Gonna rant about Rindo & Frets relationship bc they give me brainworms so
NTWEWY spoilers!!
I actually like how they start as relatively casual friends. They enjoy each others company & obviously know each other but they aren't particularly close. Sure, they may be a bit closer than most casual friends but they aren't really close friends either
Like they are each others favorite friend (at least IRL) but not their best friend. Because, well. Neither of them have any best friends
For example, Fret didn't know about Swallow, who we know Rindo's been friends with for three years or so. Fret would've most likely at least known about Rindo having an online friend if they where so close, but he didn't
Rindo didn't know Fret was mostly putting up a happy-go-lucky act, that it wasn't who he really was. Nor did he know about Frets old friend, which if they where close would've probably come up at least once -even if late into their friendship- given the impact it had on Fret
(This also means they became friends after that ordeal, though that was rather obvious from the get-go)
But my favorite part about their relationship is honestly how they slowly get closer throughout the game. We get to see them diagree and argue, then talk it out and learn to truly trust each other on a personal level. They get to actually know each other as more than just someone that's fun to hang out with sometimes
You don't really see casual/not that close friends slowly get closer in media. Usually it's Strangers To Friends, Seen Around But Never Talked To Friends, or Already Best Friends Getting Even Closer. Usually never Barely Count As Close Getting To Actually Know Each Other. It's honestly refreshing to see
Neither of them where the kind to form close friendships in the beginning, Rindo too closed-off and reluctant speak up, Fret too afraid of sincerity and a repeat of his old friends situation
Which honestly makes the fact they both managed to get closer to not only each other but other people too just incredible
Two people, neither of which cared for close relationships, gaining trust and making a genuine bond with each other despite that

hullo everyone
so uh I was somewhat dissatisfied by neo twewy for a couple of reasons and one of the big reasons was the lack of alternative fashion in the main cast and antagonists, so many of the designs felt so plain or just straight up like business casual and that just didn't sit right with me and so I wanted to redesign the main cast starting with fret based on my own preferences and what I think fits the characters
anyways let's get into it ☆
I wanted to make fret gyaruo or gyaruo inspired since his original design is kind of adjacent to it, anwyas here's my thought process if u want to take a peek in my brain
