Hello! Same anon from yesterday. I hope it's okay if I send asks like this from time to time. I woke up feeling a bit better today, and what you said about Vegeta really resonated with me. Perhaps it's because I project a lot onto him but I think the thing about him being so flawed and that being his charm is so true. It's like, this emotionally and mentally destroyed man who used to be an awful, selfish person was shown a little bit of kindness and started re-thinking his whole life, because surely he didn't deserve to be treated like that? And then suddenly he finds himself living on earth and liking it, and he despises himself for it at first because that wasn't his purpose. He's not supposed to have these kind of feelings, right? But then he realizes that staying on earth to protect and spend time with his family and with Goku is what he really wants. I think what happened was that Goku was always very genuine in his like for him, and Vegeta had a hard time getting used to that because all that was on his mind was fighting and being the best. Kindness used to be a foreign concept to him, and then came along this guy who barely knew him and yet was ready to forgive him and help him be a better person. He enjoys his company (even if Vegeta wouldn't admit it) because they're similar in many ways, but their differences connect them too. I'm sorry for the long rant— I liked hearing your thoughts on him so I thought I'd share some of mine. I hope you're having a great day! It's actually been a while since I watched Dragon Ball, so my thoughts may be all over the place, but this old man is always rotating on my mind.

Vegeta certainly is the perfect example of people being able to change and deserving second chances. That if people who are shown even the tiniest bit of kindness, can become completely different people and make different choices in life. And to see the progress of that change within Vegeta and his actions, it's simply wonderful and inspiring.

And yes Goku definitely helps in that way. Vegeta needs Goku more than he thinks to be honest. To always improve himself to be an even greater warrior. They are opposites that complement each other when together, they both need each other's perspectives, especially when it comes to fighting.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts as well, it's always nice to talk and share our love of Vegeta. I hope you get to rewatch some Dragon Ball episodes if you have the chance, the nostalgic feelings are the best. I have to watch specific scenes a lot in order to make GIF's and always end up watching the whole episode :')

Vegeta does look like a strange "comfort" character or as the people around me say "he always looks so angry". But maybe that's just what does it. To have this grumpy man who does his own thing and mostly snaps at others, but still chooses to work hard and fight for what he protects. Who believes in himself, but also gets frustrated at his own limitations. He is so flawed, which makes him so incredible. He is dear!
