Happy plagueiversary

HO HO HOLY SHIT ITS CHRISTMAS EVE

Has anyone on this hellsite had a whole toenail removal done, preferably on one of their big toes?  How bad did it suck? How was recovery? Do I need to dig my leftover Vicodin from gallbladder removal surgery out?

My janky toe nail is getting yanked in a week or so, and ya girl is NERVOUS.

I was a crazy band nerd who, when not with other band kids, spent lunch period with the weird kids who would likely now be identified as “most likely to participate in a violent event during school hours”. We despised any and all school-sponsored sports and more often than not, were contemplating how much vandalism we could get away with before anyone caught on. One of my friends got carted off for trying to unalive herself with a spork she stole from the cafeteria, another got suspended when she suffered alcohol poisoning from sneaking in a water bottle full of vodka.

But sure, buzzfeed. I definitely must’ve been hanging with the jocks just because I eat French fries and drink lemonade.

This is one of the meanest things anyone has ever said to me - and I lived through the era of tumblr ace discourse.

So, my SIL’s dog nearly died less than a week ago after ingesting large quantities of chocolate (young kids had gotten it out, not put the lid on the container and dog did what dogs do). She pulled through, likely because our vet is less than 10 minutes from our respective houses, hadn’t yet left for the day and was able to begin treatment immediately.

Today, less than a week later, she texts my Mom and asks her to help convince my brother that they should get another dog. Y’know, because they’re clearly doing SO WELL with managing the one they have, on top of several young kids that they already struggle to find babysitters and caretakers for.

I s2g, people can be hella book smart, but also have a distinct lack of any and all common sense.

You know your mental health is in a real precarious place when you openly cry in relief at something being a minor issue VS a major, more expensive one.  Like, shit is still very much a dumpster fire, but a small box store one and not a super gross behind-a-shitty-restaurant-on-a-hot-summer-day one.  

Livin for the fact that I just realized we are related to the person that “Rollo” from the tv show. Vikings, is based off of……and then, if you move shows, we’re also linked to Mary, Queen of Scots, from Reign.

In the last 2-3 weeks, between our house and each of my brothers families, we have had cases of double-ear infection, strep throat, covid, the flu that no-one can seem to get over, one diagnosis of cancer, and another kidney stone that required an ER visit (and are taking bets on it sending him back to the hospital before it passes).

Can we get a fucking break, please?

My SIL was just diagnosed with Breast Cancer - She's in her mid-40's. There were no lumps, just some odd irritation of the skin.

Check your tiddies, y'all. Be safe out there.

My modded switch fucked up and I had to re-mod the system - and I lost the ACNH island that I've been working on for several months because Nintendo's "enable online backups" system is bullshit.
