my experience meeting the academy is…!

i was at the meet and greet on may 26th, 2023 at the dome, london. this is literally just me info-dumping about how amazing it was so enjoy

william - i actually spoke to him last as he was surrounded by fans, but he was so sweet. he made a terrible dad pun after somebody asked him to do the fangs up pose. right before i got to talk to him, a guard came up to him and said he needed to hurry and william wanted to make sure everyone got a signature/photo. he struggled with the spelling of my name too like everyone does 😭

me: “could i ask for a signature and a photo please?”

him: “of course! *takes a photo w/ me* what’s your name?”

me: “lottie!”

him: “say it again?”

me: “lottie!”

him: “lottie? is that l o t i e?”

me: “it’s l o t t i e.”

he wrote it down and that was that but i found it funny because nobody gets the t’s in my name right lol

mike - he’s admittedly my favourite so seeing him in person was unreal. he’s so chatty and invested in every conversation he has. thanked me for coming a lot too! he was a little hesitant about his signature on my poster because he thought it was too messy haha. i was literally right in front of him during the show and he smiled at me a lot. :’) at one point when it was quiet on stage for a minute he said “what’s up? :)” to the people in front of him and i was like “hi!!! :D” i did the🤘sign to him during big mess and he gave me a grin and a nod so. plus i got his guitar pick!! (thanks to the tech guy who saw me pointing madly at it and handed it to me) i made eye contact with mike carden!! multiple times!!! i can die happy now!!!!

sisky - he was raving about how much he loves the uk! i asked him if he was enjoying it here so far, and he said that england was one of his favourite places, along with scotland. i was like “it’s too hot!” (it was roasting outside) and he seemed shocked that i thought so. i told him i was from england but lived in scotland so i wasn’t used to super warm weather. he said that he wanted to take his wife to glasgow on a vacation because it was a romantic city. i said “well, stay off the streets, they’re scary!” and he was like “oh, i have street smarts!”

butcher - was just happy to be there. he was so easy and fun to talk to! thanked me for coming a lot and was so eager to talk to whoever approached him. i accidentally blinded people, including him when we took a photo because i had my flash on and i apologised but he was like “don’t worry about it! :)” he seemed to find it funny that i was so in denial about the whole situation. i told him i couldn’t believe this was happening and he laughed and i was like no seriously is this real. like. woah :0
