For all of his confidence, Marius is quite flustered whenever he receives genuine praise and compliments from you. He's grown accustomed to the playful back-and-forth of conversation between the two of you. Whenever you stop the antics to cheer him on or to rave about something, Marius can't help but widen his eyes and be at a loss for words. He'll quickly regain his footing (he wouldn't be Marius von Hagen if he didn't, after all) and send a flirty wink back. He just hopes that the slight flush of his cheeks and rapid beating of his heart don't give away the way you have him wrapped around your finger.
"Getting soft on me already? I always knew you liked me back, jiejie."

With nearly the entire world within his purchasing capability, Marius is well-aware that he can get you nearly anything you want. Therefore, he finds meaning not in the expensive gifts, but rather gifts that come from the heart. He'd never quite tell you just how much it means to him when you enjoy something crafted through his blood, sweat, and tears in comparison to something he can obtain through the swipe of a credit card. There's a difference between the two in the skipping of his heart, but he can also see a different appreciation for the two types of gifts in your eyes.
While lavish store-bought goods usually leave you rolling your eyes and flustered, nothing truly excites you like receiving an authentic gift from him. Because of this, his favorite gift is one he created for you. Your first date was spent in an upscale restaurant, secluded from prying eyes on the balcony Marius rented out solely for the two of you. The favorite gift of his doesn't come until a year later, in which he chose to paint the scenery of the date location just for you. The oil canvas painting is one he presents to you with lightly flushed cheeks, only to end up fixated on your own expression as you unveil the gift.
When you gently set the painting down and wrap your arms around his shoulders, pulling him in for a thankful and passionate kiss, Marius bites back a relieved laugh. What was he so worried for? He wonders, relaxing in your gentle embrace. His hands find purchase on your waist, carefully holding you close as you remind him just how much he adores you in your genuineness.

Marius kisses you as if his life depends on it. He's never the type for soft kisses except in uncharacteristic moments of vulnerability. In his typical bouts of his ego, Marius enjoys the theatrics of kissing in the rain or even going as far as to dip you down, holding you close and pressing his lips to yours. But, life isn't always fit for such bold actions, so Marius settles with conveying his passion through deep and meaningful kisses. His favorite is to cradle your face with one of his hands, enjoying the feeling of the gentle skin against his palm. As long as one of his hands is on your face, Marius is more than satisfied. The other may wander along the expanse of your back or reach behind you for added support, but they never stray too far from you. He has a tendency for wandering hands, but he's smart enough to know that you'll break the kiss and pout at him if his hands wander too far down.
Marius kisses you with one intention: to leave you breathlessly and utterly in love, in the same way you leave him, even if he may not entirely reveal it.

a/n: friendly reminder that i dont know luke that well yet. i got 3 new cards for him yesterday, surprisingly ! (rng luck blessed me) so i should be more accurate in my portrayal of him in a few days.

one word: overthinker
he’s unfamiliar with the feeling of butterflies that erupt in his stomach at the thought of you.
initial seeds of doubts as to if he is good enough for you plant themselves in his mind. even the youngest senior attorney in the country worries about his own flaws and shortcomings, not realizing that it's hard to beat artem wing in terms of respectable, kind people to date.
but, when he sets his mind on something, artem isn't one to back down easily. so, despite the way his hands tremble at the thought of holding yours, he carries onwards.
like a dork (affectionate), artem studies how to woo someone. the book celestine gifts him is finally put to good use. he just prays that you don't catch him reading it.
his favorite thing to do is to gift you flowers <3 he even goes as far as to study the flower meanings, even if he's pretty sure you're not reading that much into them. he's not one to half-ass his flirtations.
artem struggles with the smooth flirtations that the others might find themselves easily participating in. he likes to show you how you make him feel rather than tell you, but often experiences periods of self-doubt when it comes to this. what if you think he's just being a good friend? he wouldn't mind being just your friend... he just wants his intentions to be clear, that's all.
he'll also 100% cook for you. he's not an expert chef by any means, but the way your expression lights up whenever he gifts you a bento box for lunch has his heart beating fast for hours after.
when celestine spots you eating out of a container that radiates Distinctly Artem Energy and notices the way artem can't stop smiling softly to himself the rest of the day, she nearly squeals with delight.
artem forgets to retrieve the reusable container from you at the end of the day, but when you return it to him the next day, announcing that you washed it yourself and "left a surprise" in it, artem can't help but be a bit flustered as you happily prance out of his office before he can open it.
when he lifts up the lid, the sight of homemade chocolate chip cookies greets him and artem's face flushes a bright red. goodness, you're going to be the death of him.

