Veronica isn't spiritual at all before her attack. She enjoys the paranormal and the otherworldly as fiction, but that's all it is - she very staunchly believes that there is very little in the world that is unexplained or will not be explained in the future.
And then she gets attacked, and her whole worldview is changed, and she's left wondering how the hell she survived ( and was there a reason for it? Why her, out of everyone? )
Something about her near death experience also makes her just, a magnet for the supernatural. From someone who didn't believe in ghosts to someone who almost attracts them, as well as many other beings beyond her comprehension.

Veronica wants to feel bad; surely, she should feel bad. Mi-kyung is irritating, sure, but she's harmless, at least Veronica thinks ( hopes ). That doesn't stop the twinge of satisfaction when her own bitten remarks hit home.
It's taking a lot not to roll her eyes at the obvious defensiveness from the other, but an actual scoff leaves her when comments about her makeup are what Mi jumps to.
Of course, the petty, spiteful side of her sneers, it's always the makeup. Or the hair. Or the clothes. It's far from the first time she's dealt with comments of this exact nature. The mature thing to do would be back off, be the bigger person. Veronica does not like to be the bigger person, something that's got her in more than enough fights.
" What, as opposed to... whatever you're doing? I'll pass. " It's not like she thinks Mi's style or makeup is bad in any way - in fact if the girl was less fucking irritating she'd probably compliment it - it's just a jab back, an attempt to get under the skin. " Now, can you shut the fuck up for a minute? You're giving me a headache. "

mi sinks in on herself almost completely. the urge to run and hide consumes. neck-deep water. but, she can’t completely pull away, either. or else she would lose. it is not worth it to drown. ❝ would you learn how to put on your fucking makeup? or, is the crying raccoon look on purpose? ❞ just who the hell does this girl think she is? you want annoying? i can gladly give you annoying. 〗

THINGS YOUR MUSE WILL NOTICE ABOUT MINE. (Repost, don't Reblog, please!)
WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE:
Tired eyes, on the border between blue and grey. Oftentimes distant and looking past the subject, rather than at it, but can sharpen when her interest is piqued. Lined with dark makeup that is smudged more often than not.
Pale, sometimes even pallid skin. Frown lines are starting to take permanent root alongside the dark circles that have been there since her youth. It's clear she doesn't get nearly enough sun, and sometimes it seems like all the saturation is gone from her
Bleached and dyed platinum blonde hair. It's been a while since she touched it up, and her roots, a warm brown, are showing. Long, but she refuses to tie it back unless absolutely necessary. Has a habit of hiding in it.
Worn, dark, and somewhat mall goth-ish clothes. She's past that phase and she no longer has the energy to stand out, but she also finds comfort in the layers and the general edginess. One of her most worn items is a black jacket adorned with different pop culture and aesthetic patches, mostly pertaining to different horror movies and stories. There are some gaps where certain patches have been torn off.
Stands at an average 5'6" / 167cm, although often in platform boots that increase her height (which is itself slightly mitigated by her permanent slouch.) It's hard to ballpark her height at first glance.
Nails are bitten down and almost raw, and any nail polish is often chipped. Her hands are host to a few small scars, but nothing of any real concern.
If her shirt is off, a large, messy scar is easily visible on her stomach. Healed over, but the skin is still irritated and marred. Often covered by clothes, however.
Slumps more than sits, and often hunches in on herself. Her shoulders seem permanently tense, like she's trying not to take up too much space, to hide herself.
On the topic of hiding - fidgets a lot, eyes never lingering on one spot. Looks behind her an abnormal amount, seems to always be shifting her weight so she can run if needed. A mix of nervous energy and absolute exhaustion.
A grungy, outcast kind of vibe about her. Earlier, she would have worn it with pride, and now she wears the unapproachability like a shield.
WHAT THEY SMELL LIKE:
Cigarette smoke. In the fog, this is replaced by wood smoke due to the campfire, but she always smells like something is burning. It sticks to her, and she often doesn't bother to mask it.
When she has places to be presentable, however, she uses cheap yet clean deodorants. She's not a perfume girl, unless you count the floral fabric softener when she's been spending time at her childhood home.
The lingering, vague smell of hair dye also sticks to her, as well as ink.
In the fog, the smell of blood is hard to scrub, not that she even really bothers. Still, she seems uneasy about it, almost as if it makes her nauseous more than even the average person.
WHAT THEY TASTE LIKE:
Also the aforementioned smoke and nicotine. Less so in the fog, or later in her story.
Sometimes also blood, from her habit of chewing her nails until they bleed and also from biting her lip.
Occasionally also coffee, if she's stayed up for too long.
WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE:
Somewhat husky, alto-range voice. There's a bit of a rasp to it, like she's been yelling or crying, at all times. Usually fairly quiet, unless provoked, in which case her volume control seems to leave altogether and she grows sharp and loud..
Her tone is usually cynical or sarcastic, with a blunt edge that never really leaves. Her voice isn't the most emotive, and she aims for a solid coat of apathy over everything she says. Can often be seen as offputting by those who don't take the time to get to know her.
What's considered the "standard American accent" / dialect - from Colorado. Mun is NOT American so struggles to describe regional accents :')
A habit of cursing often - not quite to an extreme degree, but uses curse words as part of her daily vocabulary.
WHAT THEY FEEL LIKE:
Runs cold, with slightly clammy hands with a tremor in them that worsens when she's anxious.
Clothes are often worn to the point of comfort, with starchy fabrics softened and sharp edges blunted. Still, wears jewellery that can scratch if you're not careful.

i think veronica has always suffered from depression and anxiety in some form even prior to her attack, but for her it was always manageable or something comfortable. like, wanting to die was just what everyone she was around did.
in the moments where she thought she was actually going to die, she'd kind of made peace with it, and while she was on the surface extremely grateful to survive and recover, her mental health got so much fucking worse ( for obvious reasons ) that there's a genuine part of her that thinks she should have died then. that she should die.
it's that part of her that leads her to her self-destructive habits post-attack. taking up smoking again, refusing help until her sister finally gets through to her, leaving the house where she grew up in it all happened for hours, even days at a time with no communication.
her anxiety goes through the roof, she becomes extremely paranoid and she's diagnosed with ptsd in the hospital. literally the only thing keeping her together in the months after her attack is that her sister is alive, that she managed to save her.
