Last week I read two books! The flowers I got for my birthday matching with the book covers is such a nice coincidence.

Kelly Latimore | Christ in the Rubble
Red Letter Christians partnered with artist Kelly Latimore to create this new icon, "Christ in the Rubble," which illustrates the prophetic message that if Jesus was born today, he would be born "under the rubble." Kelly wants his art to be a ‘holy pondering’ - a process that potentially brings about a new way of seeing. Our hope is that this icon, "Christ in the Rubble" will create more dialogue among Christians in the United States during this holy season about the ways our beliefs and actions - or lack thereof - contribute to the violence we're currently witnessing in Gaza. How can we shape a culture of Christianity where love truly has no boundaries? How do we create a world where our poor, homeless, refugee, Palestinian Savior - born to a teenage mother and later condemned to death - would be cherished had he been born today.

here is a complete guide to my productivity model for notion! it is modeled after the app sunsama, but tailored to my personal needs :)
here is what the first page looks like:
Tumblr media
organized by day of the week, i can filter my tasks by priority level, channel, day of the week (to clear out the ones that are past!), or focus mode. (during a single study session, i will tag a few tasks "focus" so that i only see those on my to-do list.)
as you can see, i can edit the tile, or i can expand it to edit every available property. here's what that looks like:
Tumblr media
here are what my channels and priority levels look like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when i check a task off, it moves to my "finished" page, which is hidden in the main view:
Tumblr media
you can see i also have repeating tasks (mostly chores), upcoming tasks, postponed events, and a backlog of tasks that are easy to drag and drop between folders/days of the week. i clear out my finished tasks every week.
lastly, i add most of my tasks in "planning" mode, which looks like this:
Tumblr media
that's just about it! personally i didn't need the timeblocking feature on notion because i don't organize my day that way (i have a very weak concept of time...), but the drag-and-drop kanban board was super important! it was not that difficult to set up and it was super fun to customize. let me know if anyone wants a template, the video i used to set up, or has any questions!

semester recap・:*:。☃︎𓏲ּ
sorry for disappearing a bit! i simply could not take enough aesthetic pictures of my work lmao! but there's always a chance to try try again so let's start with my semester recap:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: a bulletin board i made for my residence halls, "adopt better habits," with puffles / reading the ballad of songbirds and snakes / orange-theme pinterest board]
successes!:
made the cutest bulletin in my hall & got a promotion at work (i haven't accepted yet! there are drawbacks)
i have finished the semester with all As so far
thesis topic approved!
i designed a new productivity model for notion
read many more books than i usually do!
Ls:
my only final that hasn't been graded yet is worth 100% of my grade and has a massive late penalty and i didn't finish my citations so i might get an academic dishonesty case opened against me ummm :)
my social media internship was not as engaging and useful as i had hoped but i had some nice experiences
my service engagement internship event completely flopped and may continue to flop because of polarization between antizionists and zionists in the community :)
looking forward to next semester:
taking a jewish philosophy class
starting new positions! i'm between director of advocacy for the honors college council, or an officer position for a jewish liberation group i co-founded
starting my independent research class as part of my thesis (and in a research cohort)
drop some prayers that i don't completely fail my last class and have a mark on my academic record! amen

I have a collection of cute bookmarks, but there's something so cool about using pieces of paper you come across to mark pages.

Identify your personal learning style, peak productivity hours, and preferred study environments.
Girls in Finance server/project // Selfhelpforstudents server
Step 1: Learning Style Assessment
1.1 Research Learning Styles:
Explore different learning styles, such as visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or read/write. Familiarize yourself with the characteristics of each. (find my post here)
1.2 Reflect on Past Experiences:
Recall situations where you felt most engaged and learned effectively. Note the activities and methods that worked best for you.
1.3 Take Learning Style Assessments:
Utilize online learning style assessments to gain insights into your preferred learning style. Examples include VARK (Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, Kinesthetic) or Honey and Mumford's Learning Styles Questionnaire.
Step 2: Peak Productivity Hours Identification
2.1 Self-Reflection:
Reflect on your daily energy levels and focus. Identify times when you feel most alert, focused, and energetic.
2.2 Experiment with Different Times:
Schedule study or work sessions during various times of the day. Observe your productivity levels during these sessions.
2.3 Track Productivity Patterns:
Maintain a journal to log your productivity levels throughout the day. Look for patterns or consistent periods of heightened focus.
Step 3: Preferred Study Environments
3.1 Experiment with Settings:
Study in different environments, such as libraries, cafes, quiet rooms, or outdoor spaces. Note how each setting affects your concentration and comfort.
3.2 Consider Noise Levels:
Assess your tolerance for noise. Determine if you work better in complete silence, with background music, or in moderately noisy environments.
3.3 Evaluate Lighting:
Pay attention to the impact of lighting on your focus. Experiment with natural light, artificial light, and different color temperatures.
3.4 Note Distractions:
Identify potential distractions in each environment. Consider whether you thrive in a completely distraction-free zone or if a mild level of distraction enhances your productivity.
Thanks for reading! Hope it helps! x

Do you want a guide to writing a research paper but you don't want to scroll a mile on your dash? This post is for you, buddy.
This book (book????) or tidily-laid-out-shitpost or whatever you want to call it is a handy-dandy guide to college-level humanities research methods and paper-writing.
This is a step-by-step follow along of my process as I, a person with a BA in English Lit, navigate writing a paper on George Orwell for my English 101 class.
This is NOT carefully crafted, it is literally a post that I made.
That said, it is a post that I made that is twelve thousand words on how to write a paper and now comes with a table of contents and headers and fancy alt-text and image descriptions and is forty fucking pages.
This document includes:
How to read an academic paper
How to skim a book for a college class
How to prioritize what sources to use
How to write an organized, cohesive research paper with an introduction, support paragraphs, and conclusion
(i managed to only say "fuck" six times in forty pages so I'm not taking them out.)
ANYWAY for a PDF click here.
If you want it in .docx click here.
Free to use for any reason, free to reproduce, give them to whoever, just don't sell them. (if you want to credit me if you do share them, ms-demeanor.tumblr.com is perfectly fine)
Happy finals season, babes. Good luck with those papers.