luke is hesitant. if you have a crush on him, you'll have to pursue him first.
with only three years left to live, luke would much rather spare you the pain of mourning you as a lover, so he keeps you at an arm's length. you're more or less going to have to heavily chase after him.
nonetheless, he can't help but indulge some of the infatuated whims and ideas that pop into his head.
he likes taking pictures of you! not in a creepy way, of course, but in a way that he hopes he can gift you all of the images one day.
he also really just... enjoys spending time with you. after so long apart, luke loves remembering all of your old idiosyncrasies and discovering all of your new ones.
he really wants to hold your hand, but he has to remind himself not to make a move.
but, when you start reciprocating his feelings, luke is at a crossroads. does he decide what's good for you and push you away or does he let you make this decision for yourself? he's struggling a bit to choose.
if he has a crush on you, he's surprisingly easy to fluster. just rest your head on his shoulder if the two of you are watching tv or a movie together and you can feel him stiffen up beneath you as his face turns bright red.
even if you just ruffle his hair or bump elbows with him, the small amount of physical contact leaves him reeling and he swears he can feel the ghost of your touch for hours after.
he wants nothing more than to dive right into you, yet logic always pulls him back.
so, ultimately, what does luke do when he has a crush? he pines. he longs incredibly hard for you, but refuses to cross that line between friendship and love until he can find the courage to inform you of his undeniable fate.

marius is already a natural flirt. c'mon, how could he not be? he's rich and attractive and, despite his best attempts to stay humble, he knows that he's a top choice for most people.
but, when he gets a crush, it's probably because you don't treat him like most people. you're not afraid to engage in banter with him and also stick up for what you believe in.
in a world where most people are willing to cave to his whims just because he's one of the heirs to the pax group, marius finds it utterly refreshing. so, what does he proceed to do? he falls in love with you, of course!
he has a sketchbook filled with doodles of you. it wasn't intentional and he hopes you don't find it in fear that you'll tease him for it, but when he thinks of a muse for his artwork, his mind always seems to move towards you.
even if marius doesn't show off through the sketchbook, he'll show off in other ways. his goal is to fluster you in the same way you secretly fluster him. if you're shorter than him, he's taking full advantage of it and teasing you incessantly about it, never failing to remind you of the height difference between the two of you. if you're taller, well... marius doesn't poke at that unless if he's the one that wants to end up flustered.
loves to throw gifts at you, but makes sure that they're gifts with purpose. oh, you've been complaining about your work bag being too uncomfortable or not being able to hold enough? here's a new one, custom made of fancy imported materials. he wants the gifts to not just end up being trophies, but rather for them to end up being useful to you.
but, of all three guys here, he definitely flirts with words the most. he has zero qualms about calling you pretty or using flirtatious terms like prince/princess/sweetheart/darling. everything he says is in hopes of getting a flustered rise out of you. never fails to shower you in compliments doused in saccharine flirtations, especially when you show up wearing something he gifted you.
the time isn't quite right yet to confess how much he cares for you. the world always has eyes on him and marius isn't sure if it's fair to sweep you up in that yet. and yet... he wants nothing more than to eventually claim the spot on your left ring finger as his one day.
is it a bit preemptive? sure. but for marius, he's never quite met someone like you and is fairly certain that no one will ever be able to hold the vicelike grip that you currently have around his heart again.
so, until that day, he sticks with brazen displays of affection, leaving you waiting on the edge of your seat as to when he'll finally bite the bullet and ask you out.

