the concept and idea of “you can always start trying to be a better person” is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible
because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better person
from a compassionate point of view it’s deeply distressing
and from a pragmatic point of view it’s outright frustrating
it’s fucked up.

in my free time, I keep a commonplace book to record the places I go, the films I watch, and the things I'm interested in!! mostly the book is full of information on folklore and the occult!!
I find that keeping my commonplace book allows me to learn for the sake of learning, and I get to research things outside my academic interest! 🦇

2020 quarantine challenge: take a picture of your desk/study space
ngl i feel like all my posts so far have been of my same desk, and self isolation isn’t helping with that lmao. however, i’m very excited to join this challenge (although a bit late)!! today my classes will finally be resuming after two weeks of break, and i can’t wait to finish this semester 🤠
