Hello everyone! This is a Skyjacks server with a focus on fan events and having a space for new listeners to be able to talk about the story as they listen. There are over 200 episodes! That’s a lot to catch up on alone.
Here is my propaganda post and another really good one (this one talks about who the characters are too!) to hopefully convince some people to join. Please reblog! I want to try and get as many people who would be interested in here as we can.

I am of a strong in the world of game opinion that this is why there are not more adventuring parties running around your worlds.
Let’s put 5 insanely powerful individual together in high stress situations and let’s give them magical weapons and cursed items and make them responsible for world ending events!
Any party that doesn’t implode and kill each other by lv 5 is obviously destined to save the world
The other day during D&D, we had a full party implosion.
There was DRAMA. There was PVP. There was cursed-sword-induced paranoia causing the druid to attack the warlock; there was evil patron shenanigans and trauma nerfing the warlock into nonverbal near-catatonia; the rogue took a swing at the bard and nearly ended him; the paladin was on the verge of a nervous breakdown; the party nearly split, actual tears were shed, everything was on fire--
And in an unfortunate twist of timing, my bugbear was naked (but for his loincloth) throughout ALL of this.

TLDR All Fantasy and Sci Fi are actually horror
In the school of acting where I got my MFA we had a saying, “what is it really like?” It meant that you always needed to ask yourself about the truth of the moment and what that was really like to experience.
If you were playing a person who’d suffered a great loss, it was your job as the actor to ask yourself “what is that really like?” And then to, in your dramatic imagination, make space for that experience and imagine it.
It was always helpful to me but after grad school I started to incorporate it into my other creative aspects unconsciously and that was when it hit me…
All adventure fantasy and sci fi is horror.
Like if you really think about it, going into a unknown cave system with three other people to hunt vicious, dangerous creatures who would mercilessly kill you on sight is objectively horrible and full of fear and death. Not to mention the traps and the natural monsters in the cave to begin with. You’d be lucky to get out with your lives let alone any treasure.
The only difference between a horror fantasy and a fantasy is literally the filter you put over it and how real you imagine it.

I must once again remind my listeners that the 20 hour work days are not everyday but are only when flying from point a to point b across dangerous skies. Other than that they are given plenty of rest, food, clothes, amenities and ample time to be kids while learning a valuable trade.
And even when there are “20 hr work days” it is sprinkled with meal times, rest periods and learning. It’s not all work all the time. They are specifically told to take breaks on duty and sleep and get food when they can. In fact, the senior staff and the initiates are the ones doing most of the worst stuff.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
god dang, I do love those Courier kids. hope they can catch a break from 20 hour work days. should form a child union

I was 28 when Steven Universe came out. I was a full fledged adult. My perspective of that time is very different than those who were children watching this groundbreaking and fascinating show. Regardless of how I experienced 2013-2019, I recognize how precious those times were for those younger than me (for me this years were 1998-2004). Hold onto those memories my friends but always remember that time must go forward and the perspective must always shift.
With all my love

Kristen Applebees is a mess of a human being and understandably so. To many that’s her charm. She’s messy and funny and damaged and a problem and frustrating.
But her truth, beyond everything, is how talented a cleric she is. She is a cleric to her very bones. Like, the ability to come into the sight of another congregation of worshippers and realize that it doesn’t feel “right” but not being able to adequately express why it doesn’t feel right is pure clerical talent. And that her assessment resonates with Tracker speaks to that innate sense.
Personally I am fascinated to see what a 30 year old Kristen Applebees is like.

That moment when you realize that because you’re an elder millennial born in the mid 80s, any of the Bad Kids could be your actual children.
This show hits a little differently when you realize what’s up