you arrive at the antique shop not even fifteen minutes later, quickly making your way to the back and walking up to the third floor. normally, luke would greet you at the first floor entrance, yet today, you’ve been expected to escort yourself. what the hell is the surprise? you think as you knock on the apartment door. the electronic doorbell comes to life and you hear luke’s voice shout that he’s on his way and to give him a second.
a few seconds later, a slightly disheveled looking luke swings open the door with a relieved smile.
“you’re here!” he says excitedly before ushering you inside. before you can speak, luke presses a quick kiss to your lips and grins at you.
“ready for the surprise?” he asks eagerly. if he had a tail, it would almost certainly be wagging. his enthusiasm is infectious.
“good morning to you too, sweetheart.” you say with a laugh, taken slightly aback by his hurried greetings. nonetheless, you nod at luke, giving him the answer he wants. luke excitedly takes your hand in his own and pulls you into his bedroom.
“ta-dah!” he says triumphantly as he swings open the door to the bedroom. your boyfriend looks awfully proud of himself and yet... there’s nothing to be seen. what’s the surprise? his every day bedroom? or is it some new gadget he made that you have to discover for yourself..?
“uh, babe,” you say, glancing over at him. “what... is the surprise?”
snapped out of his stupor, luke’s eyes widen and he blinks around wildly.
“huh?! where did she go?!” luke says frantically. she? you ask yourself, utterly confused. the surprise is a person?
a soft meow interrupts the two of you, coming from underneath one of luke’s pillows. luke glances over at you just to see an instinctive grin spread across your face and watches as your eyes widen with delight. like a child on their birthday, you eagerly dart over to the bed to discover your surprise, lifting up the pillow to be met with the tiny, furry face of a kitten.
“you got a cat?!?!?!” you squeal, turning to look at luke. a faint blush covers his cheeks as you pick the kitten up gently and cradle them in your arms after letting her sniff you.
“actually, one of my clients had some stray kittens appear in their yard. they needed a home for them and, well, this one came home with me. but, she’s not for me.” luke says, watching your expression turn to a pout at his words.
“you’re not keeping her? she’s so cute though!” you say, cradling the cat in one arm and letting her gnaw at your index finger of your other hand.
“did you forget i called you over for a surprise?” luke says with a laugh. “she’s for you! you’ve talked about how you wanted a cat, so i figured ‘why not?’.”
“oh... for me..?” you say quietly, glancing between luke and the cat. “thank you! she’s the cutest!”
luke walks over to the two of you and leans in, placing a kiss on your temple.
“just don’t forget about me while you’re giving her all your attention.” luke says jokingly and you look over at him and tilt your head.
“huh? who are you again?” you ask jokingly and luke pouts. however, you appease him with a kiss, but not before leaning down and placing a gentle kiss to the forehead of your new kitten.

