike any other angel. He wants to save humanity as much as Crowley does, and he accepted the job because he thinks it's the best way to do it. He's the smartest person Crowley knows and will make Crowley think, "Alright, you were a dick, but you may be on to something here."

Anyway, Neil and everyone know what they're doing. Kudos to them, let's all make season 3 happen.

good omens analysis

omg ok so I've let the ending cook in my brain for about a day and lowkey? I like it so much.

So at first glance, major betrayal on aziraphales part. Poor crowley!! But think about it, it doesn't quite make sense. Look at aziraphale throughout season two. His lingering glances at crowely. His use of "our". The way he asks him to dance and lights up when he's with him.

I fully belive the Metatron used a miracle to get aziraphale to agree, and aziraphale was desperately trying to fight it.

The last few minutes of episode six are GUTWRENCHING. But look at aziraphales face, body language, and speech. It's like he's switching back and forth. I think he's fighting whatever was in the coffee.

Crowley is heartbroken, and I know aziraphale is too. And if he's truly being influenced by the Metatron, does he even know crowley kissed him?

Aziraphale and crowley love each other. And if it was really Aziraphale, I think he would have realized 'their side' is better than anything heaven would have to offer.

Edit: another important thing to account for, the purpose of season 2 is to bridge seasons 1 and 3. It's a Segway. It gives context and motive and character development. There's no reason for hate to niel or any actors. They all seem so genuinely excited and I think we've only seen a snippet of what could be in store for season 3. There's so much more to the story here! The cliffhanger is not the end.
