the first time you and bokuto met, you guys were ten. you had just moved to tokyo and your mom got a job at the same place bokuto's mom worked. they became friends almost instantly, and once they realized they had children the same age, a play date was set immediately.
contrary to popular belief, you guys didn't get along well at all. bokuto was a stubborn child; he wanted to be outside playing volleyball with his friends, and the idea of having to stay inside to acquaint himself with a little girl that probably didn't know a thing about the sport seemed catastrophic.
he was right after all — you didn't know (or even care) about bokuto's treasured sport, and you were just as fond of being there as he was. you'd give anything to be at home, burying your face in some mangas, or playing piano.
you fought like cats and dogs the first four years after you guys met, both at school and outside of it, since your houses were close and your families were even closer. unfortunately, keeping a distance was just never an option.
the first time you and bokuto had ever gotten along (if you could even call it that), was when you turned fifteen. bokuto was invited to your party by default, as well as everyone in your homeroom class by your mother's request, nevermind the fact that you got along with hardly any of them.
you had just finished helping yours and bokuto's mom in the kitchen with prepping the food, and made your way back to the living room to check on your guests.
you froze in place once you caught them grouping around your piano, realizing that you forgot to put away your piano books.
you've always been big in the arts, but piano was your thing. you liked to think of yourself of a composer of sorts, writing sheet music and occasionally adding a few lyrics.
you would've thought you might have learned from a similar incident a few years ago, when you caught bokuto reading through your sheet music. though he never said anything — never hinted at any emotion at all — you still ended up a sobbing mess.
this however, was very different. they were snickering and laughing, pointing at the lyrics and your 'odd penmanship', trying to make out the words on the paper. you felt the tears swelling up in your eyes already, your hands trembling as you find yourself glued in place.
before you could even blink, a familiar figure's shoving past you into the room, and you watch as bokuto snatches the sheet music from the boy holding them.
he laughs then, snickering at bokuto before looking over at you. "hey, y/n, did you write all this bull—"
there is a fist colliding with his nose in less than half a second.
all the girls shriek and shove at each other as they back away from the commotion, screaming as bokuto scrambles on top of the boy, maintaining the upper hand from the very beginning.
you watch them fight, bokuto sporting a split lip and bruised fists as his mother runs in and yanks him off of the boy, your mother rushing in behind his to assess the situation.
you're utterly confused, even more so once he turns to find your eyes, and the side of his lip quirks up into a lopsided smirk.
later once everyone leaves and situation was managed and dealt with, you find yourself staring once again, as he takes a cotton ball to his bloody lip, and runs his fists under the tap.
once he turns off the water and looks up to address you, you catch sight of that intoxicating smile yet again, and you don't even need to ask anything. bokuto can read the question right off your face.
"can't have anyone else reading songs you wrote about me until you can tell me yourself now, can we?"
Tumblr media
what if i turned this into a short written series, the five years of bokuto and y/n as enemies until this happens and everything changes?