a/n: doting artem my beloved <3
it’s a peculiar feeling for the lawyer to take care of someone else. he’s had his own fair share of interactions with children and, based on the way kids seem to want to cling to the neatly pressed pant legs of his suit, artem doesn’t believe himself to be too bad at taking care of those half his height. but you? you’re different. your his first in many things. his first kiss, his first lover, and his first true adventure, but in this moment, you establish yourself as another first: his first patient.
artem had slipped out of bed before you this past morning, in which you had stirred at his actions and insisted on getting up with him as well, despite not needing to go to work for another two hours. you had sleepily brewed the tea for the two of you while artem had gotten ready for work and, as he stopped by the kitchen to take his drink to go and give you your rightful morning kiss, everything had seemed fine. the two of you had agreed to meet up for lunch and now, as artem sits at his desk at 11:47 am, he feels a sense of dread. it’s his third time calling you, yet you haven’t picked up the phone. surely, if something had happened to you on your way into work, he would have heard something by now from someone, whether it be an employer or a friend or even you yourself.
as artem enters your voicemail for the third time, he hastily swipes to a function of his phone that the two of you just recently enabled: shared locations. he looks at the map to see your location and, much to his surprise, the app says that you’re still at your shared residence. artem blinks slowly, as if trying to process what this could mean. did you go back home? did you even leave? did something happen after he left? worried thoughts bounce through his mind, yet the lawyer does what he does best by remaining calm and composed. artem snaps out of his haze as your picture fills his phone screen and the ringtone unique to you begins to play throughout his private office. before the first ring finishes, artem scoops the phone up to his ear and presses the accept button.
“sweetheart,” artem breathes before you can speak. “are you alright?”
a half-hearted laugh erupts from your side of the phone before you break out into a series of harsh coughs.
“i’m safe, i’m just sick,” you say with a sigh. “i called out of work because i have a fever. i don’t think my boss would let me come in now even if i insisted on it. sorry for not picking up, i fell asleep after taking some medicine.”
artem pauses and his silence fills the call between the two of you. he hadn’t seen you much this morning, having been in a hurry to get to work. had he overlooked such symptoms earlier?
“i will head home now, then. stay in bed and rest.” artem says and he can hear your immediate indignant huff.
“artem, do not take off work to come home, i promise you i am f-“ you begin, but artem knows you well. you won’t compromise on this and neither will he. so, he does the best possible option: he hangs up on you. it pains him a bit, but less time arguing means he can return home to you faster.
artem puts his ringer on silent as you immediately call him again and spam him with angry emojis. work can be done from home, after all, and celestine is more than understanding (or, at least she should be with how much she pestered him to marry you, as if he hadn’t been planning on it since your first date).
when he arrives home, a loud groan of frustration echoes through the room and artem holds back a laugh of amusement at your theatrics. you sit up on the couch and look at him with a scowl, to which he responds to with a gentle smile.
“hello, darling,” he greets as if he hadn’t disobeyed your command. “are you feeling better?”
“just peachy,” you snap. “but i’d feel better if my lovely husband stayed at work and did the job he loves so much.”
“i much prefer the duties of being your husband to the duties of the law, although they both provide different benefits.” artem says as he hangs up his suit jacket and loosens his tie before walking over to you. you flop your back onto the couch petulantly, laying flat on the couch, and turn away from artem with a huff. in your sickness, it’s hard to hold much of a grudge against your lover, especially when the back of his hand drapes itself across your forehead as he checks your temperature. instinctively, your eyes flutter closed and you breathe a sigh of relief at the cool feeling of his skin upon yours.
“what was your last temperature?” artem asks in a softer voice, almost a murmur in volume.
“still feverish, but not bad enough for a hospital,” you grumble. artem moves to pull his hand away, but your eyes fly open and you lightly tug on his hand in a silent plea for him to stay close to you. he lets out a quiet huff of amusement.
“i only wish to get you a glass of water, i will be back shortly. have you eaten anything today?” he asks before moving to pad quietly into the kitchen. when he hears a grumble in response, artem assumes by the tone that you said no. at the height of your sickness, food won’t likely seem appealing, yet it is essential to keep the body energized and filled with nutrients in order to combat illness. so, artem opens up the pantry and gets to work on making you a simple congee to eat once you’re ready.
not too long later, artem returns to you quietly and your eyes flutter open. a lazy smile appears on your face as you look up at him. in his hands rests a tray with a bowl of congee and a glass of water, along with apple slices should you prefer fruits instead of the broth-laden meal. he sets the tray down on the coffee table next to you before looking down at you with a furrowed brow.
“do you want to move to the bedroom?” he asks. “the couch doesn’t seem very comfortable for you in this state.”
you shake your head. “i’m only here because i was waiting for you. but it’s comfy, don’t worry.”
artem falls quiet at your words and, if you were feeling better, you would have laughed at the blush that appears on his cheeks. despite being married, artem is easily riled up by simple and honest flirtations, like a flustered schoolboy.
“would you like a blanket?” he asks, desperate to change the subject from your kind words towards him. in your fatigued state, you let him and nod a positive affirmation to his question. artem takes the closest blanket and drapes it over you before stepping back and glancing at the food.
“hey,” you groan and artem immediately glances over at you, only to see you pouting once more. “you didn’t tuck me in.”
artem stares at you. “i didn’t know you wanted to be.”
“it just sounds nice right now.” you confess and that’s all artem needs to convince him to gently tuck you in. you look at him expectantly and the lawyer knows just what you’re waiting for and rewards you with a kiss on your forehead.
“‘m tired,” you grumble as artem settles down in the lounge chair next to you and opening his laptop to work. he glances over at you.
“rest, then. the food can always be reheated later and i’ll be here if you need anything.” artem reassures you, which is all the convincing you need to let your heavy eyelids close. perhaps you didn’t mind artem arriving home from work early. but, before you fall asleep, you extend your hand over the arm of the couch and hold it out to him, adoring the way his hand immediately finds its way to yours and gently holds your own. moments later, you feel lips brush against your knuckles and, with a soft smile on your face, you fall asleep.
when you awake many hours later, your fever has broken, yet other symptoms still linger. you’re getting better, you think to yourself. you glance over to where artem sat next to you, only to see him cover his mouth instinctively as he coughs for the first time. dread sets in and you look at him apologetically as he sheepishly glances at you to see if he woke you up. at least the two of you can be sick together, right?
