Lateef Ah Ganie elected President of Traders Association Langate

Langate, July 22: After a day-long voting period for the presidential election, Lateef Ah Ganie was elected as the new president of the Traders Association of Langate.
On Sunday , 298 voters, out of the 280 traders who cast their votes in which Lateef Ah Ganie takes 118 votes, while his opponents Ab Majeed takes 82 and Bashir Ah received 76 votes, respectively.
It is a great honour for me that the traders of Langate elected me a president .
Lateef Ah Ganie stated in a statement to the media.
He said that i would continue to work for the growth of traders as he had in the past and that he would meet both trader and trade body aspirations.
MC Chairman Langate Adv Shahnawaz Abdullaha, Treaders Federation Handwara President Sofi Aijaz Main Tehsildar Langate, President Transport Association Langate Mohd Ashraf along civil society participants, business owners, and other residents all expressed their congratulations to Ganie for winning this election.

Kupwara District Volleyball Association elects’ new office bearers in unanimous election

Kupwara , July 16: In a recent election held for the Kupwara District Volleyball Association, dignitaries and officials were welcomed to witness the democratic process unfold. Kuldeep Magotra, the Chief Executive Officer of the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK), served as the returning officer, while observers included Sh. Ramesh Sharma, the treasurer of VAJK, and Mohd Tariq, the Joint Secretary of VAJK.
Under the diligent supervision of Kuldeep Magotra, the election proceeded smoothly, culminating in the unanimous selection of office bearers for the next term from 2023 to 2027. Ab Hamid Malik emerged as the newly elected president, with Shabir Ahmad Khan securing the position of secretary.
Expressing his congratulations, Kuldeep Magotra, CEO of VAJK and the returning officer, commended the newly elected office bearers of the Kupwara District Volleyball Association on their successful election.

Handwara 13 July 2023: Minister of State and Chairperson J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today addressed a mega public rally of Bhartiya Janata Party at Langate in North Kashmir which was attended by a huge gathering from the area. Local BJP leader & Vice President of Langate Municipal Committee Jameel Ahmad Rather was also present. Dr Andrabi was accorded a rousing welcome by the people when she reached the Langate Park at the site of the rally. Welcoming Andrabi, Jameel Rather in his speech said that she was the first leader in the contemporary political scenario of Kashmir who unconditionally resolves issues of the public without amy discrimination. In her address BJP National Executive Member & Waqf Board Chairperson said that after the implementation of Prime Minister's vision for J&K three years ago, peace, prosperity and development have become the key issues of our government. "Whole world has recognised the constitutional changes in J&K, but political exploiters are feeling acute pain and as a result they roam around making senseless statements. New changed J&K is in the process of peace, development and prosperity", said Andrabi. She said that she had succeded in fulfilling the public demands submitted to her by the local leadership a few months ago. Dr Andrabi spoke about her fulfilled promises of establishment of a Fire & Emergency Services facility, bridge construction and her successful efforts for Degree College at Handwara. "Our politics is always the public service with honesty and we are committed to serve the people with utmost transparently. People have started actively associating themselves with the developmental and welfare programmes of the government and with the cooperation of all, BJP is slowly encroaching upon the false political domains of the dynasts", said Andrabi. She assured people about her servives to the common man. Reacting to the surprising behaviour of some government employees who made all very sad.
Dr Andrabi later chaired a meeting of the representatives of the government departments and discussed public related issues with them and streesed upon the need to resolve the genuine issues of the public on priority basis.

Handwara 10 July 2023: District Development Council Member Nutnusaa Adv Zahoor Ah Magray , on Monday inaugurated the work on Check Nutnussa Water Supply Scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The DDC was accompanied by XEN Jal Shakti department Handwara Bilal Ahmad, AEE Ramhal Zahoor Ah Lone, JE Concerned Mohd Ashraf , local PRIs and general public of the area.
It is supposed that the said Water supply scheme Check Nutnusaa is bieng constructed/Established at an estimated cost of Rs 311.00 Lac and shall cater the water requirement of Check Nutnusaa B
The source of the WSS is Production well near Check Nutnusaa.
The water supply scheme has different components civil (Pump house, chain link fencing, Sluice chambere, 0.5 lac G service reservoirs, ) and laying and fitting of the pipes for gravity main and distribution system which shall provide 3000 Souls.
The WSS is expected to be completed during the current financial year 2023-24 and on its accomplishment water shall be provided quantitatively and qualitatively to the public under scope.

