Gentlebeard Wedding Week - FAQs
Who can participate?
Everyone can participate! Whether you're an artist or a writer, a musician or a cosplayer, everybody is more than welcome to share their art for this event. This fandom is so incredibly talented and I can't wait to see what people come up with.
Why run this event?
Since David Jenkins's announcement that no alternative home for OFMD was found, one of the main comments I have seen from the fandom is that we wish Ed and Stede got to have their wedding. I want them to have it, too. Simple as that!
What rating can fics/art be?
Whatever you would like them to be! All of the prompts will be SFW, but if you'd like to put a smutty spin on something, you are absolutely welcome to.
Can I collaborate with other creators?
YES! The artists and writers in this fandom collaborate so well, and I completely welcome people combining their talents if they wish.
Do I have to use all three prompts?
Not at all! If only one prompt speaks to you for a particular day, just use that one. If you'd like a challenge, try and incorporate all three prompts in your piece each day.
Do I have to participate every day?
No, you don't. You can create for as many or as few days of the event as you like. This is just intended to be a bit of fun, so please don't pressure or overwork yourself.
What if I've never created for this fandom before?
There's no time like the present!
Closer to the time, an AO3 collection will be made for fics to be posted to, and I will reblog everything posted here with the tags 'gbweddingweek' and 'gentlebeard wedding week'.

I mean, fuck Izzy. How Ed healed? How Ed learned that he was loved and that he could love himself ? How Ed emerged from his own heartache and learned to trust with greater truth and depth than before?
How he saw Stede himself as flawed and not as the guy who had it all figured out, and loved him all the more for how real he was?
How Ed was able to cry for someone he was losing, as complicated and fucked up as that relationship was, and to see the family around him who loved him and were there for him?
How Ed became more the person he wanted to be and not the person he thought he had to be? How Ed could say I love you in the open, in the light? How Ed got what he wanted and who he wanted, and will go on being truly, deeply loved, and loving in return?
Like, Ed fucking won, man.

I seen a lot of people argue at Percy is too smart in the show but One, Sally Jackson used Greek myths as bedtime stories, she took him to museums, she did her best to teach him about the God's and monster's that were gonna come to hurt him, was he ment to not learn anything? And Two, Perseus Jackson isn't an idiot! The books are from HIS point of view and he's is an unreliable narrator that THINKS he's an idiot. He's not ACTUALLY an idiot.

HBO is probably hoping that if they vaguely say the 'numbers' (whatever that means) weren't there it'll deflect accusations of homophobia, and if they say that they're supportive of it being picked up somewhere else, then we'll leave them alone. This is damage control. We are causing trouble and it's being NOTICED. He was asked about our campaign by the Hollywood Reporter at the Emmy's. You can't get anymore noticed than that.
Do not leave them alone. Keep emailing. Keep calling. Keep replying on social media. And keep being loud where people can see it.
At the very least, make it so HBO are actively BEGGING for someone else to pick it up and make us go away.

Alright, we're officially in week two of the renewal campaign now, and they're going to be expecting us to start losing some momentum.
But I have a beautiful vision to show you! Bloys' statement to the Hollywood Reporter yesterday made it sound like he wants to shift focus to shopping OFMD to other streamers. Max looks terrible for canceling OFMD and he knows it. IMAGINE what that could be like, if another streamer saw the passionate fanbase and took OFMD on for its final season! Imagine - the show might get the budget it deserves, longer episodes, more episodes. We could be looking back on the Max cancellation in a couple years and thinking it was the best thing that could've happened for OFMD.
Let's keep the momentum going!
