OKAY. I thought I had more images but then remembered that I. aheem... wrote a lot of this out instead of drawing it. Whoopsie. Anyway readmore, etc etc.

SO we start with the city? It's set up in districts and is kind of like sci fi Venice. I played a lot of BG&E when I was youbger and it influenced me a lot here.

The Motherlobe is a lab in this (teehee... motherlab...) and was rebuilt after an incident with a rogue AI severely injured one Helmut Fulbear. It's the geart of the town (and produces tech.)

Psychic powers are little chips you can put into devices and activate when you need them. Adam's yoyo or, in this AU specifically, Gisu's terrible horrible van (and her levboard, but she has a van in this and I have concept art of it. so. Van be upon ye.)

Also. Intern outfit designs I never finished because.... IDK why actually. Probably a mix of work and not jiving with them all.

Norma has a prosthetic arm in this. Also.

I kind of want to go back and rework these. However there are other android AUs and little situations to put these freaks in. So who knows. No prommies. Morris had LEDs on his chair, though. And Sam made little animatronic animals for fun.

Yeah. Gisu is the sort-of protagonist of this AU because.... she's tge one who figures out the Aquatos are androids. They're state of the art, above current standards, and completely unaware they aren't human. Except for one. Aheehee.

A few other sketches of art for this (AUs that take place a little further along in life meaning I got to fiddle with Lili's design for the first time.)

can i ask you for dion/gisu headcanons?

you can. however the toll is i go through my inbox on my days off mostly (apologies). you get three (3) because i'm trying to be normal.

first off i think... despite the fact that gisu is a scientist's intern and dion is a certified circus guy, i think it's dion who is the one for structure and reigning in gisu's more... dubious scientific plans while gisu is the one getting dion to loosen up a bit.

i think it would be really funny if gisu immediately put her foot in her mouth and has to struggle with getting augustus' approval. especially since dion looks up to him so much and gisu knows that she KNOWS that.

i don't have any of dion's mindscape stuff posted here. or gisu's for that matter. but like they both have little dedications to each other in their little freak brains (they are in love.)

The android AU is interesting. Surprised to see Dion and Norma as friends. Is there anything else you can share from it? Looks cool

OOP the stuff I posted related to my header wasn't android AU, it was actually a crossover i made with PN2 and Oxenfree (1) to cause lsychic damage to my friends.

HOWEVER I actually am partial to putting Norma and Dion in situations where they have to cooperate because they're two sides of the same fucked up little coin.

#i think they're so fun and funny!! i'm still deciding what art of android au i want to share because some of it is so old...#and also unfinished.... a lot of my favourite aus are full of unfinished treasures.

Something I try to keep in mind when making art that looks vintage is keeping a limited color pallette. Digital art gives you a very wide, Crisp scope of colors, whereas traditional art-- especially older traditional art-- had a very limited and sometimes dulled use of color.

This is a modern riso ink swatch, but still you find a similar and limited selection of colors to mix with. (Mixing digitally as to emulate the layering of ink riso would be coloring on Multiply, and layering on top of eachother 👉)

If you find some old prints, take a closer look and see if you can tell what colors they used and which ones they layered... a lot of the time you'll find yellow as a base!

Misprints can really reveal what colors were used and where, I love misprints...

Something else I keep in the back of my mind is: how the human eye perceives color on paper vs. a screen. Ink and paint soaks into paper, it bleeds, stains, fades over time, smears, ect... the history of a piece can show in physical wear. What kind of history do you want to emulate? Misprinted? Stained? Kept as clean as possible, but unable to escape the bluing damages of the sun? It's one of my favorite things about making vintage art. Making it imperfect!

You can see the bleed, the wobble of the lines on the rug, the fading, the dirt... beautiful!!

Thinking in terms of traditional-method art while drawing digital can help open avenues to achieving that genuine, vintage look!