KUPWARA, 10 July : District Development Member Drugmulla (DDC) , Advocate Aamina Malik today inaugurated macadamization work on Bramri Main Road.
On the occasion, the DDC Member expressed gratitude towards LG Administration and District Administration Kupwara for ensuring equitable development of far flung areas . She also appreciated the efforts of R&B department including Chief Engineer, SE, Ex Executive Engineer, New Exn, AEE, JE and supporting staff for expediting the macadamization work before the onset of winter.
DDC Drugmulla stressed upon the officers to ensure complete macadamization of roads by 25th of this month which shall provide a great relief to the commuters of Drugmulla constituency.
Ex. Engineer R&B Kupwara Farooq Ah Purzgae, AEE R&B Imran Ah Bacha, JE Yasir Ali Qureshi,Works Supervisor Farooq Ah Chopan, National Infra Construction Agency headed by Site Incharge Er Waseem Aijaz Khan and Er Lateef Ah Lone other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Locals, PRIs also expressed gratitude towards DDC Drugmulla Advocate Aamina Malik who works day & Night for the betterment of Constituency.
The works include blacktopping of 700 Mtr Main road National Highway to Bramri Panchayat.
The total cost of works is estimated at Rs 35 lakh approximately.

Handwara 04 July 2023:  District Development Council Member Ramhal Adv Ulfat Mushtaq on Tuesday  inaugurated the work on Chermundi Pazalpora Water Supply Scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The DDC was accompanied by  XEN Jal Shakti department Handwara Bilal Ahmad, AEE Ramhal Zahoor Ah Lone, JE Concerned  Syed Iftikhar , local PRIs and general public of the area.
It is supposed that the said Water supply scheme Chermundi   Pazalpora is bieng constructed/Established at an estimated cost of Rs  132.00 Lac and shall cater  the water requirement of Chermundi, Pazalpora and Ganie Mohalla, hamlets  of Chermundi Pazalpora. 
The source of the WSS is Borwell near Chermundi.

Handwara 27 June :- Ab Majid Wani who was working as IG Head Draftsman in Department of Public Health Engeenering supperanuated from his services. Abdul Majid , a resident of Pahaldaji A/P Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara was posted as IG Head Draftsman, PHE Division Handwara at the time of his retirement.
Besides he served the department in different capacities and earned popularity in public for his humble and pro-people role.The senior officials and colleagues at the occasion wishes him best of luck for his post-retirement life and prayed for his good health.Majid at the occasion thanked senior officers and subordinates for their whole hearted support during the service.

Miss Ayushi Sudan, a dynamic and accomplished civil servant, recently assumed her new role as DC Kupwara. Dr. Tej Partap, Former Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K visited Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura Campus on 26th June 2023. Dr. Partap is an internationally renowned policy and strategy expert of mountain farming affairs, mountain agriculture and organic agriculture development strategies.  He is currently serving as Chairman of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) committee set up for the implementation of NEP-2020 in agricultural universities and heads the 6th Deans Committee for modification of farm education curriculums as per the new education policy. A breakthrough leader, Prof. Partap carries with him a long experience of institutional leadership at national and international level particularly as Vice Chancellor of CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, Palampur for two terms; Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology-Kashmir ; G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar and APG Shimla University, Shimla for one term each. At international level, he served as Programme Leader at Mountain Agriculture Division, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, Kathmandu. Dr. Tej Partap delivered a special lecture on “Motivational cum Mentoring Session” at the Conference Hall of Faculty. All the Heads of divisions, Scientists and more than 50 UG/PG students attended the lecture. The lecture was organized by the Career Counseling & Placement Cell (CC&PC) Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura under World Bank-ICAR funded National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) for the institutional development of SKUAST-K. In his lecture, Dr. Partap discussed some of the key challenges facing Indian agriculture today include, small and fragmented landholdings, climate change, lack of agricultural marketing and remunerative income. Despite the myriad of problems that farmers face, there are a number of ways that farmers can avoid or at least minimize their impact. While technology is an obvious one, there are also solutions which are already available to the farmer. Some are: Organization of Farmer Clubs, Introduction of modern farming technology, increasing trends of crop diversification towards horticulture & cash crops, diversifying and expanding the area of niche crops, organic farming for safer inputs to produce safer foods in order to maintain health of ecosystem. He emphasized on the scientists to prioritize their research methodologies on emerging trends of food safety, habitat engineering, nanotechnology and submit multi-disciplinary research projects. Dr. Partap advised the students to keep overcoming all the challenges, converting adversities into opportunities and motivate other students to focus on outcome based education and come up with Research based technologies. He also advised students to create positive mindset. If you start thinking positively then automatically positive vibes start attracting you. Adding that positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve health. Prof. Raihana H. Kanth, Dean Faculty of Agriculture presented the vote of thanks.