Chocolate
Pairing: Midoriya Izuku x gn! reader, Bakugou Katsuki x gn! reader (not in a poly way this time)
Warning: angst, self-depreciating thoughts, a bit of fluff and confort at the end but still angst.
Synopsis: You and Izuku decided to put an end to your relationship. You talk about it with Bakugou after he surprisingly asked you about it.
A/N: Not much to say. Sorry for the grammar mistakes, I'm trying my best. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
"That's not good for your diet."
"It is for my mood so shut up."
You took an angry slurp for good mesure, making Bakugou glare at you.
"Sugar rush is gonna make your stomach ache so much, don't come at me whining later, brat."
"Don't worry, grandpa, I can take it."
Bakugou rolled his eyes and slouched a bit more on his chair, mumbling about how you will die of diabetes before your forties.
You finished your big, sugary and fat iced chocolate cup in five minutes, almost giving yourself a brain freeze. You could feel the heaveness of it settle in your stomach. It was worth it. At least, it took your thoughts somewhere else.
"So," you began, finally ready to work on your patrol planning.
"You gonna tell why you're so keen to be sick?"
You glanced at your friend, still slouched on his chair, hands tucked in the pockets of his hero costume. He wasn't wearing his mask, never did when he was at the agency, so you could see the full frown on his face.
"What are you talking about?" you asked.
You knew what he was talking about. Of course you knew. You just didn't understand why he wanted to hear about it. Bakugou had never really had an interest in people's lives.
" 'm talking about you and freckled face. He ditched you?"
The word stung. Hard.
"He didn't ditch me," you began carefully. "We just... Decided to stop. Wasn't really working."
Bakugou scoffed: "Yeah, no shit. As if you two could've been a thing anyway."
You clenched your fists under the table, resisting the urge to kick him in the calf or punch him in the face.
But Bakugou Katsuki was observant, very much so. And maybe he felt more than saw how his phrasing had affected you. Something passed in his crimson gaze and he dropped his head a little, eyes never leaving your form.
"That's why I decided to stop," you said tightly. "It was a lost cause since the very beginning but I didn't want to see it until... until now."
You squared your shoulders under Bakugou's piercing gaze: "But that's okay. It's for the best. I was in his way, probably asking and wanting too much. Izuku will be better off without me in his life."
Bakugou stared at you with a scowl: "Bullshit. As if you were too much to handle."
"Well, that's kinda true. You know, it's a lot to... well."
You didn't finish your sentence, not wanting to say the words aloud, to make another truth cut you deep. You weren't angry at Izuku for this situation, really. He was so busy, on his way to become the number one hero in Japan, so so busy with All Might's legacy to handle and everything else... The last thing he wanted was someone anxious that needed reassurance several times a month. He deserved someone who understood him way better, someone who could stand by him without faltering.
You pursed your lips keeping your emotions at bay. Really, it was for the best.
Bakugou slowly blinked, still staring.
"You still love him, don't you?"
His tone was so soft it took you aback. If you hadn't seen his lips move, you would've thought you were imagining things.
And once again... It aches. The truth behind his words, it was harsh.
"Yeah...," you sighed. "Of course I still do. How could I not?"
"Dunno," Bakugou shrugged, straightening up a little, "he wasn't really there at the end of it. Seemed focused on something else. Didn't really start anything. Like, you were always the one to initiate things."
You clenched your fists tighter: "I would never hate someone for that. It would be the easy way, to hate Izuku for this when he was doing his best about me."
You chewed your lips a little when you heard the little wavering in your voice. You would not cry, not anymore. You had done enough of this.
"But you're angry at yourself, right?" Bakugou told. He had changed position, his arms now folded before him on the table, his body leant toward you. "Because you feel you didn't try enough, haven't done enough."
You choked a bit, something between tears and laugh suddenly stuck in your throat. You had never told him anything about it, aware of his relationship with Izuku, not wanting to make things difficult between them. You had always tried your hardest not to involve him in all this and yet, here he was, talking and figuring you out as if he had followed everything.
"How do you--?"
"I can read between the lines, dumbass." There was no heat behind the nickname.. "And Deku talks a lot about you. It's not hard to understand or see some things."
"Yes, but..." you frowned. "Wait... Izuku talked about me?"
Bakugou barked a laugh. As if it was something funny, something to laugh about. As if it was obvious Izuku talked about you.
"All the damn time. Told him to shut up but it was like he couldn't help it. He was so fucking whipped."
It was your turn to scoff. Yeah, right. But it hadn't been enough in the end. The sole thought of it was hurting so much it was almost physical. But it was all in your head.
" 's true," Bakugou insisted. "He was really into you."
"Yeah, well. As I told you, he had something more important, something he had to focus on," you countered. "And honestly, I couldn't... yeah, I couldn't watch him go away and still try to make him look at me when he clearly had his mind elsewhere."
"I got it, princess. I'm not here to judge."
You offered Bakugou a little smile. "I know."
There was a silence. On the table, papers and maps for the patrol planning were completely forgotten. Your motivation was dead for today anyway.
Bakugou must've felt it because he began to put everything away. The sound of papers and folders was the only sound in the room.
After a moment, though, curiosity had its best over you.
"Why were you asking me about it, anyway? I never took you for a guy interested in this kind of thing."
Bakugou didn't answer immediately. He took his time in setting everything away properly. If you hadn't known him, you could've thought he was buying some time. You expected something brash and honest like before but it never came.
Instead, he gave you words you weren't expecting at all.
" 'm worried about you, princess."
His voice was calm and steady, so different from the storm raging in his scarlet eyes. You couldn't help but notice that the nickname, usually a bit derogatory, was definitely not this time. Like there was another meaning, another truth behind it.
You tried to regain your composure with a laugh: "Aw, Pro Hero Dynamight, you're so sweet!"
Bakugou was too far for you to ruffle his hair. Maybe it was for the best. Judging by his sour face, you wouldn't have survived.
"I'm serious, dumbass." Ah. He had downgraded you. Fair. "I don't like seeing you like this. Thinking shit about yourself and all."
"I'm gonna be okay" you said, still smiling, trying to conceal how important this affirmation was for you right now.
Bakugou smiled back: "I know. You're strong. Still, 'm here if ya need anything."
"Thank you, Bakugou. And... Sorry."
He tsked: "What are you sorry for, dumbass? You did nothing wrong."
"Yes, no, I mean... Sorry for... Well, it puts you in an awkward position, doesn't it? I'm sorry for that."
Bakugou rolled his eyes and it made you felt like you had said something utterly stupid.
"It's not awkward," he replied. "At least, now I can chase you properly."
You froze, something dropping in your stomach. What?
What?
"What?" you croaked.
Bakugou grinned, all proud and smug now.
"I've been holding back for months, princess, out of respect for shitty nerd and you. But now? I'm gonna go all out."
You stood very, very still because he wasn't... Bakugou Katsuki, king of "I don't give a shit about extra", couldn't be saying what you thought he was saying.
He couldn't, right?
In three careful steps, Bakugou closed the distance between you two and took the folder you were clenching from your hands. He put it gently on the table and raised his other hand slowly, crimson eyes never leaving your face. You realized he was giving you an opening, a chance to step away. But you were still processing, trying not to interpret too much and to understand what he was implying exactly.
Slowly, very slowly, Bakugou brushed a strand of your hair behind you ear, assessing your reaction. He still had that shitty grin on his face, the one that was so infuriating because you knew, you fucking knew he was proud of himself at this moment.
He deserved a punch in the face for that.
"Let's go eat, princess. I bet you had nothing but sugar in your system for the past week."
Well, he wasn't wrong but he didn't have to call you out like this.
"I ate rice yesterday," you protested weakly.
"Ha, that's not a meal." He took his bag and made his way to the vestiaire. "Gimme fifteen minutes to take a shower and change and I'm gonna take you to the best restaurant of the neighborhood, alright?"
You nodded and Bakugou grinned one last time before disappearing. You let yourself fall on your chair, eyes wide and heart pounding.
Fuck.
Tumblr media
A/N: the end is a bit abrupt but I'm planning a part 2. One reblog = one full minute of flirting with Bakugou.

