This man does NOT get enough credit
You may not be familiar with who I’m talking about, but his name is Wedge Antilles.
He’s a fighter pilot who is apart of the Red Squadron from the original trilogy. A VERY good fighter pilot and a severely underrated character. I know we don’t see much of him on screen, but this man managed to survive….
The first run on the death star
The Battle of Hoth
AND
The Battle of Endor
These were both three intense, crowded, and adrenaline-rushing battles, so his survival chances were very low. They all both had heavy casualties as well, but our boy Wedge pulled through. The only other person to come close to this feat was Luke Skywalker, but he wasn’t present for the Battle of Endor. But that is impressive. He’s in the ranks of a Jedi and the person who managed to destroy the first Death Star. (Fun Fact: he is also only one of the nine characters that are in each original trilogy film).
But, thanks for listening. :) I just think Wedge just does not get nearly as much credit as he deserves! Maybe we’ll get a solo film or short TV series on him someday about his relationship with our main heroes! But, make sure you show some love for Wedge! And, as always, May the Force be With You :)
