Hubble Touching the Universe http://schedule.sxsw.com/2015/events/event_IAP39935 Sunday, March 15, 2015   5:00-6:00 p.m. CST A panel of experts from NASA and Northrop Grumman will celebrate Hubble's 25th anniversary by showcasing the biggest scientific discoveries and its impact on culture, reveal new capabilities that now make Hubble more powerful than ever to tackle new science challenges, and discuss how we explore beyond Hubble with NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, set to launch in 2018.
Hubble 3-D IMAX Screening On Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. CST, IMAX will provide a complimentary screening of Hubble 3-D at the Bob Bullock IMAX Theatre for members of the public. Following the screening, some of the team behind the Hubble Space Telescope, including Dr. John Grunsfeld, Astronaut and associate administrator of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, will discuss Hubble’s accomplishments in the last 25 years. The Bob Bullock IMAX Theatre is at 1800 N. Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701.

The Northrop Grumman Corporation is highlighting NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope in an exhibit at the SXSW Gaming Expo at the Palmer Events Center March 13-15. Free and open to the public (no badge required).
The Webb Telescope exhibit will feature touch screens to show science visualizations and other videos. Visitors can talk with scientists and engineers who will share how Webb will inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers to push the boundaries of science and technology.
Visit this exhibit during the following dates/times:
Friday, March 13, 2015 from Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 from Noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 from Noon to 8 p.m.

* Dr. Amber Straughn will be giving a talk during South by Southwest in Austin, Texas titled Hubble and Beyond: A Quarter Century of Science & Art from the Hubble Space Telescope.  Free to the public, it will be taking place at 7:30 p.m. March 10 at Art.Science.Gallery, 916 Springdale Road, Building 2 #102, Austin, TX, 78702.

* The Webb and Hubble booth is gone from the Gaming Expo, but NASA is still in town! Badged SXSW Interactive participants can check out the "Experience NASA" exhibit through Wednesday, March 12, at the SXSW Tradeshow in the Austin Convention Center. This exhibit will feature some of NASA’s most exciting missions, including our Mars Rovers, the soon-to-fly Orion space capsule, the Space Launch System, and the Asteroid Grand Challenge, which seeks public participation. NASA will also host a Space Meetup on Monday, March 10 at 4 p.m. where participants can meet fellow space enthusiast – along with NASA staff from multiple programs, missions, and projects – all at the NASA exhibit.