Handwara : The AYUSH department in collaboration with NSS units and NCC wing of Government Degree College Handwara observed the International Yoga Day with extraordinary zeal and enthusiasm here on Wednesday.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including college faculty members, Yoga experts associated with AYUSH Handwara, President Municipal Committee Handwara Bashir Ahmad Khan and representatives of Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools Handwara.
Sleet Shah, Deputy Superintendent Police Handwara, also graced the occasion with her presence. She appreciated the efforts of the college and AYUSH administration for promoting meditation, mindfulness, and mental health awareness in general, and Yoga in particular.
Speaking on the occasion, “She highlighted the significance of yoga as a holistic practice that promotes overall well-being and stressed the importance of incorporating it into daily life for a healthier and balanced lifestyle.”
Following the inaugural ceremony, an experienced yoga instructor led a collective yoga session, guiding participants through a series of yoga postures and breathing exercises. The atmosphere was filled with positive energy as the participants gracefully moved from one posture to another, focusing on their breath and finding inner balance.
The principal of the college, Prof Dilruba Rasool Hamdani, expressed gratitude to the Ayush organizers, staff, and participants of the event and pledged to prioritize the meditation and mental health of all stakeholders. She highlighted how Yoga, an indigenous meditation practice, has been globally accepted for fostering mental clarity, attentiveness, and tranquility.

State Chairman  JKTF demanded to introduce moral education as a compulsory subject in the curriculum of school education.
Khan also appreciated the role of teachers forum leaders in shaping the society and appealed them to be united to fight any eventuality on community.

More than 200 participants including scholars and educationists from  Kupwara,Baramulla, Handwara,Pulwama, joined the conference
Mohd Amin Khan on the occasion said that the students are the future of the nation, who need good value based education to prove themselves in different walks of life.
He said that they have gone through tough times due to the pandemic crisis last year which impaired their effective learning process.
On the occasion speakers hailed the contribution and efforts of Gh Mouhidin Bhat,Ferooza ji and Mohd Ashraf as Teacher, administrator and as an educationist. Teachers Forum UT chairman for J&K Mohammad Amin khan while hailing the contributions and advised all the stakeholders of education department to join hands for quality education of the students and to unite against the corruption.
District President Kupwara JKTF Mehraj U Din Zarger also hailed the contribution of the retiring officer and appreciated the efforts of Teachers Forum who organised such type of conference. Many principals, ZEOs and other dignitaries attended the function. 
At last Newly elected president Mehrajudin Zargar assured the chairman for making the organization strong at gross root level and will work day in and day out for the betterment of students as well as teachers community.
On this occasion Altaf Hussain Dar a renowned Pedagogue has been nominated  as President EJAC for Kupwara and Ab Qayoom Mur Nominated as Provisional Organiser of JKTF.

Handwara Administration Starts massive Macadamization of Roads.

Handwara 10 June 2023: Sub District administration Handwara starts massive  macadamization of Roads in Tehsil Dragmulla area Specifically Marbal Colony to Shalpora Waterkhani main road   has been macdamised by R&B DIV Handwara  under Nabard which is a seigh of relief for the people. 
 This road has been black topped for a carriageway of 75mm Wet/ 50mm BM and 25 MM SD. The residents of marbal colony and Waterkhnai are very much thankful to the district administration Kupwara and sub district administration Handwara.
Meanwhile residents of area are highly thankful to R&B Division Handwara  especially Exn Suhail Ahmad ,AEE Hussian Sab, Concerned JE Bashir Ahamd, AE Zubair ul islam,Supervisior Manzoor Ahamd and Employees of  Shaan Construction Agency  headed by Saleem Andrabi along Site Incharge Sharief Ahmad khan ,who left no stone unturned for the completion of this project. 
The locals of the area lauded the initiative saying that it solves many of their problems, one of them being accidents on the road due to potholes. 
People had a lot of troubles, there were accidents taking place here every now and then. We appreciate the work being done," said DDC Dragmulla Adv Aamina.

