These were fun, and I really loved the swirly pattern in the leaves. I had some trouble deciding the stamping polish to use (I have a lot of greens because I really like green) but this made a nice contrast both in color and in the finish.

These might be my favorite nails that I have ever done. The green and the purple were great together, the design is simple but striking and the green polish with that gold shine actually looked like it was glowing.
Fun fact, I was at a picnic with the family (so that we could see each other and still be properly socially distanced) and my sister-in-law told me she thought I had an actual bug on my hand for a second before seeing that it was on all my nails. So I'll call that a win.

I am very behind in posting things (not that I'm doing much nail art lately). These, for instance, are from September.
I was a little disappointed in the way these turned out, but I'm not sure what I would do differently in the future. Well, other than not wearing a thermal in the summer. I live in the desert and the only time I ever saw the cold state for these was when I was taking the pictures.

This manicure was a process. I had originally decided not to do nail art, since I had so much going on and I didn't want to devote a few hours from my day off to doing my nails. So I planned to just do one polish on my Friday night and leave it at that. This is also why my cuticles look...not great. I went with the pink since I had been doing darker colors lately and hadn't used pink in a while.
Well it turns out I hate the way this color looks all by itself. It kind of blends into my skin and is both boring and almost muddy with the added elements.
So the next day I figured I could add something extra and maybe it would at least be interesting, and I found that I really like the way it looks with the grey. That becomes the focus and then the pink benefits from its similarity to my skintone, also adding great contrast between the sparkly polish and the flat grey accents. It helped that the greys are all one-coaters, so the process of adding them to the nail did not take too long.
I could see this effect also working well with other "difficult" polishes, since it doesn't create a pattern that will fight with the polish if it is busy and it can add a bit of visual stability to polishes that are all over the place.

I liked this manicure, even though it somehow wasn’t quite what I had intended.  I felt that the green would work for the stamp, as it felt sort of succulent-y to me and they are often a kind of muted green.  But I think the stamp placement made that not work, because the leaves radiate out from several points and run into each all oriented weirdly and that seemed to negate the succulent-ness of it.  I was told that it looked like scales, so I guess that also works.  It was still pretty.

I have been wanting to do this manicure since I first saw the stamping polish.  One of the promo pictures had it over a very dark purple in a similar design and I just fell in love.
I really loved the way these looked, and the great contrast between both the colors and the intensity of the polishes.  The gold/orange color actually shifted to a green at extreme angles, but I had some difficulty capturing that.

So it’s been a while.  Like many people my day-to-day life changed drastically in the last 5 months and I found my self not doing nail art for a while.  I still used nail polish and I took it as an opportunity to wear the polish which was hard to do art with, but I did miss having really fancy nails.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep a weekly schedule going forward because I’m doing a lot more crafts lately, and spending hours on my nails and then more hours to let the topcoat harden so I don’t mess them up leave less time for all the other things I want to do.  I will make sure to post when I do take the time for it, though.
These were even fancier in person, and I had a really hard time getting the polish to show up on camera.  They actually shined intensely pink, but somehow that got lost in every picture I took.  I did like them, even if I felt the base polish let a little too much of natural (very yellowed) nails come through.

Really liked the way this came out, even though it was pretty simple overall.  I’ve discovered in doing my nails for so long that I really like high-impact, high-contrast designs, but sometimes it’s nice to do something simple and mono-chromatic.

I really wanted to like these.  I love both of the colors in this thermal, and I love having a stamp that you can only really see when it’s in one state.  I think, for me at least, the stamp didn’t look geometric, but came off more like...fishnets.  And that is not what I was going for.

I loved these.  The dark background is actually a purplish brown, but it looked black in most lights.  I have found that the combination of a very dark base and some kind shimmery stamp makes both of them more intense, and it’s an effect I really like.

No real plan again, just wanted to use this grey that I had for a long time.  I did find that I had a stamping polish that perfectly matched the purple glitters in the grey, but when I tried stamping it always got just a little to sheer to show the color properly, so I ended up using a stencil.

I wanted to do something bright this week, but didn’t really have a plan, so I just picked some colors and went for it.  I actually like the way it turned out, though the layers got a little thick by the time I was done.
Also: yes, I cut my nails.  Anyone who has been following me for a while has probably seen the issues I’ve had with my nails breaking, and they’ve only recently gotten back to a decent length, so it was an unpleasant decision to make to cut them, but I felt it was necessary for me to make sure that I am thorough in my hand washing.  If you keep your nails long please just make sure you are scrubbing under your fingernails every time you wash your hands (using a nail brush can do this, but you can also use the nails of your other hand) so your hands are entirely clean and you don’t run the risk of spreading anything you may have come in contact with.

I absolutely loved the way these turned out.  The blue is a holographic, but it didn’t have a particularly holo flash to it, so I didn’t bother taking pics in the sunlight.  But it still kind of glowed, so every once in a while I would catch the color out of the corner of my eye and and be slightly startled by how blue it was.

I have to remember when I stamp with black I need to do my cuticles first, or they grab any little bit of the polish that goes out of line and they hold onto it and it is a pain to get them clean without taking off the nail polish entirely.
These were sort of a nice neutral nail for me.  They aren’t my favorite thing I’ve ever done, but I didn’t hate them either.  In fact, every time I saw my nails I had a moment of “Oh, right!  That’s what they look like this week” but I was never mad at it.