Deku: At least we have the element of surprise
Todoroki: Exactly, not even we know what we’re doing
Deku: I know what I’m doing, and that’s waiting for the signal
Todoroki: Are you sure it was a good idea to let Bakugo and Reader handle the signal?
Deku: Of course, I trust them completely
Todoroki: ….what even is the signal?
Deku: We’ll know it when we see it
[Building explodes and topples to the ground in a cloud of smoke]
Deku: THAT’S THE SIGNAL MOVE MOVE

THE BOY NEXT DOOR  「09. UNEXPECTED」
Tumblr media Tumblr media
『MASTERLIST』  « PREV • NXT »  (NEXT WEEK)
Tumblr media
𐑂 1.9k+ words     𐑂 Your new neighbor, Miya Atsumu, is everything you’ll never ask for. With his annoying good looks and equally irritating charm, how can you not resist the boy next door?     𐑂 neighbors, humor, enemies to lovers, fake dating, friends to lovers
Tumblr media
“You don’t have to go, if you don’t want to, Y/N.” Your best friend told you over the phone while you tended on your garbage bag.
“Yeah, they’re just using the excursion to have a date with their significant others and, even worse, to boast their rich boyfriends.” You rolled your eyes, recalling how Nako would use every situation to brag every designer bag her boyfriend would get for her.
“Just file it as a leave, okay? I have siblings. I can call one of them to come over and pick me up from the airport.”
Today was the day you had to decide on whether you’d come to the company excursion and yet your first choice was to bail out. You sighed and headed out of your apartment, dragging with you the rubbish you had for disposal.

a fluffy coffee shop au w barista!kuroo please :)
Tumblr media
Since you discovered the small coffee shop at the end of your street you were not only smitten by the raven haired barista, but also taken aback by the cozy atmosphere. It was exactly what you needed after a long day of work, some gentle lofi beats mixed with the scent of oakwood and coffee. A pure bliss to your senses and so calming to your nerves that soon enough you became one of Kuroos most frequent costumers.
"You spend an unhealthy amout of money on my coffee", the man once said, to which you simply replied with "It's the only thing that keeps me sane", and a shy smile on your face.
The barista always had this boyish smirk on his face, even on this one friday evening when there was a storm outside and you came in soaked.
He was suprised seeing you in his shop. Kuroo was about to close, figuring that no one would come by because of the awful weather, but there you were, jacket sticking to your arms and a expression on your face that said "What a day."
"Don't say anything", he chuckled, with his signature smirk on his face as he began to prepare your favorite coffee while eventually taking a sip of his own.
Most of the chairs were already put on the tables, you didn't even notice when you first entered. Kuroo watched you looking around and as you opened your mouth to offerhe shook his head "You wanna join me for dinner? My flat's above the shop."
This time there was a timid glint in his eyes while the tip of his ears turned into a deep red. You couldn't help but smile, a fuzzy feeling inside of you warming you up despite being so terribly cold from the rain outside.
"I'd love that."

request: “You look really cute in that sweater.” for Kenma
Tumblr media
You were gaming on the console in the living room as Kenma slowly made its way through said room to the kitchen. He was planning to grab a new energy drink and maybe grab a snack before continuing to stream. As his eyes roamed through the fridge, searching for his sugary drink, you let out a small victory yell.
“Take this, trashcan!”, you laughed at the TV, grinning over the boss that you finally defeated.
Curiously Kenma leaned back, closing the fridge and watching you celebrating your small victory. He’s smiling as he made his way back through the living room.
“You look really cute in that sweater”, he said, with that smile on his lips that made your hearth flutter.
Flabbergasted you watched him moving back to his streaming room, mouth agape. What did he just say?
“No, Kenma! Don’t leave!”
“Gotta stream, chat is waiting”, he said, still smiling.