Drugs Are The Enemies Of Ambition And Hope And When We Fight Against Drugs, We Are Fighting For The Future
Anti-drug awareness drive is an effective way to keep the society drug free. It is important to make the people aware about the harmful effects of drugs on their health, body and mind.
With an aim to spread awareness about drug addiction and its ill effects, *Indian Army in collaboration with Widows, Orphan & Handicapped People's Trust NGO*, conducted a drug awareness campaign at *Govt Boys High school, Magam* wherein various events were organised by school students, which included skits, group songs, speech and group dance. These events primarily focussed upon ill effects of drugs on our society and how collectively we can eradicate this social menace.
Prominent personalities like *ADC Handwara, SDPO Handwara, BDC, CEO,Law officer, Medical Officer PHC Magam, Principal Higher Secondary School Magam & National Motivational speaker Md Shafi Mir shared their valuable knowledge on the subject. *156 Students and 43 Guests* from various sections of society including SI Magam Police Post, Sarpanches, Numberdar, Ward Members and Anganwadi workers participated in aforesaid campaign, which primarily aimed at spreading awareness on misuse and dangerous effects in unethical consumption of drugs. The awareness drive will also help to build confidence amongst civil society and motivate them to do well in their life.

World Environment day was celebrated under the theme ‘Only One Earth’, at Govt Boys Hr sec School Younsu with full fervor in collaboration with Social Forestry Department Division Range Handwara block Langate celebrated World environment day at Younsu.
On this occasion BDC Chairman Langate Showket Hussain Pandith was chief guest along many PRI members
BO Handwara Ab Majeed along His team and Aaganwadi/Aasha workers participated in this program.
The event was also made graceful by the presence of other dignitaries- Mohd Shafi Bhat along Incharge Culture Wing Mohd Irfan Dar, Lecture Environment Science Mohd Wassem beigh.
The student participants had mesmerised the galaxy of guests by presenting the heart touching cultural segments with the theme conservation and protection of Only One Earth. The esteemed chief guest in his appreciation speech encouraged the students and showered his pleasant gratitude over the head of institute for organising the marvellous event that he acknowledged as first of that type.
At the end Mohd Irfan presented vote of thanks to all dignitaries and organising staff.

Workshop on Value Education concluded at Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura

Sopore 02 June 2023: The valedictory function of five days workshop on “value education to inculcate peace & human values among students” was held at Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura. The workshop was organized by Prem Rawat Foundation (NGO) in association with Division of Agricultural Extension & Communication & NAHEP, SKUAST-Kashmir, wherein more than 150 UG/PG students of the Faculty actively participated and deliberated on the theme with the experts. The workshop was aimed to raise awareness, discuss and establish a platform on successful implementation of peace education programme in the formal education systems through a systemic and collaborative approach. Leading academicians shared information and experiences to develop a common understanding on peace education that will help students safely develop their physical and intellectual capacities and celebrate diversity. Ms. Poonam Sherawat, Peace education programme training facilitator in her address gave a detailed overview of the workshop.

Kanth, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, in her address said that value education is not only significant for the student’s navigation of life but also plays an important role in their overall personality development and making them resilient in the face of adversity. Today, at a time of growing intolerance, it is value education that teaches a child, the importance of being tolerant. Children of today are going to be citizens of the future. It is important for children to be taught to be more inclusive, tolerant and kind towards others. She also emphasized that value based education is likely to help the nation fight against all kinds of prevailing fanaticism, ill-will, violence, dishonesty, corruption, exploitation and drug abuse. The certificates among the participants were distributed by Dean, FoA on the occasion. The programme was attended by heads of various divisions, faculty members and students of the faculty.

Kupwara June 1: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kupwara, today celebrated World Milk Day with theme "Enjoy Dairy"BUT FEED THEM WELL" The programme was organized by the team of scientist of KVK Kupwara which was headed by Dr Qaiser Mouhidin PC KVK Kupwara, On this occasion Progressive Dairy farmers from district Kupwara/Handwara participated in the programme.

Dr Nazir Ah Bumla Scientist KVK Kupwara highlighted the importance of the day and explained the role of milk in nutritional security and providing employment and sustainability to the rural households.
During interaction, participants asked queries related to starting small scale dairy farming, FMD problem and vaccination in cattle, feeding management for increasing milk production, clean milk production, internal and external parasites of livestock in general and diary animals in particular, issues related to AI, milk production enhancement and other problems in dairying and milk production which were replied by Dr Nazir Ahmad Bumla.
Dr Rayees Ah Bhat, Senior Scientist KVK Kupwara thanked the participants and also highlighted the importance of the day and explained the role of milk in nutritional security and providing employment and sustainability to the rural households.
Dr Shahid Hakeem Scientists KVK Kupwara said that World Milk Day will focus on showcasing how dairy is reducing its environmental footprint, while also providing nutritious foods and livelihoods. BDC Chairman Kupwara Mrs Hassena, Mr Ab Ahad Shahilal A, and Many PRI Members along Mohd Ramzan Ganie, Mushtaq Ah Magray , Bilqeesa Akhter, Pakeeza Akther, Majeed Saleem Bhat, and many other farmers attended the programme along all staff of KVK Kupwara were present during this program.
