pairing: steve harrington x popular!reader (king/queen series) info: enemies to lovers set-up cause it’s actually just a drabble, pre-seriesa/n: opened this ask ready to explain i have never written for steve rogers - but the word ‘harrington’ was a pleasant surprise.

“Harrington!” You storm into Tommy H’s garage, duck under the half-pulled down door painted burgundy and with a tilt of your head get Tommy and Carol and their little crew to scram without so much as a hard glare like you used to.

Harrington — Steve Harrington — freezes, tilted back in his chair with his feet propped up on the makeshift table they’ve drug an old couch and pool chairs around.

“What?” He scoffs, glaring at you through the V of his propped up knees and popping a bottled beer open with a hiss that makes your nose crease in frustration. He takes a long sip and you’re still looking.

“Uck.” You squeeze your eyes shut. “I need you to date me.” 

He chokes and you glare off to the side. 

“Are you-” he hacks up his lungs again and hops up, legs sticky with spilled beer and disoriented from the news. He gets to the sink and presses himself tightly against it trying to prevent the beer that’s pooled around his shirt from dripping down to his legs and crotch. He looks back at you “Serious?” 

He shakes the sticky beer off his arms and approaches you, bottle still loose in hand. You watch it, but don’t budge even with how close he gets, his breath right down on you.

Your brows knit tightly together. “Do I look like I’m serious?”

Tighter now, and he stops breathing. “Okay well-“
